  1. I like to read all the bull and lies.
  2. Sounds like the perfect line to use as backing for all the cp guys out there.
  3. Yep the ones that get away are always massive Nice fish thanks for sharing.
  4. Nice Cats. And the colour, there so green. The cats here out of the Ottawa are way, way, darker almost black. What kind of cats are they?
  5. Hey Dave, when I win your boat can you help me take all the sponsor decals off it.
  6. Its not on Georgian Bay but why not try the Ottawa River near Arnprior. Its just a ahlf hour west of Ottawa and the Musky are huge.
  7. ENERGIZER at wally world. they run about 100.00 and are a real good battery. I have three of them in my bass boat and no issues going on three yrs. As a matter of fact I checked them for charge on the weekend and they are all fully charged after sitting in a garage all winter without charging.
  8. Personally I would stick to a cranking battery for your motor. Maybe you should charge up the battery you are having problems with and then have it load tested. Just take it with you to wally world and they will load test it for you. If it needs to be replaced buy a Energizer marine starter battery and your problems will be over. The onboard charger you are buying will maintain your batteries alot better and you will get longer life out of them. I haven't had any luck with Interstate batteries, so I no longer buy them. The most I ever got out of them was maybe 3 yrs. There is also a product you can buy from a battery shop that you add to the cells and it rejuvenates the cells, I can't remember the name of it but it comes in a small plastic bottle with 6 increments on the side of the bottle. So much for each cell. I add this to my batteries every two years and my batteries last on average 5 to 8 yrs. Its about 25 bucks per bottle. If i'm not mistaken electronics don't draw that much power to draw a big battery down in less than a day on the water. Hope this helps.
  9. Power pro SUCKS. Used it once before. Spooled up 50lb braid on my flippin stick. Next day broke off about 3 nice fish pulling them out of the slop. Was probably a bad spool of line but have never used it again, and have heard alot of bad things about it. I use Stren superbraid awesome line.
  10. I f you go and get it checked out they will probably tell you to come back when the swelling goes down. So soon as the swelling goes down go and get it exrayed if its pooched they will fix it for you right then and there. Just tell them you waited for the swelling to go down before you came in. Most of your discomfort is probably from the swelling. I'm not a doctor just relaying my experiences with messed up fingers.
  11. I'm only six hours from Tbay, I hope I never get a hold of that guide when I come up there to fish. I hate to pay for something I can get from my fellow members for free. Keep em coming Doc and don't sweat the small stuff. The world is full of clowns. Maybe you should show us all his spots hehe.
  12. The Exile and the Triumph are my two faves. Sweet
  13. I pull my prop off a least 3 times a season just to check for fishing line. I probably find line in there 30% of the time. Then I put some new grease on the spline and reinstall the prop. After the next time I use it I check the torque on the prop nut again.
  14. Good luck Raptorfan, bring one home for dinner.
  15. Thanks for the reply MJL. Much appreciated.
  16. G'Day all. I am interested in trying my hand at rodbuilding. I want to build some rods for myself mostly, maybe a few for family and close friends. My question is where do you purchase blanks, components and supplies from? I have been searching the net and everything seems to be stateside. Is there any canadian company's out there? Any of the places I have found in canada, don't have catalogues or websites you can order from. I can just imagine how much shipping costs from the states are if you order 7 ft blanks etc. If you do use companies stateside which ones do you use? Thanks.
  17. Now theres a young fella who has got his priorities straight.
  18. If you have power to the bow of your boat just wire it in to your power point and connect your transducer to the lower unit of your trolling motor with a adjustable clamp. Remember to use an inline fuse. Tie strap the transducer cable to the shaft every six inches and leave enough slack in the cable to allow the troll motor to be put in the stow away position. Because you have two different makes you might have echo interference while running both at the same time. Hope this helps.
  19. Back in the 80's and early 90's we used to hit the park for opening weekend every year. Some years were brutally cold. But then the crowds became annoying, year after year the idiots became more and more frequent. Eventually we started to fish the areas on the fringe of the park boundries and found the fishing was awesome and there were no crowds. I guess most people figure you have to fish the park for the best fishing and drive right past the best fishing in my opinion. sounds like a cool project your working on. Goog luck with it.
  20. Wouldn't catch me going in there with that shark. Not only are that Aussie's tanks made of steel but so are his balls.
  21. Can't wait. Heading down that way to fish may 5,6,7. Will be my fist time for steelies. Still seems like such a long time till then...Oh well.
