  5. Jennifer May Leah O'Shea Feb 27, 1985 to August 4, 2015 In the family home after an inspirational five year battle against Ewings Sarcoma, Jennifer passed away surrounded by her parents, siblings and their significant others, and family friend Dr. Robert Helt. Cherished middle child of Wayne and Leah O'Shea, loving sister to Daryl (Holly) and Kristal (Aaron). Granddaughter of Cris VanDenHeuvel (Dorothy), Victoria VanDenHeuvel and Rudoph Welz. Predeceased by her Grampa Charles O'Shea, Gramma Dorothy (O'Shea) Welz and her Aunt Wendy O'Shea. Jennifer will be deeply missed by her immediate family, all of her aunts and uncles, cousins, numerous friends and all those whom she truly inspired so deeply while attempting to beat the odds of her rare illness. Cremation has taken place. Family, friends and all persons that she has touched the lives of are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Jennifer. The Celebration will be held at the Midland Cultural Centre at 333 King St. Midland Ontario on Sunday August 30th from Noon until 4pm. Food and drink will be served. Any person wishing to make a speech at the event is more than welcome to do so starting at 2 PM. If you have any photographs of Jennifer that you would like to share and/or display at the Celebration you are more than welcome to do so. In lieu of flowers Jennifer would have appreciated donations to the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre, the Simcoe County Chapter of Crohn's and Colitis Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society to further much needed research. These donations can be made directly or through the Penetanguishene Funeral Home. Online messages of condolences are welcomed at: http://penetangfuneral.sharingmemories.ca/site/Jennifer-OShea.html
  6. Look again.. it's just an illusion from the dock. Nice outing..
  7. Requirements not covered in the getting a boaters card step you took?? Probably not since they don't teach you how to start or drive a boat either...
  8. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and well wishes. Been a tough few days and today we went to the funeral home to arrange for Jen's cremation. I found some peace when I learned how small this world really is, it was a fellow OFC member that picked Jen up yesterday and who is our funeral director. I thank you David for making things a little bit easier. I don't like your pricing but that's for another day! Hug your kids folks!
  9. Safe flight Jellybean, I love you. Guess she wanted to make sure we never forgot the date, as she knew our love for her was twice as strong as Leah and mines love for each other. Our 33rd Anniversary today. Jennifer May Leah OShea Feb 27, 1985 to August 4, 2015 In the family home after an inspirational five plus year battle against Ewings Sarcoma. Jennifer passed away surrounded by her parents, siblings and their significant others, as well as family friend Dr. Robert Helt. Cherished middle child of Wayne and Leah OShea, sister to Daryl (Holly) and Kristal (Aaron).
  10. Now you know what I couldn't fix Hun! Thanks for the thoughts. Sitting here doing our favourite thing together, watching a big lightning storm out the window. I can see it and I'm giving her the play by play. W
  11. She just won't shut down... had a seizure at 9 this morning, we managed to stop that. Rob (Dr Helt) has been here all day, now 10 hours and has made 3 trips to the hospital for more drugs as he expected she wouldn't make it past noon. Now 7:25pm. She has over 100 mg of Valium in her as well as a large quantity of hydromorphone. Her body is just not ready to call uncle. Strong heart beat and breathing, all we can do is wait it out. Leah's been up for 35 hours now and I'm trying to get her to bed. Daryl and Kristal here all day as well. My night shift I guess tonight, we fired nursing yesterday.
  12. Sorry, hopefully the storm is over soon!
  13. Before you get too far, try unhooking the battery for a few days and make sure it's not just a bad one. Once you've determined it's good I'd suspect a draw from a voltage regulator that's on it's way out.
  14. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and well wishes. Dr Helt just left for the second time today, he figures today or tomorrow but added she's so stubborn that there is no way to predict it. Her last words to him, in a very shallow voice, as he went to leave were " I'm still alive " ! She hasn't lost her wit !
  15. Because all the "farm fields" in Barrie have been covered by subdivisions in the last 20 years! lol
  16. So damn frustrating that for the first time in my life I can't fix something with a jackknife and pocket lint!

  17. Amazing and unfortunate how quickly things can change in just 6 weeks. Jennifer is days, possibly hours away from the inevitable as her body shuts down and the Sarcoma has taken it over. Leah and myself have been taking turns sitting with Jen 24 hours a day and the other two kids are filling in when they can. She hasn't eaten or drank anything for at least a month. Blood transfusion and saline iv's for re hydration have made no difference, and even if they did the Sarcoma is showing up at C3/C4 as well as her pelvic / rib area of her spine. She now has a hospital bed in our front room and stronger pain meds have made her more comfortable. All other medications have been stopped and the focus is on no pain and dignity, and we've filled out the DNR forms. We are not available for phone calls; we want all our time to be spent with her. I welcome emails and will respond if necessary when I can. Only medical professionals and our own small immediate family is allowed inside the house now. It is better if everyone remembers her happy smile, instead of what she looks like now. We're not looking for any sage advice, as we've had 5yrs to run this through our heads at every twist and turn that she took with her inspirational fight. I just wanted you to know that her journey is almost over and she will soon be pain free. Thanks for holding our hands, Wayne and Leah PLEASE - NO posts on facebook, Jen has friends that still don't know that are "friends" of Leah's.
  18. I wouldn't come to Penetang either... it's Chaplain 400 Rendezvous weekend here and most stuff is down at the town dock / park.
  19. Down here that would have been 2 grand and you might have seen your engine back in January. Glad it work out Dara!
  20. No, if you want to have a fund raising raffle you have to buy a licence to sell tickets in Midland!
  21. Town of Midland requires you to buy a permit to have a garage / yard sale ! Fine for not having one minimum $500 to a maximum of $100,000 !!
  22. The correct answer Lew is "because I can" !
  23. For what I paid for it... in a heart beat ! If they depreciate it, not so fast.
  24. Way to go G ! Got one bigger than the old man's...
