  1. Ohio - the lake is not stocked. The lake has gone through changes over the years due to zebra mussels and changing weed growth patterns, but the fish would not disappear because of that. Yes, pressure steadily increases by the year, but it's usually quieter at this time of the year. Maybe I just can't catch fish anymore. hahaha Maybe they feed heavily at night, when I'm sound asleep. I'll just find new water to fish in the fall.
  2. Thanks for sharing guys. I still struggle on my home lake in the fall, but have to say that walleye fishing some 20 years ago was amazing in the fall (not so much now). I find bass have a small window for the daily bite and will miss them if not on the spot at the right time. Just my take of course, but I also have buddies that feel the same about the lake. I have started towing my boat in the fall to other locations and do well.
  3. I can't imagine the terror associated with being attacked by a bear!
  4. I'm asking, because I don't believe the fish do this on the lake I live on. I can go to other lakes and do well on fish that seem to be feeding heavier during the fall. I can spend hours out on my home lake during the fall and maybe catch a few fish if I work my butt off. Always seems to be a very small window for the bite. Just wondering what others thought.
  5. To each there own, but I found raising a family in a rural area much nicer. I grew up in the Jane and Finch area during the 60's and 70's and would always choose rural over that. You will learn the ways and become accustomed to the routine. Fishing is always close by, which is the big bonus. LOL I never regretted the move; however, I might have to consider it again. It seems to be getting busier in the Kawarthas.
  6. That's awesome, every ice fisherman/person needs one of those!
  7. Man, that car looks small beside the rhino.
  8. So many unknowns at this point. Hopefully the police pull out the truth. Always sad when someone loses their life while enjoying the outdoors.
  9. I agree, that there doesn't seem to be many accidents for the amount of traffic. It still keeps me off the water though when it's busy.
  10. I remember quite a few years ago there was a guy staying at Ennismore Inn an Resort with his kids. They were in the Narrows on a hot day. He decided to jump over for a swim and the waves pushed the boat away from him. His kids watched him drown. Sad Story! You have waves coming from every direction and it extends out into Pigeon Lake up to Bobcaygeon. Chemong can be quite crazy north of the causeway too. People have to start being more careful with the amount of traffic on the water. There are some very fast boats out there.
  11. I rarely go out on the weekends anymore, especially on the main parts of the lakes that have the traffic flowing through the system. Tough on a smaller boat.
  12. What waterway do you feel is the busiest and most dangerous in Ontario?
  13. That is a dream for most of us! Thanks for letting us be a part of it through your report.
  14. Get plugs (the ones the manual calls for) and lubricants from outside the dealer, but stick with getting motor parts from the dealer. The shift cable might be available after market at a cheaper price. This might explain the difference in the plugs you're talking about. https://forums.iboats.com/forum/engine-repair-and-maintenance/yamaha-suzuki-outboards/277650-spark-plugs-ngk-b7hs-ngk-b7hs-10
  15. So, are they compatible with the older power drives? I don't think they are.
  16. I wonder how many good electric motors are going into the trash because Minn Kota decided not to support those models anymore? This throw away society gets to me sometimes.
  17. I second this and anywhere south of the zoo on the river. There are some nice spots to set up.
  18. I'm holding out as long as I can after shopping around. You're right about the ouch!
  19. Another update. So after driving myself crazy for what seems like years, I finally changed the engine and everything is great. The original engine was just tired and worn out and finally on its last legs. I appreciate all the input from everyone on this post/issue. Changing the engine was cheaper than replacing the truck.
  20. That makes it easy, I hope those pedals are a step up from the older ones. It sounds like it. Happy fishing! However, I was kind of hoping to find someone that made the new foot pedal work on one of the older power drives.
  21. Did you have to change your connector from the flat one to the round one?
  22. I didn't mean to be mean spirited, but when a customer is told that something like Lew was going through is normal, someone should be responsible. How many people might keep driving their vehicle when told it is normal, then blow the engine and be responsible for the repair themselves. I don't think most mechanics could bring themselves to say something like an engine knocking is normal to a customer, so I guess someone higher up should be responsible.
  23. Well, that must be nice. That's exactly what I need, just a little dear for me.
