For and against Water separator/Fuel filter
ccmtcanada replied to icefisherman's topic in General Discussion
I'm in the same boat as cranks (not literally)....well, I'm not all drugged up, but I also have an older 1983 two stroke. -
he sets the hook a fight ensues it's a new PB Log. He then says "snag"

Wow...I'm too cheap to buy big name expensive rods. I recently broke two lower end shimanos that were under a year old and took them back to the local tackle store I purchased them at. It took a little while, but they were both replaced with NEW rods....free of charge. The store didn't even charge me for the shipping that they incurred from Shimano.

Thanks Bill...when I said I was naive about them, I wasn't kidding. Do people use them to hunt wild game too?

I hear what everyone is saying about banning handguns is not the answer, as the problem is not with registered users who are law abiding. I also understand that the ones used in crime are not registered, so what good is the registry. I may be completely naive here, but if we make it just a little bit tougher for someone to get one...legally or not, would it sway a kid who is teetering with the idea of getting one? Especially if they have no idea where to begin to look? Could it stop ONE person from obtaining one and killing someone or themselves with it? If so, would that be worth it? What if that person was your child? I understand the right to protect yourself, your family and property. You hear stories about people being shot with their own guns during a robbery, because they panic or cant keep calm with a loaded one when the situation arises. How often do we hear that a home was broken into and the guy ran away because the owner had a gun? Or that a homeowner shot someone who was breaking into their house? Maybe I just miss those stories or the media doesn't report on them. Another naive thought of mine is the use of handguns. What is their primary use? I really dont know the answer to this...as I've never hunted, but do people hunt deer or other game with handguns? Are there competitions for handguns? I know I've seen rifles used in target shooting competitions and biathalon etc, but I dont remember seeing anything smiliar with handguns, except maybe at shooting ranges for practise. Like I said, I am pretty naive when it comes to hand guns, their use, and ownership....I'm just trying to understand all sides of this issue.

Nice report! Gald to see you made it up there and back safely. Nothing like white knuckle driving when you are trying to relax! Good to hear the fishing was pretty good too. Thanks for the report!

Yep...at least a few times a year, bly and I head down to our favourite creek armed with garbage bags. It amazing how quickly they get filled with Tim Hortons cups, fishing line, beer bottles and lunch wrappers.

Amazing! 20lb'er on 4 pound test. Must have been a great fight for 30 minutes. At least fighting a fish keeps you warm. Great pics and catches....thanks for the report!

Wow Brian...it used to be the problems would happen to you...now they come to you!!! Hope the driver is ok...just because they walk away doesn't mean they are not hurt pretty badly. It's amazing what shock can do to your system. Happened to my brother...someone hit him, he got out of the car, got all mad that the guy hit his new car. The guy came over and told him to sit down, but he wouldn't because he was looking at the damage. After the cops and the ambulance arrived, my brother noticed he had to keep wiping his eyes...he cut hit head and the blood kept going in his eyes. Shortly after that, he collapsed. He was fine, but that adrenaline and shock kept him going for a while before it wore off. Anyhow, the pics were pretty good considering they are night shots.

Who said we didn't think you were not a perv??? LOL Only kidding of course.... My first internet handle was "fret"...which is a part of a guitar...not someone who worries all the time. It morphed into ccmt because many sites years ago had to have at least 4 characters to a username. I added the 'canada' part because believe it or not, ccmt was taken already when I joined yahoo. Some people thought I worked for the hockey company ccm, and others thought the cmt meant "Country music television". If you've seen my band's videos, you know this is NOT the case...LOL.

I like the good ole pink/white twister tail for jigging.

Thanks Charles...that answers my question!

LOL...great pics Snag. Looking forward to your first father/son fishing report. You do have equipment for him right???
-
I gathered that from the other responses, however, I was thinking about the officers in the booth having access to criminal records. I didn't think they by default checked your criminal record on a computer right there while they are chatting with you in your car.

Not at all jedi...just that I hate cold weather, so I thought I'd just use this as another excuse not to icefish....
-
This is why I dont ice fish....LOL. Hope it gets fixed soon....haha
-
LOL...warn him, put a note in his file, warn him again, and then tell him to hit the road.... I am pretty tolerant of most things, but people being late consistently drives me up the wall!

Great report! The pics were amazing as well. At least you got into some fish while you were there. Good job!

Wow...stories like this aren't helping convince me to start ice fishing...LOL. Glad to hear she was safe and although the ride home was a long one, you fared much better than those 100 or so cars that were in that pileup.
