With the BOQ G2G coming up, I want to be prepared. I got a new Shimano trolling rod and a Okuma Magda Pro reel with line counter. The guys at the local tackle shop spooled it with 14 pound mono. They said if I wanted a different line, to just come back and they'd take care of me. So, here's the question. When trolling on BOQ for Walleye, what line would you suggest (type and lb test) and why? I'm new to this fishing in a boat thing....any input would be apprecaited. Thanks!

Ummm...you've turned to this forum for an answer like that? LOL. Gotta love the logic of kids...my 5 year old asks some doozies as well! I did a quick search on google...type in "who created God" (with the quotation marks). You'll get lots of returns.... Here's an excerpt from one.... I dont own a boat, but I see one in my future. I'd probably be hesitant to take it up there if I knew I'd have to wait to have it inspected. I have enough lines I have to get in living in the GTA....that's another one I dont need...especially since it takes me 4 hours just get that far north.

From what I hear, they are worth nothing and will in fact COST you to dispose of them. Tell you what, I'll come take them off your hands for nothing.

Oh man Mike....this is terrible news. Fifty one is far too young. We're very sorry to hear this news. We'll have him, as well as yourself and anyone else who knows him in our thoughts and prayers. I sometimes hold the rod that way too....but only when my index finger cramps up and I have to change positions for a minute or two. I also sometimes hold the reel upside down....but that's only when I use someone else's setup. I'm a right hand retrieve and most people reel with their left.

No idea about that....head down there and throw some lures...that's the best way to know for sure. Welcome to the board!
