  1. Welcome. I have never flown in for a fishing trip but I took the Polarbear Express from Cochrane to Mosseanee where we got off at the the 103 mile post where we were met by our William Tozer. He took us into his riverside cabins where we slayed the walleye, big pike and sturgeon.
  2. I bought the Marine, Auto, Fleet motor treatment.
  3. Who is Randy From Sturgeon....and where is he from? Nipfisher because I am too lazy to fish anywhere else besides Lake Nipissing (unless Rod Caster makes me).
  4. Only 2nd post since joining in September 2009?
  5. where are the cup (beer) holders?
  6. The shoals and rocks can be deadly. Get a good map if you can. travel slowly if you don't know the lake. Launch is excellent though.
  7. That is some great detail W A R. Much appreciated.
  8. Getting this thread back on track........ Myself and Joeytier were appoached by OPP in their jet boat today on Callander Bay. They were polite and asked to see our licences (not check the stickers only see the cards). They had no interest in my boaters card....why do we need it if Police dont care? They asked to see my safety kit but didn't ask to see if the lash light worked or if I had a whistle, etc. Just having the orange bucket was good enough. I believe I need to have flares too...which I dont. They asked for my fire extinguisher (because I have a built in tank) but never asked for life jackets??? which I showed him. They never asked about alcohol or if we had a cooler? They never asked how the fishing was? They didn't care if we had slot sizers or oos fish which of couse we didn't. They were not overly friendly but also did not waste much of our time. Maybe it was the OFC sticker on my windshield????
  9. Did you go out today? Joeytier and I were on the bay from 10am - 3 pm and only managed a 14" keeper walleye and a rock bass. Joey had a pike bite off at boatside and lost something bigger (maybe a drum). I'll PM you.
  10. It is off Lansdowne. Where the royal bank and callander tavern are.
  11. Why not use the launch at the old marina? Darlings marina it used to be called. Turn towards the lake at the Callander Tavern and go to the end of the road. Close to where they store the cheif in the winter. Boat launch is free, tons of parking and the dock is decent. Could easily launch a 20' cruiser there. I'll be launching there tomorrow morning with Joeytier.
  12. Good day on the water. I'm off tomorrow too. If you don't want to rent come grab my punt and 4hp.
  13. Yep. Having a brew and sitting in front of the tube.
  14. Another vote for Starcraft. I PMd you.
  15. I am dissapointed in you all. Not a single marshmallow comment. What is going on with this community?
  16. Sunset Point is just off of Lakeshore Dr behind Churchills restaurant and the White Owl Bistro. There is alot of parking and easy access toi fish of of the rocks behind the trees. Decent boat launch too.
  17. If your friends with Bernie you're good in my books too. If you want to get out in the boat some time let me know. I'm only a young guy (36) but would host you any time you want to get out. Blair

  18. Scooter, thta is a great spot in C. Bay. I believe the most success had last year in that spot was with a bottom bouncer and a slow death hook with a crawler. Got to be going very slow 1 mph or even less and they will suck it in. AGAIN my buddies were out on Fri and Sat nights and brought in their limits of 8 keepers. When the bite is on here it is not difficult to find the fish. Just have to keep your worms moving on the sandy bottom. The bite will slow down in a week or so then we will fish deeper areas and the humps out in the middle of the lake. Bass and muskie open later this month so the pressure on the walleye will let up a bit.
  19. Just give them to me when they get wet.
  20. May be cheaper then gas in the truck, gas in the boat, snacks, bait, etc.?
  21. I haven't been out too much on Nipissing yet due to parenting my 2 boys every night. I have been sharing reports with Rod Caster and others and I have many friends who are catching anywhere from 8-20 walleye per night. Some not catching a single perch. On average they are getting 3-5 keepers with a few 2 person limits (8). THey are catching several slot fish, a few above the slot and lots of smaller ones. Most of their keepers are in the 13-15.5" range. Several "cigar" walleye are being caught and released. They will be keepers in 1-2 years. Blarg, where are you fishing? PM me and I give up a few good drift spots and techniques to get you some Nipissing walleye. Yes Rod Caster I can catch fish lol.
  22. maybe?
  23. Never smoked tobacco but I figure if you hold onto a Rapala like you would a smoke when you are in the boat, the treble hook in the lip each time you need to take a drag should help you quit.
  24. We all feel so sad for you Paul.
  25. Where abouts (general area) on the Mag. It is a long twisty river.
