Wow...thanks for the compliment, but we could never compete with bands like ummmmm.....Goddo??? BTW...I didn't pay him anything to say that...honest....hehe.

Nice job on the pike and great report! Thanks for posting.

Discussions like this typically go nowhere. It was an opinion based thread...and not everyone has the same opinion...and it could lead to nasty comments later. I dont think any more could have been added...it's all been said before and debated to death on here....there are still active threads on this topic.

No problem! I'm used to dressing in all kinds of layers for where I usually fish. I bought a bunch of thermal clothing from Gagnon's during their 50% off sale, so I'm all set. The colder the better where we're going?? Jeez...now you got my mind churning trying to figure it out!! LOL. Let me know what to bring ok? Oh yeah...Friday is the day I'm off. Cliff

Hey Gerritt Thanks for the offer! We may just take you up on that too! We are arriving on evening of Friday June 22nd and will be there until Sunday afternoon. Looking forward to meeting you and all the others...cant wait actually! Cliff

Skunked?? Hmmm...maybe I dont wanna go out with you Friday...LOL. Just joking! Friday is looking frigid right now... -19 for the low and -12 for the high. Let me know if you still want to go....haha.

It'll be our first year this year too! (me and blyght that is). Looking forward to meeting many OFNers that weekend. We are in the same position as you...we are boatless...but it's easier to find someone with one spare spot than two. We'll be just as happy to fish off the docks. We'll be there Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday afternoon. We'd love to stay a longer period of time, but we can only arrange babysitting for those days. We'll take em though!!! As far as Walleye are concerned, we have good luck using assorted crank baits...wallydivers, shad raps and jigs. Mind you...that's shore fishing...I have no idea what you'd use trolling at deeper depths. We use 8 to 10 lb mono line and never had a break bringing one in. We've landed many this fall between 8 and 15 pounds and had great luck using the equipment mentioned above. See you in Lakair! Cliff

Ok...here's my two cents.... I'm fortunate that all my pics have been taken at night, so there is nothing in the background anyways. However, after a particularly great night...I posted a bunch of pics on here. I had PMs of people telling me to make sure no one could use my pics to see where we were....and to keep out spot a secret. I even had one guy look back to all my previous posts and point out where landmarks were that are recognizable...even though the pic was at night. Shore/trib fisherpeople are at a disadvantage when it comes to fishing spots...especially in urban areas. It's one thing to take a pic out on a lake, but in my opinion, the risk is greater for us that the spot will be found/destroyed. Anyhow, photoshop away...I love seeing the pics of the ppl and fish....and reading the reports. It's what brought me to this board in the first place.

Nelly...when you compose the message, check a little lower...you have to check the box that says "save to sent box". You'll be all set then!
-
Nice report and kudos to you for playing it safe....going thru the ice is not worth the potential to maybe catch a fish.
-
Great report! It's nice to see some fishies this time of year. Sounds like you guys had a blast out there.
-
Better safe than sorry...you are providing an excellent service by posting these updates on conditions. Thanks for taking the time...much appreciated!

All I know is that I paid $1.33 in TO a few years ago...post 9-11. Anything under a buck is a bargoon for me.... BTW...it's around 75 cents right now.

The title of this post it "how do I feel"....so here it goes.... I feel that this COLD weather has GOT to go!!!! I wanna fish without 9 layers of clothing on...I wanna fish in short sleeve shirts again...I wanna catch fish again... Ok...now that I've sufficiently wallowed in my own pity, I'm going to bed. BTW...I know I missed the point of this thread...
-
I ALWAYS photoshop my pics....my nose isn't straight and my hair is a mess most of the time. I have to look the best in pics.... Oh wait...did I miss the point?????

Ok...slow day on the board, so I thought I'd share this picture of my 4 year old. We went to BPS and this was the only thing she wanted to buy....a great stuffed fish! I took this picture of her holding her "catch"...dont worry...we had a chat about the vertical hold thing already.... The fish now must sleep with her in her bed. I think we've created a fishing monster!!! She was watching a fishing show the other day and kept saying "I better not watch anymore, cause the more I see, the more I want to go fishing!!!! I WANNA GO FISHING!!!!" She cant wait til spring....and quite frankly, neither can I!
-
Have a great time! Looking forward to some pics of fishies!!!
-
Saw this video yesterday Joey...unbelievable footage! Couldn't help but laugh cause of the "slow motion" accidents!
-
Wow...great report! And great fish! That sure was a fat pike. Great going and thanks for takin the time to post!
-
Yep...a waste of a $100,000 missile....for one fish....hope it was tasty....and fed an army!

PM sent!

Thanks CC...how much do you charge for lessons?? LOL. I'd seriously like to hook up with you some time....as long as your not heading out to your secret spots etc. I wont even put my line in the water...I'll just watch the master at work!!!! I have yet to land a steelie....tried local tribs about 7 times....had one on...and that was it...hehe. Great stuff...always love reading your reports.
-
Awesome CC! I wish I could fish during the daylight...LOL. I saw a float in one of your pics....does bottom fishing work too? I'm assuming since the tribs...at least the smaller ones are low and clear that they are hanging around structure near the trib mouth...I'll have to try that this weekend maybe...
