  4. Great account of a good day, awesome to get help when you really need it. always right at the hole eh? I often have that split second argument in my head whether or not the fish is worth a wet sleeve...lol...dry sleeve usually wins the argument these days. Good to hear your gonna be mobile again...sucks having to haul yer gear by hand! BTW....gonna share what 'olefaithful' is?
  5. Pink speedo?
  6. OFC does it again! Thanks for the replies folks. JohnnyB found them at Lebarons. The Missisauga branch had 'em but dont deliver but the Montreal store delivers. Thanks JB!
  7. Thanks for all the replies folks. it arrived yesterday in our post box...no extra charges! Looked at the date stamp and they had not shipped till almost a week and a half after they took my order online. I did speak to the guy who actually designed the product...really nice guy....he offered straight away to just send me another order by USPS if it turned out i was gonna get shafted...at no extra cost....ASAP. I did say that i felt his quick responses and personal attention was great and he deserved a mention alone for the outstanding customer service. Its basically a spare line tidier with a cutting edge...i just put it all on my spools that are forever unwinding in my tackle bag...AWESOME LITTLE INVENTION! I dont know if i'm allowed to post the link so no hard feelings to the mods if they delete it...but it really is a cool little gizmo...and the customer service top notch so i feel it deserves a mention. cool little gizmo link Once again...thanks for all the replies and advice...OFC rocks! Although the goods were shipped by USPS i did pass on to Rob(the designer/owner)the issues that can arise when using Fed-ex or UPS cross border.
  8. Lol Bubbles...actually my postal problems are from a different order. I just need it quick and dont want any hold ups, there are plenty of online and retail outlets in the states that stock it, just wondering if anyone knows anywhere in canada....my searches have come up with a big fat ZERO so far.
  9. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows where i can buy a ice transducer for a Lowrance X67c. Transducers product code is a PTI-WSU. I am looking for a CANADIAN retail/online outlet. Thanks in advance.
  10. NOW HE TELLS ME!!! Thanks man...i will definitely use MBPS in future! I'm gonna contact them this morning and find out a tracking number. Thanks for all the replies/advice....good to know for the future. This was not an Ebay/paypall ourchase so complaining that way is not an option, neither is collecting from Pearson...i'm a little bit far away for that, although the drive down along the coast of Lake Superior is beautiful I'll let you all know the result of this...who knows...it might just be taking a while and turn up at no extra cost....doubt it though.
  11. Thanks Joey, yeah might just do that. Sucks...but whaddaya gonna do right? I find it interesting though that the retailer sends me an email saying that all the stuff they send to Canada gets held up, yet has no explanation for the hold up or info about who is shipping and/or extra charges customers may be liable for. Not right if ya ask me.
  12. No Wayne i dont have the number..i have to contact the retailer and find out who they have used. Thanks for the info/advice.
  13. So if this is the case here....and i dont necessarily need this item...what are my "choices".....? Do i just cut my losses and let them keep it and lose $37 instead of paying $80+ for $15 worth of goods? Who the hell can i complain to about this? This is outrageous if its the case.
  14. Thanks for the quick reply Fishgreg....what are your experiences with ups and fedex...why is it not good to ship with them...if i can find out i can tell the retailer to use usps as they are saying its "our government i should blame" as this is happening 'with everything they send to Canada"
  15. Hi all, Just wondering.....is there a $ threshold for paying taxes at the border when you buy something online and it is shipped from the states? I bought some items....total $15. Its taken 3 weeks and still no parcel. I paid $20 shipping. I did hear something about UPS holding things up, something about 'brokerage'.....but am unsure what is happening. Any ideas? I have had some e-mails from the supplier(fishing related), but to be honest was a bit peed off with the latest reply, i wont go into it yet about what they are saying before i can get an idea of why the hold up might be happening. I have paid way less shipping on much more expensive items on ebay and regular retail outlets from the U.S. and had it arrive within the week.....so i'm thinking its something to do with it not being sent by USPS and getting dinged by either UPS'brokerage' fees or the freekin' government wanting another slice of my ever diminishing pie....or both. Whaddaya think folks?
  16. Awesome!
  17. nope....is that an invite?

  22. Hi all, Called OldMan last minute last night seeing if he wanted to go for a couple hours Laker fishing today...YUP...lol...he did. We discussed the potential slush situation, given he'd been out on a small trout lake and almost got stuck a couple days before, and the slush in front of my house has been knee deep all week. The temps have been an average of 0 degrees C for the past week...so things are pretty liquid out there given all the snow we've had this year. Anyhoo, the plan was that despite being a heavy old beast of a triple more suited to groomed trails, we would take only my snowmobile and the Equinox sled instead of the otter flip up to cut down on weight, so we could just power through the slush. Slush was horrendous as anticipated(a little worse in fact) but with some hard packed snow right off the landing terminal velocity was achived and we smashed through on the way out. Getting back was another story. despite Gord saying he'd walk the sleigh to the hard packed snow some 20 meters away, i convinced him (wrongly) that we should just pin the throttle and go. BAD IDEA We could not get any speed up from the start with both of us on there and got all of 10 meters before we were stuck. We pushed and pulled and shovelled and were out in 10 minutes or so....but...i would have been screwed if i was by myself. Even worse i ended up flat on my arse in 12" of ice cold water....TWICE....ok when its as mild as it was...but this happening in -20 would be no laughing matter if i was solo and on a remote lake.....TODAY I LEARNED TO RESPECT SLUSH....was not nearly as bad as it could have been but an eye opener to what could be. GORD...YOU DA MAN!....sorry for convincing you i could get us through when you have way more experience in these areas...i'll shut the ^&%^ up and listen next time....lol. Anyway....twas not a picture taking day, but we did get some trout for our efforts...nothing big...in fact i got one that was not much bigger than 6" and another around 10"...good sign for the lake....and they both swam away happy as i slowed down the reeling up when i realized they were small so i did not blow their swim bladders out their rear ends! We kept a couple of 19-22" fish for eats......50' FOW....trout coming in when the baitfish showed...which was rare...spent most of the 2 hours staring at the blank screen of my X67c.
  23. AWESOME GLOVES BLAIR!!!!!!! fantastic GTG people...love all the pictures...Randy...that deer head is freakin' weird and scary....love it. So many different stories....great read. GOOD TIMES!
