  1. You should be able to find a 12 footer that doesn't leak for a good price.
  2. Still very low, but coming up slowly.
  3. I am a fan of neither team, but that was irresponsible on Subban's part. Too blatant to say it was a hockey play.
  4. It's not just Scugog, every lake in the Kawartha's is hurting. If they close walleye completely on Scugog they better do it for every lake in FMZ 17.
  5. I as out bow hunting and sitting very still at ground level. I heard something behind me and slowly turned only to see a coyote standing about 10 feet from me. I just stared at it and then it stared howling, I started to laugh and it took off. That's my closest encounter with one.
  6. Where are the bats. They should be aware that the season has started. Deja vu or what.
  7. water is coming up slowly, just stumps and shoreline showing this morning.
  8. Just south of the two small islands on the west side Sinker.
  9. A true Leaf fan would never cheer for the Sens.
  10. This news drives me crazy. Here I am always letting the walleye I catch go back to live another day because of the lower numbers recently. I guess it's time to keep a few when this season opens.
  11. Here is a shot from my shoreline last night. It is coming up slowly, but who knows.
  12. I mentioned it because I used to be the only guy out there in April looking for panfish, a few people would yell at me that the fishing season wasn't open yet, but they didn't really know the regs, it was all about walleye then. Then the crappie moved in and everything changed; I'm lucky to get on one of the spots now. LOL
  13. All the females are in Lindsay!
  14. That a big sunfish there Thrilla.
  15. Just took a walk down to the lock in Lindsay and the walleye are in spawning if anyone wants to have a look. No carp or suckers to be seen. Seems they brought the water up just in time.
  16. Does anyone actually know how many lodges/fishing resorts there are in Ontario? The competition must be overwhelming. I know it's overwhelming when I'm looking for a new place to go.
  17. The Penguins better not win the lottery again. Is that possible? So, I was wondering what other Leaf fans were thinking if Edmonton picked Strome instead of Hanifin? Do they pick Hanifin or go to the next centre man available.
  18. As a leaf fan, it will be a stress free playoffs. AND I won't mind leaving the tube to go fishing! Nice to see so many Canadian teams in this year.
  19. One sold quite a few years ago on Pigeon for over $1 million bucks. It's not even open to the public anymore after the previous owners worked their butts off to get it to where it was. They made the yearly outdoor show trek through the states to promote the resort and it paid off as fishindevil said.
  20. What musky and specks said is what kept me from ever making the decision to own a resort/fish camp. However, it could work if it was very small, just don't know if the revenue would cover the yearly expenses. Working in one might be a good option.
  21. Just think, 20 or so years ago no one talked about crappie. Now you can't keep people away from them. LOL
  22. It will not be a semi-retirement as others have said. I have known two families that have owned resorts. One broke up and sold everything for a loss on all they invested, the other finally gave in and moved to Peterborough. They are all happier. My daughter owns a trailer park in the Barrie area. They have year round trailers and boat rentals. They run their arses off during the summer and slow down a bit in the winter. She would like to give it up.
  23. Where are you heading out of? What time? Might help others decide. Thanks,
  24. I agree with the Strome possibility. 6' 4" 190 lb centre is what they need for the future.
  25. There is always next year! LOL Not sure about that muskymatt, how is this year any different; you know how long it has been going on because you always remind us. LOL
