  1. LOL verno...that's why I made the hole the height of the gunnels. No water will come in!
  2. Even Lake Temagami is wide open. The entire North end and hub area is wide open. Still boating the lake. The elders on Bear Island have never seen open water this late in the year.
  3. Yah thats my Tinny Mike. I guess my photoshop skills aren't that good (or should I say I know they're not) but I tried to put a fishing hole in the boat for you!
  4. ..for those that are bound and determined to fish over the holidays...staring down a hole...using a short little rod..... we have the answer for you just in time for Christmas. Mike the Pike has first right of refusal on the prototype!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
  5. For my 80 yr 7 month old Mother to see just a few more Christmas days. Just back from visiting her for a few days and unfortunately I have a feeling that it won't be long before she joins my father...that I also made my Christmas visit with at the cemetary, as I left Smiths Falls.
  6. Maybe it's just Crestliner paint....did you see the crease Percher put in his Lund without marring the paint! LOL I'm kiddin Richard.....
  7. Gee...are there voting or non-voting shares available for purchase?
  8. I could just imagine what that would do to the hull when the winds/waves kick in! If you can get that on the shoreline just back your trailer in and leave it instead!
  9. Love seeing that "Old school" is still in !
  10. What ever "floats your boat" I guess Troy. If it worked it worked but I sure wouldn't be doing it. Someone here on OFC went thru the nightmare of attempting to clean that stuff off of a hull and I'd imagine it wouldn't do anything for top end speed either.
  11. I think you should have just invited her south for a few weeks and had her paint the hole wall Steve! Looks great Pam...now quit practicing...when you gonna paint my bird?..that didn't sound right... LOL
  12. Guess you missed the other 2 or 3 threads on the go about this! LOL Biggest expense if you want to do it yourself...2 heavy hammers..a 5 lb sledge for the "bucking bar" and a 3 lb ball peen for the striking hammer. The box liner trick will come back to bite you in the a$$ !
  13. Sounds like you may actually have a crack somewhere. If you get the floor out have a really good look. They can be difficult to see but will radiate out of a rivet hole generally. As was already pointed out a "bucking bar" is nothing but a heavy hunk of metal...but with a polished face that forms the shop head of the rivet when using a rivet gun on the outside/mfg's head. As I pointed out right at the start of this thread you can also use two heavy hammers with as much success. Seam leaks can be fixed by scrubbing the area with coarse 3M scotchbrite...cleaning with Acetone and then sealing with Sikaflex 391. Same can be done over a small crack..although the proper thing to do in your case before the floor went back down would be a proper alum patch riveted in place over the cracked area. If you want a hand...once the floor is out bring it to Penetang and we'll sort it out together. Wayne
  14. Haven't seen that stuff Glen. Next time I'm in Walmart I'll grab some and give it a go on an old Cessna tail fin I have in the hangar and see what it does for 40 year old paint and zinc chromate primer.
  15. Percher has nothing to lose Ron...well at least I don't! We'd go fishing first and then take a WACK at his boat afterwards! LOL
  16. If that's the case then the suspect rivets could all be "set" again or replaced if necessary while you had the floor out. Generally a re-set on most of them that are easy to get at will put an end to any leaks. I did the 12' tinney at the lake, summer of '05, with my daughter holding the bucking bar on the inside. We did every accessible rivet in about 1/2 an hour. Went from the leaks filling the boat 2 to 3 inches in a day to zip for weeks at a time.... much to her appreciation as she was using it to go back and forth to work at Temagami Shores in Dress pants.
  17. And here I thought it was "political" and gonna get pulled immediately. Nothing political...just big business like all the people that buy clothing with some companies advertising, Nike/etc on it. That stuffs gotta be free or I'll never touch it. On the othere hand a hooded sweater from Lakair Lodge is a gotta have ! LOL This makes me think John...I may need to make a phone call in the am. I told TMarine not as much as a sticker on the boat from them (same as I do with every vehicle I buy)...but never gave thought to LUND across the sides. I know mines not built/painted yet. To think I could have spent thousands more and asked for a Verado special edition logo and seats as well, to advertise for them some more.
  18. Sounds like a plan Dan! LOL Gerritt..we won't induce any stress into 5052 taking that back out properly...but like I said what do I know about aluminum. The paint I can't guarantee...but I don't think we'll hurt it either. Too bad we can't put the boat on it's side and run it back and forth thru the English Wheel ! It's also amazing what you can do with 1/2 a pound of lard and an oak rubbing stick.
  19. Well I'm leaving Tuesday am..but will be back Thur night late. You could bring it up Friday if you want and we can work it out...or some other convient time thru the winter/spring. Shouldn't be a big deal with a carpeted chunk of oak held tight on the outside and a flush face in my rivet gun on the inside.
  20. The dock as someone leaned over to catch it! Access available on the inside Dan? ..what is this "how to work with aluminum" night? Gerritt...you got the hair on my back up and an ill feeling happening.."drill holes and pull it out"
  21. Peter just asked were Steve was and here he is! Sounded like a great day on the water David and like's been said many times around here...."never listen to the weatherman". Fish haven't moved in a month I see.
