  1. Don't go too fast Brian because it has no brakes! Master brake reservoir evaporated dry and even after filling it pedal goes to the floor, good thing it's a 4 speed so I can still move it as I wish. Yes 666, I've owned the Bird below since 1989.. (the 'Bee my father bought new)
  2. I showed mine to the light of day for the first time in almost 14 years Brian. Pulled it out of it's marine container earlier this week. Hooked up my kicker can to it with fresh fuel (mix of premium and 100LL Avgas) and she started on the third crank. Idled smooth with no smoke and runs like a top. Testament to how tough these old motors are, now if only my 26 year old paint job had of held up as well in the container I'd be a happy man.
  3. He's probably sucking the cute wimmin into doing his tests for him!!
  4. Sounds like he didn't have an agreed value policy to start with. My policy lists the value of the boat, trailer, kicker motor etc and if it's stolen I get it replaced with new up to that value. If he had agreed value on the last boat they would have asked on this one. Did he even have replacement or just liability coverage? If you just cover "XYZ" boat with basic insurance, then no different than a car, they depreciate it's value starting the day it left the dealers lot and all they would also do for him if he only had liability coverage. Because it was hit by someone else, and not an act he had control over, they are paying what they think they can get away with for the hull. That said, his insurance company should be going to bat for him to be fully compensated for his loss and fighting the other insurance company to do so. It's not his insurance co that will be paying him in the end, it will be the kids insurance company that hit it.
  5. Well hurry up and decide, I have a towed vehicle Brake Buddy and Demco Aluminator flat tow bar assembly to sell! All you'll need is a tow plate for the vehicle... lol
  6. LOL Dave... my trailer has four 9'8" long x 2 x 6 bunks.
  7. Dave how's the paint doing on the hull where you load it?? Just curious if the weight of the boat on the UHWW is wearing it off. I'm not sure plastic against paint is a great idea for my 3000 pounder, but sure have lots of it around if I decide to go that route.
  8. Could you do 4 more at 9' 8" Paul.. I'd prefer black carpet though!
  9. If you had of had it on ... you wouldn't have needed your flashlight! Figure that one out..
  10. Gets some rest and get the hell off your computer / phone. Staring at a screen isn't what the doctor ordered!!
  11. ... probably why he ties a rope to it...
  12. Seat cushions haven't been legal since the cold war ended...
  13. Well I know my youngest wasn't too happy about having to push her sister half way across down town in a wheel chair to get from $30 parking to the gymnastics event in the Coliseum last night. They wouldn't even let her drop her at the door and then go park... after that they enjoyed what they got for $77.50 ($50 accessibility + 27.50 assistant seat)
  14. Huzzsaba, PM me your name and arrival date and I'll see if I can pull some strings on getting my brother in law off his ass to show you how to run a boat. No promises with it being a very busy resort, but I'll see what I can do . You probably weren't even talking to my s-in-law, probably her employee in the store.
  15. Well I have nothing to do with how she runs her park, but I fully understand the fear of someone wrecking a motor and the then loss of ability to rent it back out. As long as you can learn enough on how to start a motor and know that to go right you push the motor left you maybe fine! A charter is also a great way to learn the ins and outs of a specific type / style of fishing.
  16. If you do rent you'd be stupid to only get it for a few hours as it will cost you more. I don't know anywhere else where you can rent a boat for the full day with a 15 horse for $95 (and it includes a tank of gas!)... and I keep telling her she's dumb for being so cheap. 16' Aluminum with ... 15 Horse Daily (8 hours)* $95.00 Weekly (7 days)* $350.00 Half-day (4 hours)* $75.00 Hourly (minimum 2 hours)* $35.00 *Includes 1 tank of fuel
  17. They are talking about ICE FISHING... and "walking out" on said ice.
  18. If you had of bought a Ford they would have come standard... just sayin !
  19. Sister in law has coyote decoys at the resort on Manitoulin, seems to do the trick keeping the geese and gulls elsewhere.
  20. I told you to stop reading those magazines under the covers Brian, now look what you did !! Hang in there...
  21. You know how this keeps happening, correct??
  22. Daughter bought tickets to Monday nights gymnastics, way back in October!
  23. Tell them I sent you.. they may rent you the better boat !
  24. Well I guess that takes you off the list of prospective, quick buyers for my motorhome this month... that needs a carpenters touch right now. What did you go and do that for Gerritt? Hang in there and listen to what they're telling you. I know that might be hard for you to do, but do it anyway okay! We need you back up and at'm soon! Like Terry said, the best part is you made it to the hospital quickly and the fact you're online would suggest they got you in time!
  25. Drain should do nothing but possibly put some water in your livewell if the plug was out, unless it's a bow well like a Lund (with the drain to the keel) and you can sink your boat running the boat bow down without the drain plug in the live well (fills the live well and then the boat). Your drain hose to the transom thru hull fitting could be cracked and cause leakage. Got a ramp close by that you can back the boat down the launch and leave the transom straps on, so it stays down in the water further, climb in and see if anything is leaking.
