  1. Great job out there! Awesome pics too! It's great seeing some fishing again with short sleeved shirts on instead of 5 layers of clothing!!
  2. Wow...what a surprise that had to be...looking for a crappie and landing that monster!!! Great job...cool camera mount too! Thanks for the report.
  3. Nice job! YEah...some anglers can be very annoying. The last time someone did that to my wife, she packed up....the guys thought "yeah..she's leaving"...then she proceeded to trample right through the pool with her waders on...LOL.
  4. Nice job Xrap! Even though you didn't get what you were fishing for...at least you gome some fish...and some nice ones at that!
  5. Please...come to Oshawa creek...bring your whole street...town...city!!! Get them out of the creek!!! LOL. Did a little night fishing tonite (see report)....the waters were so clear, when you got up on the bank to take a look, you could literally see 30 of them in one pool. Take em all!!! haha.
  6. Well, with the steel in very low numbers in my area, I decided that I still wanted to catch something...anything...as long as it swam!! Bly and I headed out to do some sucker fishing, since the creeks are filled with them. A few drifts after we got there, I landed this one..... Then I had a nice surprise and landed this AWESOME STEEL!!! LOL Finally, to end the night, I hooked into this one.... It's kind of surprising how much of a fight these suckers put up....they do a pretty good job trying to get away....oh well...until the trout opener, I figure this is what I'll be catching!! Now...I'm tired...gotta get some sleep....
  7. Hey Jason...if you're not doing anything tomorrow afternoon....maybe you and your fiance would like to join us. You mentioned you like to take walks down there anyways. Let me know and we can meet up. Cliff
  8. LOL Jason...I know I wont have to contend with that...just found the pics a little disturbing!! We're headed up there tomorrow to do a little scouting...should be fun seeing all those fish again...they are safe....at least for a little while longer. The next weekend though, it's game on....mind you, they'll all be headed back into the creek after a quick picture...so it's all good
  9. So, with the trout opener coming up fast...I found a few pictures of what opening day may be like. I've never experienced one...so this could be a real eye opener for me!!! Here are a few pics.... So...here's a question...you're the guy in the middle...you get a fish on and it darts left and right.....jeez...how are you supposed to land one without getting tangled in everyone else's lines?
  10. Hey Lew... Lew....here's a link I found to some Lake O data.... http://www.lre.usace.army.mil/_kd/go.cfm?d...amp;pge_id=1139 In summary though...here's the scoop....for Lake Ontario in April.... Current Level - 246.0 feet Long term average - 245.7 feet Average Last Year - 245.0 feet Seems like your "one foot" observation was bang on!!!
  11. Well at least it happened AFTER fishing!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
  12. Another great report!!! I can only hope that in a decade or two that I yield results like you. Keep em coming!!! Keeps me motivated!!!
  13. LOL....when will I learn to just keep my mouth shut????
  14. Ok....let me explain myself...THIS video made me laugh. If I was in a closed space (like a boat) with bly, and this happened, I wouldn't laugh...I'd look to get as far away from her as possible....shiver with fright...and hope that her fishing gear didn't end up in the lake or wrapped around my head
  15. Oh man...thanks for the news! We'll all be thinking of him.....I have a feeling though that with a good tape job for the ribs, he'll be out there slaying trout next weekend!
  16. Here's a pic of me fishing at Bonnie Lake from about 1980.... I think I caught 3 of these....to me back then....that was success....LOL Sorry...wish I had more recent info for you.
  17. He looks like a kid who just had all his Hallowe'en candy taken from him. I think we've all "been there and done that" before. You could feel the disappointment and I'm sure we all envisioned the "big one that got away" from our own experiences. For some reason, it still made me laugh though....LOL
  18. Nice job! I've hooked into 3 or 4 targeting steelhead. Some of them put up a half decent fight!
  19. Wow...I'm speechless.... BELIEVE!!!!
  20. Wait a minute....one fish over two days? That means there was a ssss....ummm a sk....I cant even say it (that smelly animal)...oh man...the whole fabric of my reality has just been shaken up!!! I can understand a smelly animal in January...but...I'm speechless. If you aren't gonna try, then I guess I wont bother either....LOL. Tried some fishing yesterday and all I caught were two suckers...guess I should consider myself lucky!!!
  21. Welcome to the board!!! My wife (bly on the board) and I started fishing last summer....our equipment consisted of a pair of $30 rod and reel combos from Canadian Tire and a few spoons and lures. With the help of great people on this board, we are able to fairly successfully target species we are after. Good luck!
  22. LOL...Thanks for explaining the space bar thing.... although next time do that at the beginning. It was taking me forever to read...you know....pausing after each period.
  23. Which Oak Lake? I just did a topo search and it found Oak Lakes in Peterborough, Algoma, Hastings, Parry Sound, Victoria, Kenora, Thunder Bay, and Nippissing. Here's one site to purchase...not sure if it's the right Oak Lake though..... http://www.maptown.com/canadiantopographical/52k.html
  24. Wow...what an awesome prize pack!!! Like Fish On said...can you post the pics that won you that sweet prize?
  25. Yep...did some fishing yesterday...landed 2 suckers...a bunch more stole my roe and bit at my jigs. Must have been a dozen in the hole we were fishing...could see them just sitting there!!
