  1. avg spinng rods just try it and profit. when you are moving, the pressure from pulling lures is going to keep those rods snug, and if you were paying attn, and pointed your rod tips at the water..... they aren't sliding into the boat or going anywhere.
  2. fore grip in the holder, reel out the back (inside of boat) i don't see why it would not work looking at those pics.
  3. i was being a little facetious. that sounds like perfecting reasoning.. trolling topwaters would be another. btw, rod holders work great for lakers and lighter spinning tackle too.
  4. like this not sure i follow your reasoning. strain is on the front cork/foam as opposed to reel seat. if it can't handle that, i am using too wimpy of a rod. if anything, the foam and cork would act to dampen things. action comes from everything in front of the foam/cork. the stuff under the cork doesnt flex (much).
  5. and who the heck angles their tip up into the air unless you are downrigging, planer boards or leadcore. rod tip pointed into the water.
  6. the fore grip goes into the holder. reel seat and aft grip extend out.
  7. less wine more fish!
  8. in soviet russia, cowgirl bite you. nice pics marty.
  9. you mean the hudson and susquehanna.. i guess i don't need any help. thank bud we'll keep in touch
  10. Hey Rico... Nice pics. I am going to be down around Chesapeake Bay again this fall.. likely pick your brain when the time comes. Maybe I'll get up Hudson way too, who knows.
  11. well i'll be.... there are muskies under 40" in LOTW great shots tom.
  12. that's a nice find chris. and i want to thank you for posting the articles in the fishing news section. new and old.
  13. pity reply
  14. john, proposed changes = bad fighting said changes = good
  15. i think we should just ban bass fishn. problem solved.
  16. i'm no pier fishing expert but the 7000 should be just fine. i know they will cast a mile and you won't have issues with line capacity . i'd suggest a long 8-6"+ rod but again i'm no pier pro.
  17. the panty knot... apparently... always.
  18. i use the uni for anything and everything with thick diameter mono/fluoro you won't need the 8 or 9 wraps as you do with braid. 5-7 will be fine.
  19. congrats, you'll like that rig.
  20. where/what do you fish? if you're mainly fishing shallow water species the eagle will be plenty. if you are a great lakes salmon troller, i'd consider the x125/x135.
  21. no, no difference. they will both get sliced by a pike's teeth equally. yes, you will. or wire.
  22. fluorocarbon line and fluorocarbon leader material are two different animals. when you are talking fluorocarbon leaders for pike/muskie you are talking about fluoro in the 80, 120lb range. this stuff you bought will not prevent bite offs. if you are on a budget, stick to wire leaders. otherwise invest in proper fluoro leaders.
  23. may the luck be with you
  24. would running a power inverter off the truck connected to a charger be an option as well?
