i say keep it simple....3/8 oz Knuckle ball jig with a big (3"-4") sucker minnow.....the minnow and jig shape keep it off bottom/snag free. 30' and you should just get to put 'em back....40' and their air bladders will be hanging out thier*&^%^%

Hi all, Got out yesterday for a good session yesterday, started just before noon and headed back at 6:30pm so i could take the boy for a short boat ride before supper. Day started miserably weather wise....windy...grey and rainy/drizzle. But by 3pm the sun was out..still breezy but nice. I wanted to see if the crappie had moved in shallow and was casting close to shore....no luck. But after about 15 or so small pike....i found a pocket of keeper walleye...awesome....SUPPER SORTED. The walleye bite died off and i headed along the NW shore in search of crappie. I found them in the last bay i tried....not hundreds as can be the case...but they are starting to show up....nice size too...averaging 12". Beetlespin and chartreuse jig found them......slip bobber went on right after i confirmed they were there. They were sitting in 4' FOW about 15 feet out from shore...any further or closer and you would not get a bite. Went out for a short boat ride with the boy and missus when i got back then casted from shore to get one more walleye as i'd only kept 3. Here's the video and a picture of a crappie. Keep it and enjoy it Mike. I get walleye with loads of tape worm in. Like someone else said its not in the meat...they live in the intestinal tract/stomach. Alls i would advise is is to wash your hands thoroughly after cleaning fish, because unless its sushi you're making.....thats about the only way they will get you. Bon Appetite!

Good job Bud. Finally got out this morning in front of the house...i did not egt 50 fish...but got my limit and lunch is looking much better than it did when i got up at 7am(leftover lasagne). I'm catching you up ...lol.

Hi all, Cant believe i'm working solid over the long weekend....had to watch the boats yesterday morning zoom past the house.....frustration dont even come closeto describe what i was feeling...lol. Anyway....I just got up from the bottom of the lawn 5 minutes ago after a 20 minute session....MY OPENER. Pretty darned good actually, got my limit and today's lunch sorted and a nice 32" pike on jig and minnow. My opinion is they have to be able to cast and reel in, if they cant do that you would be doing everything right? Also if they are not casting and reeling i'd say you would be flying pretty close to using 2 rods which up here would not be legal.

Hi all, I cant believe it....i have broken a world record...i'm sure of it. Since moving here i have gone through at least one camera a year...but tonight i was putting Jack in the truck and left the darned camera on the tonneau cover and drove off:wallbash: 2 cameras down and its only May!!!! I'm actually not that bothered about the camera...things are replaceable////but the pics on it we took today of Jack in our boat's first outing today were priceless....i feel a bit sick to my stomach actually, oh well....maybe the person who picked it up will hand it in....there is hope yet. On a brighter note....before going out today i managed to find the leaking rivets by removing the false floor and me and a buddy launched along side a dock...4 rivets in the bow where it takes a beating from the front roller on the trailer. Managed to bang them flat again right there at the dock...JOB DONE Thanks OFC.....i needed a rant
