  1. Very interesting thanks for the responses so far
  2. Yah...Kalins are very very nice, and yums are good (but not Kalins good though)...
  3. Hey I remember as a child mr twister was a big deal, and caught a lot of fish (or so it seemed). Nowadays with salt impregnated baits, garlics, coffee etc I find myself asking this question ? Mr Twister are durable, smell like plastic/rubber, and aren't exactly the cheapest out there by any means. Is this something intermediate anglers use, or is it more of a beginner used brand nowadays?
  4. Very nice fish bud!
  5. You're getting 16 mpg combined with an Eco boost ???
  6. The ones on the left always seemed fake, but I was assured they weren't as I had been told by a tackle store on Jane who also sold fake lucky crafts lol
  7. I'm interested to hear feedback, because some of the mepps spinners and spoons seem to have a slightly different image / mepps stamp which leads me to believe they are remakes .
  8. So I guess your handle does not walk backwards, so your anti reverse bearing is fine. If you store your reel with the drag tight, the drag and drag spring washers could be pooched as stated above. If you have a tendency to drop oil into your reel, it could have tainted the drag stacks. You can possibly service the drag , but buying carbon for $15 as stated above is an excellent upgrade.
  9. This makes me absolutely sick. I'm with Grimsby on this one
  10. I don't have experience with any except Guelph lake, but congrats on being a father !
  11. Does your handle walk backwards ? Also, my friend has a president spinning with the braid ready rubber tabs and he backed it with mono. For some reason, it slips only about a foot under heavy load....
  12. That's a great fish congrats !!
  13. Absolutely jealous! Bassin has been garbage for me this season, and to see this makes me wanna strangle you and cry at the same time! All seriousness though, you have a way with catching the lunkers, and your posts are always top notch and a pleasure to read. Keep up the good work, and keep these posts coming ! -Mark
  14. I will admit it has become rediculous. It is my opinion that $150-$200 for a rod and $150-$200 for a reel will give pretty much any bass angler what they would ever want or need. After that, law of diminishing return. Better yet, if you are used to using old beater type equipment, upgrade to a fenwick eagle GT for like $70 and a pfluegar supreme similar price; it will feel like a million bucks! I have seen the gutts of hundreds of reels , and there is a point where you are just spending more , but it is also apparent why some cost less than others also. The only reels worth $1000+ imo are heavy duty deep sea type reels, and float reels. However, quality can still be had for much much less in a float reel (not sure about the deep sea type reel)
  15. Man that's a sweet car! Hope the van works for you, but ya listen around when things sit they die and need life breathed back into them...
  16. How the heck did you manage a price like that???thats insane!!
  17. ITs a "learning" tranny I'm told as MF says. Mines still jerky in my ecodiesel when it's cold or in the am the first shift or two, then it seems fine.
  18. ^ had a friend with a Montana which had the tranny go around the same kms also..
  19. ^ Top Gun ? I'm not familiar with that place. Did a quick search online, I assume the one in Gilford? I'll look into it also.
  20. Thanks all this gives me some hope and a great place to start (and end hopefully). Would prefer Hamilton to Fergus, but fergus is better than a new trailer !!!! And I hate photobucket I'll be damned if I pay $399 to use that mediocre service
