  4. Hello, I am looking for recommendations on a good trustworthy mechanic . I don't specifically need anything done at the moment, however it would be nice to have somebody who is honest and knowledgeable lined up. I am very happy with my import specialist mechanic , but domestic (Dodge Ram , jeep prior) I gave up as I had been hosed by 3 different places. Thanks !
  5. ^ lucky craft have been good for me....but I know some ppl who have had them take on water also...
  6. I mentioned vintage or collector lures as a descriptor, as I have seen many many lure collectors using this tubing. I purchased online before, but was hoping for local quick and easy for whenever I needed it vs hoarding it. The drenan stuff would definitely work, but there really isn't enough included for the price. From experience, it goes quick! Back to sir cranks- the tubing would be a pita for everyday use lures. I use green bonnets and I personally think they are great , but take up a lot of room. You can also buy those Plano 3771 that are thin with multiple adjustable storage compartments. Do a google image search, they are cool, but not for big tall baits/musky baits. Those special mate boxes are beautiful, but depending on your applications , boat situation and etc, it doesn't offer the same storage and mobility options as clear planos. Very good boxes tho.
  7. ^ ya I have some that have been around the block and are fine. Beats me, all I know is it has happened to many a xrap during spring trouting
  8. Thank you everybody for your help and messages. It is actually 1/16 and 1/32 which is what I actually needed. I will look into the coffee stirrers also, as I am interested in seeing how they work.
  9. I've heard of this. Sadly I find issues with X-raps as well taking on water without any abuse. When I use them casting open cold water for trout it seems after every outing one seems to MESSED UP. I hope they sort this out cause shadow rap is a nice bait with good colours
  10. Hey For all you vintage lure collectors out there, do you know any local stores that sell clear tubing that I can cut and place over my hooks? I live in the Toronto area I bought from eBay before but it was pricy Thanks
  11. ^hope u were wearing a life jacket when you fell in lol
  12. He knows what he said As for scent, I never use a spray , but I prefer my plastics to have scent like yum or powerbait, with heavy salts being my favourite. Garlic scent never seemed to work for me, and rubber smelling plastics are only for quick moving reactions imo . Fish are foodies nowadays
  13. My condolences. Always Very sorry to hear about something like this.
  14. Stradic Saros
  15. Nice fish Jimmer
  16. I had bad withdrawal and mood swings, even suffered headaches, foggy disconnected feelings and etc . I was so surprised that something could do that to me . I had quit off and on but would always start again after half a year - year. Those were always cold turkey quits, and I always self consciously clinged on to the hope that I could eventually have a smoke here and there once I wasn't addicted anymore type crap. When I decided to quit for the final time, it was very difficult because I told myself never again. I used the gum and walked around with a spit cup so as not to swallow the saliva which caused bad heartburn for me. I started with like 20 pieces of gum day one (anytime I even thought about a smoke), then it slowly reduced. When I knew I would be in a social setting where I would be tempted, I always had a lot of nicotine gum and used it. I think I went through 5 or 6 packs of thrive , and I will never start again. I Used a lot of gum up front, then just didn't need it. One a week, one/two maybe 5 months in then everntually she was gone. Now after about 4 years of being smoke free, I sometime find myself wanting a smoke, but it's so minor and never leaves me dead in my tracks (ie no withdrawal feelings, no thinking about it and dwelling in it for more than a few seconds), but then I remind myself of the control it had on me. I'm done, never again. Good luck u got this
  17. thanks for sharing this that's cool
  18. I'll keep that in mind, especially the tungsten $8/3 heads bit lol
  19. I'm glad to hear people are still using it, it's always nice to see a company have such staying power after all these years. From what I know and have seen, at least in terms of the single tail grub, the quality hasn't seemed to change much if at all since I was a child.
  20. Yup no springs to worry about unless you start getting into taking apart that right sideplate , which I count think you'll be doing Free the birdsnest !!
  21. Ya I also wondered if people still used them in that beetle spin type configuration also for anything other than crappie and rockbass . Man things have really changed tho...
