Congrats!!! I knew it was just a matter of time...I now expect daily reports....each one with bigger and bigger carp!!! LOL.

Nice job guys!!! It's great when two great members of this board get together and have some success out there. Tbayboy, bly and I got together last night and had the big skunko...LOL. Great job...nice pics.

Well, TBayBoy PMd me late yesterday afternoon after my post about where to fish last night. He decided he'd make the trek out our way to meet up with bly and I! He's a great guy to fish wish...even brought coffee and timbits! We tried 3 different places and the end result was no big fish. I brought in a few bullhead...that's it! The first place we went, the waters were just MUD! Tried another place and suddenly the winds picked up BIG TIME and we could barely cast. Before we knew it, it was past midnight!! Turns out that we work in basically the same building in Toronto...small world. It was great meeting him...you can tell from his posts that he's a class act all the way...we're glad we had an opportunity to fish together. Maybe next time we'll catch something!!! He took a pic of one of my catches...maybe he'll post it later....

Took my little one fishing today....man...it was worse than the Trout opener on an eastern trib!!! LOL. I had my 5 year old distract a parent and I took out 2 kids and we found our spot to fish...hehe. Seemed there was an OFAH event there....a "Take your kid fishing" day. Wish I knew about it...it was just ending as we arrived. Before long, I brought in this crayfish...it had a stranglehold on my worm!!! My little one pulled this nice on in...there were a few kids watching her...at least 3 or 4 years older than her, and they all yelled....MOM!!! THIS LITTLE GIRL CAUGHT A FISH...LOOOOOK!!!! PUT A WORM BACK ON MY HOOK!!!! Guess they figured if a little kid like that can catch one, then they could too...little do they know my little one outfishes me!! haha. I thought I was all prepared...she had sunscreen on, had snacks, water, even toiletries. Then shortly after her sunfish, she started scratching...she had about 5 nice welts...courtesy of the local mosquito population. She wanted to leave....all the way back to the car I heard "Daddy...why didn't you bring the bug spray??" Oh well, next time we'll be more prepared!!! LOL

LOL...when we fish during the week it's only for a few hours. We put our little one to bed at 8pm, and our 15 year old babysits. We then go out til about 10pm...back at home by 1020 and in bed by 11. I have to get up at 530 for work during the week....haha.

Mike...what a great dad you are! Looks like you two had a wonderful time out there. She was all smiles it seems! Bly and I were just talking about taking our kids on our first family camping trip...not sure how that will turn out though...LOL. Thanks for the report...your little girl is a sweetie!

Hehe...you're on Scugog right? We thought of that (Fishing Scugog tonight...not firewood and beer...LOL). We frequented there late last summer to try and catch some walleye from shore....never caught one though...

My 15 year old daughter wants something....she offered to babysit this late afternoon and night....it must be money....LOL. So that being said, if you had time to fish....from say 5pm til Midnight or 1:00am, where would you go? There is a catch though (pun intended)....we will be fishing from shore. Anywhere within a 45 minute to an hour drive from Oshawa is ideal.....anyone want to join us? We're not picky...we'd look for walleye, pike, carp....whatever! LOL. We have a few places in mind, but just wondering what other's would do?

Wow...I learn something new every day. I have been reading a lot about Carp fishing lately, and not a single article on Carp bait have they even mentioned using worms! I was just being funny putting a worm on the hook, some Powerbait on the hook shank and a boilie on the hair rig...LOL. I figured I'd put a buffet of food out there for them and see what tickled their fancy... GCD - Now that I think of it, she may be sandbagging...I'll have to check her lures to see if there are even hooks on there!!! MTP - Yep...probably did jinx myself by making that crack about bly getting good with the net...haha. 007 - Since I shore fish, I tend to target whatever is in the area at the time...I dont have the luxury to go and find a preferred species! It is rewarding though...going out and targeting them and catching a few!

Wow...what an awesome trip...love the pics and that camera mount is great! Only fit a 42" fish? Oh...that's too bad....LOL. I'm not the most coordinated person, so I'd be nervous fishing in a kayak, but you guys seem to have it all figured out...sucks about that fishing rod too!!! ACK!

Great report...I remember reading your first post about all the species you wanted to catch this year. This installment was great! Pics were awesome as was the commentary...and you had a nice yummy snack to top it off....awaiting your next report!

First I read Wayne's post and now this one.....ACK!!! I think maybe I'll get a canoe...although with my luck the paddles will be electronic and computer chip controlled and something will happen to them....haha. Sorry to hear about your trip...you'll get out there and start catching fish!! Oh yeah...glad to hear the damage wasn't too bad from your drain plug incident!!
