  1. i haven't been able to get a clear answer (other than "it's newer technology" ) what is so special about teh terrova to justify a $500+ price difference between a 70lb PD2 and an 80LB terrova (other than 10lb thrust)? can anyone here shed some light?
  2. i believe the latest beer/liquor stores close is 11pm in select locations, and earliest they open is about 10am. toronto has plenty of 24hr grocery stores. i'd check www.lcbo.com or www.thebeerstore.ca . any of those places you mentioned along your route will have one or both.
  3. who knows Joey. to quote teh great Whopper "you know me I'm liable to show up anywhere to fish"
  4. i'm looking for more stats especially as they pertain to handguns, but so far i've found this one right off the public safety canada gov't site to give ya an idea. http://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/media/nr/200...0619-2-eng.aspx There are nearly 7 million registered long-guns in Canada. Yet of 549 murders recorded in Canada in 2003, only 2 were committed with long-guns known to be registered.
  5. wow, inflation!!
  6. that is correct. given our proximity and relatively 'free' border with our neighbour to the south who has a HUGE gun problem of their own, i don't really see an easy solution. honestly, if i really wanted a handgun, i'd have one within 24hrs, probably much less. it's not terrible difficult to obtain one and i'll betchya it's origins will be from outside canada. you're right, it is out of hand. however, they are going after the wrong people in the name of good appearances.
  7. yes, it sucks. but i can almsot guarantee that gun was not registered and its origins are from outside this country. i dont have the answer to the gun problem, but going after 4% instead of 96% makes no sense to me. (other than political posturing)
  8. sorry roy.. one day i will learn to use my superpowers for the forces of good and not evil. a pic of a leper king may be tough.
  9. ...with this group, i'm certain that won't be required either... if you can, go.. have fun!
  10. you are very close, heard on the radio this morning the number is 96% illegal, 4% registered (either stolen or offence commited by the registered owner) its a lot easier to chase down the 4% and look good!
  11. united states, jamaica. most of the illegal handguns can be traced back to these two places. sure, some are the results of robberies but compared those two sources, it is really a small number.
  12. here are a couple of chinnies in 'action' but i am not sure that's what you meant.
  13. good eyes lundboy.
  14. bunk, do you use braid on your jiggin rods through the ice or just tipups? i can't stand the stuff for jigging & retrieving on a reel. absorbs water, freezes and turns into a mess on the reel. i know youre not a hut dweller either lol!
  15. 23".. but doesnt look super fat. i'd say 4.5-5.5# there are probably more qualified people than me to answer your question tho.
  16. i don't read em anymore but when i was young there was in-fisherman than there was the rest.
  17. that'd be my guess too terry.. or a bad ground maybe? :donno:
  18. sorry brian, didn't mean to give away your secret honey hole.
  19. try it and see how it affects the action. but i think with wtd style baits a rubber trailer would kill the action. drifter made jointed beleivers with a rubber tail. i'm sure those would work i think everyone covered the basics. wtd, prop/head spinners, buzzbaits. the only ones i havent seen mentioned are creeper style baits.
  20. it only took me 18 days to realize the pinned thread was gone!! LOL
  21. ya know some of us actually go fishn thanks Spiel! :thumb:
