Roy..thanks for posting all those pics! We've saved them all on our computer. We have a few shots, but realized that there were a few people we never did get in a picture.

LOL Shawn....you are right!! The other categories are.... Largemouth Bass Muskie Walleye Salmon Whitefish Hopefully bly and I can get into big Walleye this fall again. The Salmon could be caught in a trib. The largie, muskie and whitefish could be tough without a boat.....hint hint....LOL.

Good luck HH!! It's always a pain in the butt moving, but it's also exciting at the same time. Hope the move goes smoothly and that nothing of huge value breaks...LOL. See you back here next week sometime.

At the beginning of the year, I decided that I'd try to catch 5 species as recognized by the OFAH minimum size standards. With that, bly and I decided to try a few new types of fishing in order to attain that goal...one was float fishing for trout and the other was bottom fishing for carp. The smallie that I caught in Nipissing's boat at Lakair this past weekend happened to be my 5th species!! Here's a little summary of the qualifying fish.... A few other goals included catching my first Muskie (also accomplished at Lakair), and my other is landing a nice Salmon. I figure my best opportunity for the Salmon will be the fall runs on the tribs. Oh yeah...in looking at the current Avid Anglers on their site, I noticed that our very own pikeie also has attained this status!! Congrats pikeie!!

Next on the list? I'd have to say I'll have to get my first Salmon, but I'll have to wait until the fall runs. I have a new float rod just waiting for them!!! Thanks everyone for your comments...it was truly an unforgettable experience, and anyone who was on the fence on coming out, I urge you to go next year!!! -
Oh yeah...and also that little thing called a Smog Advisory!! That's that thing where they warn people to limit their outdoor activities...jeez.

Great report and congrats on your marriage! Looks like a great time was had despite the reel in the suitcase thing....haha. Cool looking fish...nice BIG teeth too!!!
-
It's a steamer out there for sure!! Even yesterday, bly and I tried to fish for a bit during the day. We didn't last too long....hardly even a breeze! If anyone goes out there, make sure you have TONS of water and keep your head covered!

It's on the west arm of Lake Nipissing. The main event is on a Saturday....but people go up before hand or stay the following week as well. Prices vary from camping to cottages. Check out their website at www.lakair.com Not sure about dates yet, but I'm told it's usually around the same time every year in June.

Great post Julie. They do grow up too fast dont they? You mentioned being proud of her...and you should be...she's a GREAT little girl. The smile on her face really tells the story though. Congrats on a wonderful milestone!

What a great report! Must have had your heart pounding the whole time!!! Bly and I have a theory about nets and cameras....if you have everything you need to land fish, you'll catch big ones...LOL. Looks like it held true for you as well...haha.

Great report!!! There is something about the air up there...I dont think I've smiled and laughed as much as that since.....well...ever!!!

LOL...great report Mike! An by the way, I blame cold fronts all the time...haha. At least your son still got into some fish....all these great memories are building up, and he'll truly appreciate them as he gets older. You know he'll be sitting around a campfire at some point with his high school/university buddies and telling stories about fishing with his Dad. THAT'S what it's all about!!

SWEEEET report!!! Even though you didn't get your bass, I'm sure you're ecstatic about your day on the water!!! I'd love to hook into ANY fish that size, but to get a muskie is pure bonus. Great work and great pics!!

Congrats Julie!!! Way to go...those awards are sweet and it's a great program the OFAH has going there. We have some of those awards as well....framed underneath the pics of the fish we've caught. Hope to see you getting more of those in the future!

Great report!!! I know the feeling about fish mocking you...happens to me all the time!! LOL. Good on you for getting out there though. Any day fishing is never a waste...even if you get skunked. I learn the most about fishing on those days.
