  1. Thanks everyone and Tony...can' t beat a full windshield for sure! As for Lew's lack of smile...well after 8 hours of being wind beaten, what can ya say. Thanks goodness it was 14*C as it felt like zero at times.
  2. If he won't Marc...I will ! I have my own tools ! LOL
  3. Yep...about as believable as the 13 MPH vs 30 MPH on the boat with the 225's on it in "hole shot"
  4. LOL Joey...it was the last boat that was jinxed ! I had the stowmaster net last year and it didn't help in that boat. You'll be fine with the Frabil .... Maybe I need to change my handle to Muskie Wayne...so I can join my bud Muskie Dan. Take the guy on a charter...catch him a fish and his head swells ! LOL
  5. You didn't have to tell anyone!!! I just knew.... LOL
  6. I've had a guy bugging me for about a month to go over to Caesera to look at his wind damaged float plane. Was reluctant..since I don't get paid to do quotes, but then a light bulb went off ! Float planes = water = water access = ramp..... so I made it worth the trip and took the boat early this morning for the 2.5 hr drive. Arranged for Lew to meet up with me, after I was done going over this floatplane...and we were told we could launch right at the float base. Well I quickly looked over the damaged airplane, got rid of the prospective customer and then found we couldn't launch there as it was WAY too shallow as far out as we could see. Lew said he saw a ramp at the village pier and off we went. Not a bad ramp...had some issues getting the boat back on straight..but we managed. Off we went and I now fully understand why they call it the bog. Pretty choppy as we headed out...and it only got worse as the day went on with gusts on the ++ side of 50K Didn't take us very long to find the first one...just a touch over 37" long. Cancer growth -lympysarcoma - on it that was pretty clean compared to others to come. Lew supplied us a good lunch and I allowed him to eat his fully while I reeled in a few more fish ! LOL Think this one was a twin to the 37. This one's right side was an absolute mess and bleeding sores etc. It continued to get rougher...that ain't rain on the windshield. This guy was just shy of 42" After it, and about 3 boat lengths forward of releasing it.....I water released another 36 to 38 " fish without the net. Just flipped the hook out while standing on the boarding platform. Starting to get a tad rough...starting to look like Georgian Bay back on Sunday! ..and a short time later I get another one for a total of five muskie for the day for me!! Now at this point I'm feelin bad for Lew...we even ran the same bait...same colour for quite some time and nodda for him. I took a break and he changed up hooks on the way back and within 10 seconds put this one in the boat to complete the day. What a GREAT way to mix business with pleasure, and who better to spend a day on the water with than Lew. Great guy and great company in the boat. Thanks for getting out there with me Lew and making a complete day out of my floatplane inspection on Scugog. Drove the 2.5hrs home...just backed the uncovered boat in the hangar and it started to POUR 2 minutes later. Perfect timing, after a perfect day. Wayne
  7. Congrats Pete on this major accomplishment !!!! Now that you have some spare time...clean up our teams progress would ya ! LOL
  8. Great report Pikeie and some nice fishies there. Now about the Lloyd fella.... LOL I see he has blue buckets this year!
  9. Mine are full length Gerrit...sill to sill @ 30 feet long with the center (well 16/14) sitting on a supported 12 inch steel beam. Wish I hadn't done that either...as they act like guitar strings..noises go room to room and you can bounce in one and the other room feels it. Only did it as the building inspector wanted 2 x 12's on 12" centers for our family room with the 16' span I drew into our house design..and to keep the floors all one level I went 2 x 10 TJI's. If I did it all over again...I would have done the whole place in 2 x 12's...but that doesn't help Jeff. I just offered up the TJI issue as the possible cause of his tile letting go in the first place...and the fact that our hardwood floors have stood the test of time (10 years) even with the deflection of TJI's
  10. In addition to what Gerritt said...if you have "silent beams" you'll never get rid of the flex/bounce in the floor (that caused your tiles to crack). I have a 16' span..with 2 x 10 SB's on 16" centers and 3/4" T&G plywood glued and screwed to them... and the floor was good for almost a 1/4" give as you step on each joist. Part of this is the SB companies don't want any x-bridging...as that would make them squeak possibly. I ended up having to X - brace on 2 spots on span and diagonally brace the underside with 1 x 3 straping to get my projection TV to quit going out of alignment. Floor still sags as you walk across it..but at least the bounce is gone. All our upstairs halls and our dining room are 3/4" hardwood. They are nailed directly to said Silent Beams and 3/4 " T&G and no issues in 10 years. They still look like new. Our only marble area in our foyer was put down after another layer of 1/2" plywood was glued/screwed every 6" square on top of the 3/4 T & G. Luckily this area also has a main fiberstrand (forget the real name) beam under it...or I think it would probably have cracked by now. Wish I'd never used these things..but couldn't go 16' with conventional 2 x 10 joists.
  11. Yah..and to think Charlotte had to go....
  12. HAHA PH ! Pretty bad when you have to disclaim .. "Not meant to be controversial, just a laugh"
  13. Thanks for sharing about your lack of fishing reports Steve! They got one of those with a motor and propellor on it. Would make a nice observation sub. Good luck with your recovery.
  14. I'd imagine Brian has tips at JB's in Rexdale. 416-614-7222 Heck might even do warrantee replacement
  15. Yep...like Roy said and I believe it was also in the In Fisherman as well.
  16. All fine and dandy...but has she ever fished or hunted? http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/message/DonnaCansfield_bio.html
  17. Works for me...but I guess we might want to hang onto those 2005/2006 fishing laws, suggestions, regulations booklets.
  18. Nothing Zib...it's mint from what I can see. Just another pro trying to sell his freebee so he can get another one.
  19. Like Roy says! If I could live last year all over again... I could save $40,000 ! I know of a 2007 2025Pro V - 275 Verado - 9.9 pro kicker and other toys for only $36,000 US on a custom trailer. That's about $34,700cdn right now...the 275 Verado new is $30,200 ALONE ! Now if I could just figure out where I saw it...might have been Pete's site as well...
  20. HAHA took me 4 minutes to find my picture Roy!
  21. Guess the same guy that designed their 2007 hat still works there!
