  1. Man...what a report. I think this kind of report personifies what this site is all about...fishing and friends. I have a rather large lump in my throat as I type this. You guys are great friends to him....in his time of need. Just being with you guys out there I'm sure meant the world to him. His time may be short, but this trip will be remembered forever. My heart goes out to you guys...these are hard times.
  2. Hey John. Great intro! You were right in posting it in a new thread...I missed this before. Brief hiatus?? LOL. It's great you are back into fishing again...looking forward to you reports and PICTURES of your outings...hehe. We do like pics here, even if it's just scenery. Welcome to the best spot on the net.
  3. And I thought I was having a bad day......
  4. Welcome to the board duckdog. Wish I could help you out...I'm not from that area....but wanted to welcome you to this community.
  5. Congrats on the first one of the year! It's a great looking fish...as for the lure, well, it seems to be hot just about everywhere. Congrats again....great job....and nice to see fellow anglers lending a helping hand out there.
  6. Welcome! This is the best place on the net! Looking forward to your reports.
  7. Welcome to the board! Happy to see your decided to join based on your observations over the past little while. It is like a family...comes with the good and the bad, but overall, this is the best place on the net! Looking forward to your reports and input on boats...as my wife bly already said, we're likely going to be in the boat market next year.
  8. Just heard on 680 news that the opened the tracks for Go Trains eastbound...then the fire dept closed them again for safety reasons until further notice. It's a bad day to be a commuter.
  9. Great to see you back and fishing! Nice fish too. Take it easy...back injuries are never fun...and rushing back into things is almost always a recipe for disaster.
  10. Wow...thanks everyone for your replies and PMs. Cant wait to use this stuff...LOL
  11. Cleos work. Go try it.
  12. Are you insinuating that I snagged it? I hope not. Blood comes out of the mouth and runs down...gravity, when I weighed it vertically it ran down. Here's another one caught with a cleo... Notice the blood in the mouth? I hope this answers your question. Any more questions?
  13. Nope...they are a gimmick. Dont make a bit of difference. Please, will everyone stop buying them in my area? I cant find them anywhere anymore!!!! I threw regular cleos after dark for salmon for weeks....not a single fish landed. I started using glow in the dark ones 2 weeks ago...landed 5. Could be a coincidence, or the fish were not there before, but since I now have confidence in them I'll continue to use them.
  14. Great results!!! Nice work on the lures as well....always feels good when you catch em on something home made.
  15. Congrats! Now that you are 'official', I'm sure the fish will start lining up to take your bait.
  16. Too much info!!!!
  17. Hey...great job! I find the only way to know for sure is to head down there and take a look. I fish almost exclusively from shore (cant afford a boat), so doing the legwork and trying is the best way to find the fish. What was swimming around and biting one day can be completely different on another day. Glad to hear you got out and caught some fish!
  18. Damn...I was hoping you'd say "Completely idiot proof" so that maybe I could use it.....
  19. Wont cost you anything...but you may get punched in the face....LOL
  20. We use a camera flash and it works quite well. So you dont wear out your batteries in your own camera for when you catch your monster, go to Goodwill or another second hand shop and buy a cheap camera with a flash. We have a few....the cost will be between $3 and $5, plus batteries of course.
  21. Hey Raf... Here's an article that I think mentions those muskie lures.... http://www.fishontario.com/fishing/muskie/...1576&page=1 The website does not work, but there are a few contact phone numbers.... J & J Lures, 20 Oak Crt., Aurora, Ont. L4G 3J6 Jim Kelly 905-939-7240 Jim Roberts 905-727-9357 Email: [email protected] www.depthmaster.hypermart.net Wonder if this is the company?
  22. With the BOQ G2G coming up, I want to be prepared. I got a new Shimano trolling rod and a Okuma Magda Pro reel with line counter. The guys at the local tackle shop spooled it with 14 pound mono. They said if I wanted a different line, to just come back and they'd take care of me. So, here's the question. When trolling on BOQ for Walleye, what line would you suggest (type and lb test) and why? I'm new to this fishing in a boat thing....any input would be apprecaited. Thanks!
  23. Gotta love profanity filter...LOL. I know what you mean...I was hoping you could have explained it to me....haha.
  24. Great photoshop, I think it's pretty cool that you catch them in your backyard....LOL.
  25. Ummm...you've turned to this forum for an answer like that? LOL. Gotta love the logic of kids...my 5 year old asks some doozies as well! I did a quick search on google...type in "who created God" (with the quotation marks). You'll get lots of returns.... Here's an excerpt from one.... IN SUMMARY The universe (including time itself) can be shown to have had a beginning. It is unreasonable to believe something could begin to exist without a cause. The universe therefore requires a cause, just as Genesis 1:1 and Romans 1:20 teach. God, as creator of time, is outside of time. Since therefore He has no beginning in time, He has always existed, so doesn't need a cause. Good luck explaining that....LOL.
