  1. Yep... we've walked the trail from Mews to what ever the other campground is down the East end of the lake.. and it's a little further in on hwy 60 than Mews and Lake of 2 Rivers so should be quieter. Just wish we could still fly in there... considering the area East of the Mews was a runway through the 60's /70's and caused less noise than the 10's of thousands of cars on hwy 60 !
  2. The campground past the Mews and Lake of Two Rivers campgrounds has a radio free zone.. can't remember it's name but it's at the East end of Lake of Two Rivers.
  3. LOL John.. the spoon part! If there is ANYTHING some of us can do for your Mother.. you just let us know and we'll be there!
  4. VERY True... unless you can get a site along the river.
  5. Lake of Two Rivers... has a nice swim beach Dave.
  6. You could go all the way to Temagami Dave... nice sand beach for the kids and the choice between no power and power sites in two areas of the park. Pending what you want.... and you choose to head that way... I can recommend the best sites depending on what you want as a site and how close to the comfort station or just a privy that you require.
  7. Musky landing in Port Severn is just chompin at the bit... all 5 or 6 of their boats in the water, tied to the dock and ready to go yesterday!
  8. That would be an urban legend....
  9. I hate to say it... but.. it's BLACK FLY SEASON !!!

      Say it isn't so!!!

  10. I've never seen so many pike in one morning... and the odd HUGE OOS Bass... so hungry to swallow big spoons and 6/0 hooks down to the gill plates. Great day on the water... fishing in a T shirt from 10am on... and celebrating Andy's birthday on opening day. Can't beat that! One of many double headers.. before 10 am!
  11. Well Terry, you can hit rocks on Georgian Bay no matter the water level.... where it is now or 6 feet higher. If not sure.. trim and full slow... and make sure the Captain takes you seriously when you say ROCK in a bay he travels almost weekly... LMAO !
  12. No... you dive in first... I am SURE there is lots of water...
  13. Great Woodsman.. just making sure everyone is staying on track, not that things ever go sideways around here! ;O)
  14. Amongst all these suggestions, which ones have the sand beach that Matt is looking for, for his kids? I'd recommend Lake Temagami... but NOBODY has a sand beach, there are 3, 4 at most on the lake and they are on Crown Land.
  15. Yah.. they really messed that up when Pike were originally open ALL year on Temagami...unfortunately I was correct when I said they would take the most restrictive regulation from a specific lake/zone and make it the regulation when they combined many zones into less and larger zones. I hear what Mike is saying and sure it's great food for thought, although I'm sure the MNR knows what they are doing with respect to the seasons. At least they sure told us so when we question why in the hell they were box trapping Muskie, on the 1st of May, in the Green Islands today.
  16. You CAN hit them staying IN the markers Peter.. trust us... lol Back to the OP's question... Not sure where you intend to fish in Penetang Harbour, but if off the town dock (only allowed on the far right end last I saw) it's a floater now so a non-issue for lift height after the uneducated (we'll call them vs idiots) tore out the crib dock and spent a million bucks to replace it with floating stuff. Waub... Marshes had to dredge just to use their docks.
  17. Always the case Shawn... ask too much it sits.. ask to little it's gone in a flash and you think to yourself "I should have asked for more". It's out of your hair.. money in your pocket.. good for you!
  18. We didn't hit toooo many rocks.... with our 60+ years of GBay combined experience between us.. ! It's about the same as it was in late November.. rocks that haven't been seen since around 1966...
  19. Front hubs... don't mess around. Carquest sells an economy and a good one with timken bearings in it (Moog). Spend the extra for the work involved in changing them. Considering Leah's Sporttrac ate the first ones at 62,000 km... and I made them redo the left front a 1000 km later.. and I just did it again at 155,000 km. Make sure they're the good ones. .. I have to thank Bernie for holding my hand through me doing Leah's truck. You get one shot at tightening the spindle / shaft nut to the proper torque.
  20. Parts Monkey (in London I believe) www.partsmonkey.com ... quick and easy, but you might find the local carquest is cheaper for a set of hubs once you pay shipping.
  21. Guess it depends on your idea of affordable. Spiel gets my vote for some amazing work... I'm sure others mentioned do some fine work too, but I've never fished with their creations vs 3 of Spiel's marvels.
  22. Like Dan.. we do good for a cheap pine muskoka chair every 2 years..
  23. Leave'm be Hun.... he'll do just fine and if not, let nature do what it's supposed to do.
  24. There was a message in there Bry.. that wasn't it...
