DOLLARAMA PIKE , MEPPS HOMEMADE MAMBO REPORTS
ccmtcanada replied to snag's topic in General Discussion
That was pretty cool Snag! Loved the shots of the lures in action too! You are right...fishing can be expensive, but it doesn't really have to be. That boat shot was classic and loved the 'sky' shot with you and that pike! -
Fishing Tournament In Montreal Today
ccmtcanada replied to Mike the Pike's topic in General Discussion
Mike, The way I look at it, in order to be a complete fisherman, you must have all the skills....and this includes netting fish...LOL. Fishing with bly, I get lots of practise at it Too bad about the skunk, but a crappy day on the water beats a good day at work any day!! Great pics of your day...at least the weather cooperated with you. I hope you have much better luck next weekend....you have a full fishing season planned it seems! Cliff -
Good job Roy...I'm sure that one you brought home will be very happy there. You have an aquarium big enough for him??? LOL Lookin forward to seeing you up at Lakair....wow...just a few short weeks....

Should have known the Carp would be off....

We've been checking our Walleye spots...and NADA!! The are not in close where we can catch them yet....I'm hoping that they do cruise by, or else they'll be heading deep into the lake as the waters warm. At least we have the fall to look forward too for them!! In the meantime, we'll be wettin some lines up at Lakair...and have a few trips planned with some board members....we'll be busy this summer that's for sure! -
Taking a break sometimes can make a world of difference! Congrats on the two fish...they are pretty good sized pike. Great shot of the shoreline too. It's still early...why are you not still fishing?? LOL
-
Oh yeah...a couple more things.... That is not MY spot....it's a public spot....but I do appreciate you keeping it to yourself The picture of that log you have there...what you forgot to mention, is that it shows only a small portion of it!!! LOL. And finally...thanks for picking up some trash from the area. We do the same thing when we are there...it's not the most scenic spot to fish, but we can at least do our share to keep it garbage free. Oh yeah...that photoshopped pic of the area makes the spot look nicer than it actually is....LOL. Congrats again...I"m gonna have to try this day time fishing thing...it looks fun....LOL.

Bly went out last night and cleaned up at our spot last night!!! I then find out that Wolfville went this morning and did the same. I should have known there wouldn't be any fish left for me tonight...but I hadn't read his report yet!!! Shortly after I got there, I somehow hooked into this monster as I was retrieving...checking my rig. My boilie was bigger than the fish....LOL I fished for more hours than I want to admit (about 6 hours) and only got one fish. The bite was slow from the get go....no line bumps, hardly any jumping carp at all tonight. It wasn't until 11pm that I landed this 34.5", 20 pound 6 ounce fishy. At least I didn't walk away with that skunk smell on me!! Instead, I walked away smelling of mosquito repellent....and fishy hands....LOL. I'm instituting a new rule....I want 24 hours notice when Wolfville fishes at my local swim....I can plan to fish somewhere else....where there are still some fish left. PS....Thanks for all who gave us some spots to try for panfish in the Haliburton area. As it turned out, our plans changed at the last minute and we were not able to fish this morning as originally planned!!!

I'm very happy that the swim produced for you!!! It wont win any beauty awards that's for sure!!! LOL. It's a good thing I couldn't accompany you...everyone else we've taken fishing to our spots has pretty much been skunked!!! LOL It is an interesting swim to say the least....the log didn't really bother us until recently...then again they are getting more and more active now. I see you fished it from the same side we do...too hard to cast to the good spots from the other side. I do have to make a mental note....do NOT fish there after bly goes 4 for 5 the night before and then you fish it in the morning....both of you getting PBs!!!! I went out tonite...and didn't fare as well as you two that's for sure (report to come). Anyhow, congrats on a very successful day out there...your report had me laughing...esp the lost fish story!! We've been there and done that in that spot too...as you can probably imagine!! We will have to get together at some point this summer....bly and I would love to fish with you!
-
Ok then...I'd be interested...LOL...would depend on the weekend of course....my summer is filling up quickly! You may want to change the topic thread by "full editing" the post....may get more interest that way!

Problem with environment canada's site is it gives wind speeds at the top of the hour only....the odd time you'll get one that's somewhere in between....but not very often. The winds here in Whitby were pretty awesome too for about 10 minutes. It blew my weather station off the roof...pretty impressive since it's been up there for 2 years without any problems!!!
-
Sounds like a great idea...only problem with me is: 1) I only have daughters 2) I don't have a boat...LOL. Hopefully others will take you up on this idea...sounds like a great G2G idea!
-
Niiiiice going Shawn!!! Some great shots there! Seeing the fishfinder/gps shots and fish were pretty cool. Great shots of the boat as well...it's looking sweet!
-
Jeez...can the wording be more complicated? Cant fish 2 steps to the right of the bridge, UNLESS you wear size 13 shoe, on even numbered days in alternating months beginning in March of this year through to the last moon phase in November, except in a leap year. See exceptions for leap year.
-
LOL...I left the office at Yonge/Eglinton at 3:40...got on the 4:10 train eastbound...got off the train at 4:45, and walked in the door by 5....not too bad....hehe. And stop hijacking mo's thread...haha
-
Well, I read up on it...looks like it's gonna happen. Going to cash all my rrsp's tomorrow and buy me a boat!!! WOO HOO!!!
-
Great to hear you got out on the water Maureen! The breeze was probably nice since it was so hot and humid today too. Sorry to hear about the sunburn....but at least you got some practice with the new rod and reel in
-
Great pics Paul! Gotta love the power of nature...always been a storm lover myself.
-
Great pics and fish there!!! I have never seen a fish that small on a treble like that before...LOL. Did you release it??? haha. Good thinking explaining the C&R/seasons for bass in your area too!
-
When my 5 year old tells me that something isn't fair...I say/half sing..... "You dont always get what you want....you dont always get what you want....But if you try sometimes you might find You get what you need" She looks at me like I'm from another planet....LOL
-
Separate corners of the house? C'mon!! You gotta burn it!!! Destroy it!!! Dont give it away....dont sell it in a garage sale....it'll come back!!! LOL.
-
Nice picture report! Some real nice fish too....you should post more often!
-
Those newer pics are great....can really see the colours and markings! It's so relaxing out on a trib where you are the only one around....seeing the float go down is pure heaven to me!
-
Thanks everyone for your replies...I love seeing my daughter's face light up when she brings in a fish. She tried her best to sabotage me...by singing. When she sings to her line it's something like "I promise it's not a hook...it's yummy yummy food...go ahead and take a bite". Then she looks at my line and sings "Stay away fish, it's a hook...it's a trick...swim away". Then she smiles and laughs hysterically. Victor - Sure we get skunked....well there was a few days ago...no wait...we caught one...oh yeah...last Thursday...no wait...we got one then too.....guess you're right!! LOL. Seriously though, we get our fair share of skunks. Deano - Waterskiing...that's hilarious! I kept thinking to myself...I hope a carp doesn't take her bait....haha.
-
Yep...that's why I took the train today.... Commuting from Toronto to Oshawa area on a Friday is bad enough!! Throw in rain, hot and humid and no air conditioning in the car and the train is an easy choice....LOL
-
WOW!! Congrats!! Urban Planning...so you head to an undeveloped area....look around...find out if any fish are there and if so then recommend leave it as is??? haha. Seriously...it's a great accomplishment...enjoy your summer before the "little" thesis comes up!!
