  1. Thanks Phil...always a great day when I see a Beaver....let alone get into one.
  2. All depends when they actually start pushing Ice Maureen. They said 4pm in the paper and that could be when they plan to arrive way out by the reserve and then start working their way in. If the weather cooperates I may get out for a flight tomorrow. I'll have a look to see if they are coming in yet and repost. To watch from Shore.. Probably the only spot would be where you met Photoz to fish at the coal dock and once it's further into the basin right out on the Midland town Dock in front of Scully's Crab Shack.
  3. Beauty shots Connie! Man...that would have made a beauty shot with Bret about 100 feet off the boat.... Next time...
  4. I could use one...about 40 feet x 40 feet please.....
  5. Brian...you think a sled in the slush is no fun...not into it with an airplane what so ever... And BTW...you didn't specify the lake you wanted to go to.... so... well...maybe people thought you were headin North where Trout are open right thru 'till Sept 30th (except Lake Temagami)
  6. Sure Brian....you drive...I know a nice spot on Cassels Lake in Temagami...
  7. Third Saturday...which would be the 16th..I'll be there the 18th to grab the first one (I hope)! It used to be 1st Saturday in the West Arm and 3rd East of Hwy #64...which made no sense at all...
  8. If you cared what the regs where in 2005/2006 then you would still have a copy of the printed regs to follow in the interm. I have one at home and one at the lake until such time as the 2007/2008 comes out in print. Many guys carry one in their glove box of the truck/car. Like Rick has said above and I put in everyone of these reg posts...any federal legislation/regulations have to make 2 trips thru the National Gazzet (one with proposal - then time for public input period - then second time thru) before they can become law.
  9. Cripes guys...I suppose there was a bus bound for Temagami this morning with 50 guys from TO.... to catch the last day of the season and fish our holes that we pulled them lakers up out of.... since I posted that success story Tuesday. Lets get real...nobody's gonna pack up what they're doin and head for them polluted tribs of TO...especially since CC didn't mention where he was fishin. ..and Scott...lose the CAPS !
  10. I keep tellin yah Drew...the train goes right by @ noon everyday...step off it one time and we'll find them together!
  11. If you can get a bit silly they have prime waterfront available at the mental health centre... Seriously..what Maureen said and an idea of what you think you can spend per week might help narrow it down.
  12. Yah Emil...we need more food planning in our trips. Everyone seems to bring enough for everyone and we end up taking way too much stuff back home with us. Ron had lunch stuff for every day we were there and so did Dano due to a bit of miscommunication. If you look at the pictures...you'll see we could all survive a week or two without eating..... We'll plan better for our fall BOQ trip...so there's room in the fridge for at least one of your meals this time! LOL
  13. yah...I was convinced it was a beer drinking sport...but then I caught a fish. I may be hooked now. The last guy I remember snubbing ice fishing and now can't get enough is MuskyBill !
  14. ...Sunday at 4PM the Ice Breaker will be coming in past Beckwith and Giants Tomb...past the mouth of Penetang Harbour and right into Midland harbour to free the shipping channel up and let the Honourable Paul Martin head back up the lake for another load of grain. That said there will be very unsafe ice conditions throughout the area, and Midland Harbour will be totally broken up. FWI !
  15. Nah...that was just the blown exhaust that they can't afford to buy or have shipped to never never land ! LOL
  16. LOL Drew They paint the thing Yeller so the MNR thinks they'z already there and don't land? LOL You did pretty good Drew and it's wise to know as much as you can about what you are riding in...mind you some times it's better not to know..lol 3600lb gross is correct on a '70 C206E. Generally around 1750 empty..so leaves 1850lb for gear/people/fuel. IF Dexter would shed a few pounds you could take Summer along as well. lol Seeing the three blade prop he may have an engine upgrade in there but standard is a Continental IO-520-F 285 Hp Continuous and 300 for take off (just checked the TC register and this is the engine in there). That is a 6 cylinder yes..but opposed..air cooled...not a V block. SKis look like Kehlers...fixed penetration. Ride home sounded fun ! Been there...done that...and I don't care how calm Dexter looked....his fecal matter was poppin proud as well ! Absolutely great read Drew and what a way to go fishing. I've got to start getting out in the winters via air and dropping in on the back lakes myself around here. Cheers, Wayne Here's one of my ?able trips North in 2005 ! Problem is you have to come down sooner or later...
  17. In aviation ... "soon" with Transport Canada = 3 years. Getting around to it = 5 years before that. Hopefully the MNR is a tad quicker..but if the changes haven't gone thru the National Gazzet(sp) yet it will be months yet.
  18. Go here and read for yourself...Brian you can get an extra week of pre-fishing in...lol http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/fishing/ http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/csb/news/2006/dec20bg_06.html
  19. Yep 2006 regs for now...BUT there are some changes already in effect...like Musky 2 weeks later in the west arm of Nippissing. Go to http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/fishing/ and read it all for yourself to avoid any misconceptions.
  20. Been quite a few of those this winter Paul ! Global Warming ?
  21. What you talkin about hot lips..... LOL
  22. Dang Mike...first you beat on my ketchup on my taters and now I can't get a sugar fix in the morning.... LOL
