Wow Joey! What an amazing report! I'm very happy to hear you and Paul had such a great time out there. Your pictures were incredible. My favs were the rainbow, early fog on the water, and there's that one shot of the fall colours...reflected in the water...you have a wonderful eye for photos. Maybe your should start a thread in the photography section about fall colours. Great looking smallie and pike you got there....oh yeah...I guess Paul did good too...hehe. Trolling for muskie and got pike? Bly and I were out with fishnsled on Saturday (report later), trolling for muskie and all I got was Walleye....LOL. Thanks for this report...must have taken forever to pick, resize and edit photos to post...it was a real treat to read.

LOL....what a great report....very funny read! I pound the shore mostly for salmon as well...and you described to a T what shore fishing is all about. My wife and I have said "You know those reports you hear on the news....Dead body found by local hiker/fisherman? That'll be us one day"....LOL. Welcome to the board...looking forward to more reports from you now that the salmon...I mean work keeps you in town...

Well, I believe the last report was about Bly's first ever shore Salmon. We went out a few more times over the week and here are the results. With the piers and mouths of tribs so crowded these days, we decided to try a few different tactics. After our success on the tribs with Bly's Salmon, we tried again, and this time I hooked up with a nice Chinook....weighing in at 19 pounds and measuring 37.5 inches!! This one put up an awesome fight...took about 15 minutes to bring in. The release.... We went out one other time and got skunked....went 0 for 2 in that time. Finally, we changed venues and headed out in our canoe....looking to hook up with our first big fish in it! It didn't take long...about 20 minutes into casting and retrieving, this very well fed male smashed my lure! It hit very close to the canoe and shot straight under it. ACK!!! Had to somehow manouvre myself around to face the other direction while fighting this fish without tipping the canoe...LOL. After about 10 minutes, with Bly ready with the net, he finally came into the boat. This one wasn't as long as my other one, coming in at 34 inches, but it weighed the same....had some pretty good girth. Anyhow, that was our rest of the week summary...hope you enjoyed!

Great job out there Brian! That's one great looking muskie! Congrats on the first of the year. Since I'm assuming you typed this at home, it must have been a disaster free outing. Maybe the hex is finally off of you! Hope I didn't just start it again by mentioning it....hehe.

My Quest continues – Late Pigeon Lake Report
ccmtcanada replied to 007's topic in General Discussion
Woo hoo!!! Crappie check! Walleye check! Great job out there...this quest has been a real treat for me to follow this year. Thanks! -
Man...what a report. I think this kind of report personifies what this site is all about...fishing and friends. I have a rather large lump in my throat as I type this. You guys are great friends to him....in his time of need. Just being with you guys out there I'm sure meant the world to him. His time may be short, but this trip will be remembered forever. My heart goes out to you guys...these are hard times.

Hey John. Great intro! You were right in posting it in a new thread...I missed this before. Brief hiatus?? LOL. It's great you are back into fishing again...looking forward to you reports and PICTURES of your outings...hehe. We do like pics here, even if it's just scenery. Welcome to the best spot on the net.

And I thought I was having a bad day......

Welcome to the board duckdog. Wish I could help you out...I'm not from that area....but wanted to welcome you to this community.
-
Congrats on the first one of the year! It's a great looking fish...as for the lure, well, it seems to be hot just about everywhere. Congrats again....great job....and nice to see fellow anglers lending a helping hand out there.
-
Welcome! This is the best place on the net! Looking forward to your reports.

Welcome to the board! Happy to see your decided to join based on your observations over the past little while. It is like a family...comes with the good and the bad, but overall, this is the best place on the net! Looking forward to your reports and input on boats...as my wife bly already said, we're likely going to be in the boat market next year.

Just heard on 680 news that the opened the tracks for Go Trains eastbound...then the fire dept closed them again for safety reasons until further notice. It's a bad day to be a commuter.
-
Great to see you back and fishing! Nice fish too. Take it easy...back injuries are never fun...and rushing back into things is almost always a recipe for disaster.
-
Wow...thanks everyone for your replies and PMs. Cant wait to use this stuff...LOL
-
Cleos work. Go try it.
-
Are you insinuating that I snagged it? I hope not. Blood comes out of the mouth and runs down...gravity, when I weighed it vertically it ran down. Here's another one caught with a cleo... Notice the blood in the mouth? I hope this answers your question. Any more questions?
-
Nope...they are a gimmick. Dont make a bit of difference. Please, will everyone stop buying them in my area? I cant find them anywhere anymore!!!! I threw regular cleos after dark for salmon for weeks....not a single fish landed. I started using glow in the dark ones 2 weeks ago...landed 5. Could be a coincidence, or the fish were not there before, but since I now have confidence in them I'll continue to use them.
-
Great results!!! Nice work on the lures as well....always feels good when you catch em on something home made.
-
Congrats! Now that you are 'official', I'm sure the fish will start lining up to take your bait.
-
Too much info!!!!
-
Hey...great job! I find the only way to know for sure is to head down there and take a look. I fish almost exclusively from shore (cant afford a boat), so doing the legwork and trying is the best way to find the fish. What was swimming around and biting one day can be completely different on another day. Glad to hear you got out and caught some fish!
-
Damn...I was hoping you'd say "Completely idiot proof" so that maybe I could use it.....
-
Wont cost you anything...but you may get punched in the face....LOL

We use a camera flash and it works quite well. So you dont wear out your batteries in your own camera for when you catch your monster, go to Goodwill or another second hand shop and buy a cheap camera with a flash. We have a few....the cost will be between $3 and $5, plus batteries of course.
