  1. That's one more fish than I caught yesterday! Great looking fish! I gotta hit the tribs again soon...been a few weeks...and I'm getting the itch!!!
  2. Wow...looks like a baby black bear in parts of that vid! That thing was huge!
  3. Great stuff Kemper! It's not procrastination from studying....it's clearing your head so you can retain information when you do get back to studying....LOL. Some real nice fish!!!
  4. FnS winterized his boat last weekend, and he was beginning to think maybe it was a week too soon. I got a PM from him asking if I was interested in maybe hitting BOQ in my little 14 ft tinny. I was up for it, as long as the weather/wind could cooperate! By the time Friday came, the forecast for Picton looked prime, so Friday night we firmed up plans. By the time Saturday morning came, the forecast said calm winds til about 10am, then gradually increasing throughout the day to 25kph. We'd stay close to where we launched as we both know how fast conditions can change out there. We got on the water around 9am, to see sections in the Picton area that had a skim of ice over it!! Here's a pic as we headed out. You can see the ice....and some cool reflections of the sky above in the water. We decided to keep the trolling up to the cement plant and back...as we headed out, I looked back and noticed this army of trolling boats following us out there!! Kind of hard to see here, but I counted around 10 boats following....LOL Most of the day was overcast, and the winds never did kick up higher than 10kph, so my little boat handled the water perfectly. This is about the choppiest it got while we were out there. Again, maybe hard to see, but there are 8 other boats in this picture! We were marking bait balls with larger fish surrounding them all morning long, so we had high hopes of catching a few fish...unfortunately, the fish had a different plan! Using planer boards, we trolled and trolled...trying a variety of lures. We started out trolling at around 2mph, and then used the drift sock to slow us down to around 1.3 to 1.5 mph. The sun came back out near the end of the day...we decided to head back to the launch around 3pm... Hard day for fishing, but had a great time out there with FnS as usual! So, the last two times I've fished there, I've come up with the big zero! I'll have to give it a try again next year....and if I get desperate, I may even try to bring a few up through the ice....but I'm not betting on that...LOL
  5. Now that's going to extremes to fish! Great report...sometimes you just get skunked out there. I was on BOQ for 6 hours today with the same result...only less snow on the ramp...LOL.
  6. Hmmm...I have fished with him before. If he gets a glassy look to his eyes, and starts to say "Hey...I have a great idea for a report...could you stand over there on that rock by the rapids for me?", run...run away fast and don't look back.
  7. Brian...they are just screen shots. I hit the "prt scr" button on my keyboard, then paste it in my photo editor. My photo editor does that box highlight thing when I drag the mouse. Hit print screen again, open again, and then save. Kind of a pain in the butt, but works well to explain stuff online....
  8. Nice going! That sure is a nice looking fish! Always great to get out there....a real bonus to land a nice fish like that.
  9. Nice work Glen! Now...we have a few ideas for our backyard...when are you coming up to do that for us? I promise you wont need to till for nearly as long....
  10. Great recap Sean! Loved the video idea...I may have to steal it for our year end report!! LOL. Headed out to Quinte tomorrow for one last kick at the can, then the boat goes away for the winter. I hear you on the weather this year...it pretty much was touch and go all year long...
  11. Fantastic report guys!! When both of you guys post reports, there is always some amazing photography that goes along with it.... I haven't been out in a long time now....getting the itch again!!!
  12. I always read your reports....always entertaining, and I know I've learned quite a bit from them...and your videos too! Keep em coming...you had a great 2008, and I look forward to next year's reports. I know what you mean about your significant other loving to fish...a bonus indeed!!!
  13. Umm...I'm not quite sure what to say? You know not to post pictures of me during the week when I'm supposed to be at work!!!!! Jeez...where the respect? Death seemed like a ncie guy, think you guys will get together again??
  14. LOL at the cat!!! Great report and pics too!! Great to get out with friends and catch some fish on a nice day like that.
  15. You're on Kemper! You in town this weekend???? LOL. Oh and for the record, early this past spring, I did outfish Mike...I promised not to tell anyone, until he laughed his a$$ of at me for almost being blown into the creek from the 50kph winds that day....haha.
  16. Just read what I wrote in your last gazillion reports...insert same thing here....LOL. Great to spend time with your uncle...I'm sure he had a blast out there with you regardless of the numbers caught.
  17. Wasn't intentional Steve!!! Sorry about the oversight!
  18. Hey Rick...keep a positive attitude through all this and I'm sure everything will turn out fine. Thanks for letting us help you out here...you've done so much for each and every one of us here on the board. Carole and I are thinking of you during these times. Hope to fish with you at Lakair next June...I have lots to learn from you about jigging for walleye and finding pike on that lake!!!
  19. I was fishing a local marina last summer where I was looking for pike and what did I see? A huge muskie sunning itself about 3 feet from shore. Took one look at it, thought pike, until I saw the markings....
  20. I learned the magic of pink worms from CanadianCopper. On a day when roe wasn't working particularly well, he thew me one and wouldn't you know it, it worked. I haven't really given other colours the time they probably deserve...but pink has to be my favourite.
  21. The smiles in these pictures tell the whole story. Fishing, family, friends...doesn't get much better than that. Some of my most memorable outings didn't have big fish in them. Glad that you joined the board too...I've enjoyed reading your reports and look forward to many more!!
  22. Wow...these ice reports are making me cold!!! I don't want to see these until January...LOL. Great report...and one fish is better than what I'm doing...which is sitting on my butt in the living room!
  23. Oh yeah...hope you get better soon...people are getting sick like crazy at the office and at local schools here...
  24. Hey Kemper....great recap. I do have to say, for your age, you show a great amount of maturity in your fishing practices and reports. I always enjoy reading them...you've shown me that there are great fishing opportunities close by...and just when I think nothing is swimming around, I see a report from you! Great year...looking forward to seeing you walking the creeks until they are all locked up!
  25. Wow...I think there are more pictures of fish in this report than I actually caught all year long!!!! Great summary in pictures Leech. Looking forward to seeing you ice reports in real time this winter! Looked like you had a great year...glad you joined the board this past summer...your contributions to the board have not gone unnoticed!
