  1. Brad we have Randy From Sturgeon, and Curlap, from Sturgeon Falls and several members from North Bay. I have a permanent trailer parked at Glenrock Trailer park right in Sturgeon. Get in touch with me through PM and we can hook up in May.
  2. Pulled the hut off of Callander Bay this morning. Another great season in the books.

  3. 39" of solid ice ion Callander Bay Lake Nipissing yesterday.
  4. That's what you guys get for chasing Trout. Walleye lakes are all solid.
  5. 38-40" of ice here in North Bay. Our frost is 8' down in most areas and deeper under sidewalks/driveways. I would be very surprised if lakes are ice free in the next 65 days (Opening weekend).
  6. Just made my day. Terrific news.
  7. Wooden Boater, there is an outstanding bass fishery on Nipissing. Both SM and LM. Pike and Muskie are regular targets of many summer anglers and the Perch population is booming. Shawn Degagne (writer) and the LNSA are spreading the "doom and gloom" in hopes of getting their restocking approved. I am 100% in favour of restocking the lake. Even with minimal success it still adds some fish to the system. As long as it is not costing the anglers, or outfitters. Finaly I have heard that they are considering other regulations changes that include increasing the slot size bottom measurement from 15.75" to 16.75" and keeping the top end the same at 23 & 5/8". They may also modify the pike slot size and limits and open Bass season for longer. This is all considerations and I believe there wil be no significant changes in the next set of Regs. Here is an article from the Nugget today. I am in the fur hat and black/grey jacket to the left. http://www.nugget.ca/2014/03/09/new-mnr-plan-terrifies-operators
  8. The article says 35 million annually.

  12. "Tip-up town" is where all the perch are. Quite a few walleye and pike mixed in too. Most if those huts are in 23-25 feet of water. My hut is on the outside edge in 28 feet.
  13. Nuts!
  14. Over 30" of ice where I am driving. Needed an extension on the auger today.

  18. I took my 4 year old Karter out to the hut for a few hours on Monday and we got a couple fish. He is pretty brave and refused gloves to hold this eater. This one was 17.5" and went back in the lake. The 2 groups at my hut this weekend iced 18 walleye including a 23" 18" and my 17.5"
  19. Welcome.
