  1. adds character?
  2. st. croix premier 6'9"
  3. how do you like crowds? rice and stoney are very popular destinations. not that nippissing isn't but, it's a big lake
  4. Premiere. St. Croix cancelled the Avid line of muskie rods a couple of years ago. If you're looking for muskie rods, your options when going St. Croix are the Premier and the expensive Legend Tournament Muskie line. I am not sure if they are making any in the cheaper, off-shore built Triumph line.
  5. shh it's a sauger.
  6. i have both compre and st.croix muskie rods and i much prefer the st.croixs. not that the compres are bad rods, just the st.croix are better. IMO.
  7. I fish plastics for bass in the weeds with a 7' MH Daiwa Heartland "Bass" spinning rod and 2500 series daiwa reel. currently have 20 or 30# fireline on it. don't find it too heavy at all and I'll use this setup as a 3rd pike rod in the spring.
  8. gotta pay to play. having said that, might make a few wiser choices (ie. make those 4hr treks up north for longer periods of time at a time).
  9. ohh man these are good.
  10. What Roy said. I've been moving over all of my driving life, law or not. Common sense.

Nice shot Bill. That whole lower manhatten area is very much a police state, spot checks everywhere. Can't say that I was surprised given what happened but it's a different part of the world for sure. Take out the concrete jungle and replace with green and the hudson looks like it was a nice place to fish 600 years ago. :D
  12. interesting.. are these two shows only on WFN? Al Lindner was a staple for me growing up watching fishn shows. always thought he did a great job.

It's not you Marty, that's the downfall of walk-the-dog topwaters. Jackpots are no different. They sure show the fish but often times they miss.
  14. i suppose it's brand preference but i've always been a diawa guy for spinning reels.. i've a couple that are over 20 yrs old and still ticking.
  15. cool it's like a flip book animation.
  16. Dipsey's do pull quite hard but it's a steady pull whereas the big muskie lures 'pound' (you really have to see it). Like everyone has said, downeasters. I won't trust all that gear to plastic.
  17. c4 is a great bass reel, don't expect to it last if you are going to be throwing large muskie baits.
  18. Walmart will not install tires that your vehicle was not "designed" for (ie. the sticker on your door). So unless the sticker says 31x10.5x15, which I doubt, you'll have to get em installed elsewhere. I tried getting them to put on 235/75/15s on my jeep and they said nope, sticker says 215 or 225.. eventhough they fit just fine and it's fairly common to run oversize tires. The ATs that consistently get best reviews are the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos, but they aren't the cheapest tire.

  20. see hunny it was a good idea getting that 4x4.. the roads will be mine again this wknd!

What a place! Lincoln Tunnel Times Square Polarizing filter Lwr Manhatten
  22. ..and if we're talking kms on the odometer, my '97 4.0L turned over 312,000 today. Still running strong. I have a feeling the body will go long before the motor. I intend to run it to the ground then probably get another Cherokee.
  23. Sweet.. I'm lovin' it.
  24. You'll probably love it.. I do miss the the acceleration and handling of my DSM once in a while (I'm guessing you have a WRX right now?) but the Jeeps can go a lot of places most vehicles can't. You can fit a lot of gear in them, tow a decent size boat (I pull a 17' Lund package that's probably in the 2k+ lb range with no problem), and it's pretty hard to get them stuck, even in stock form (although I've managed ) . First mod should be front tow hooks if the GC doesn't come with them. Your hitch will work as a rear recovery point.
