  1. Yeah, there were a lot of bad reviews for that motor. I would have to win the lottery to buy a new one of the ones you suggested. LOL I'll have to look for a used one.
  2. Every Lock/Dam in the Trent System would fall under this reg I would think.
  3. When I used that calculation it just made the 42", that's why I was asking if I should measure the space while I'm in the boat.
  4. I guess I should just measure that one. The one I'm using is a little longer, but I think yours was longer than 42". Thanks for all the opinions guys, it's much appreciated. Any opinions on the Minn Kota Maxxum 55lb thrust, 12v?
  5. Just wondering what shaft length you have as a bow mount on an 14-15' aluminum boat? I'm looking at buying a new one and there are so many different sizes. I looked at the online suggestions, but are those measurements with someone in the boat or it being empty? I'm asking because one of the motors I'm looking at only has a 42" shaft; I think it's too short though. Can I get everyone's opinion on the new Minn Kota electronic foot pedals. Are they giving people the same issues as the older models? I don't plan on spending over $800.
  6. Welcome to the Board. I haven't stayed there, but the last time I saw them, the cabins looked okay. They are two completely different lakes and both are good at times. I think Baptiste doesn't suffer from the pressure that Elephant faces. Baptiste is bigger and deeper. I always enjoyed fishing those lakes! Haven't been in a few years now.
  7. At least you braved it and tried. I stayed on shore yesterday and did some honey do list stuff. I noticed that the crappie were hitting better on Saturday as I tied into a few while walleye fishing.
  8. I second Rice Lake, they have a number of resorts to choose from.
  9. You can check out Little Lake in Barrie. Lawrence Park rents pontoons, but they don't have accommodations, should be something close by though being in Barrie.
  10. Got out on the weekend a couple of times and found it tough to find any numbers. Sunday was horrible, only caught one between two guys in a few hours. The perch and bluegill weren't even biting, however got into a few gill in the evening. The surface was too still for me and way too many of those bugs to enjoy the day. Kept a few on Saturday for a meal.
  11. Just thought I would update you all on the state of the truck. I drove it all winter and it's still running. Just changed the oil again and it's purring. Geez. maybe there is some small channel plugged, preventing a good pressure reading or that little filter screen under the pressure sensor was shoved down inside previously and it's blocking something, I do hate not being able to figure things out though.
  12. It probably could be rewired, but I'm not a wizard. LOL
  13. Nice looking ski. Always liked the colouring of the muskie in Scugog. Shawn and James do a great job on the replicas!
  14. I'm still pissed at Minn Kota for not making an adapter for this pedal to use on the older models. Glad it worked out for you though.
  15. Great write up. I especially found the rock pictures very interesting, so different. Amazing fishing by the looks of your haul. That would be a dream trip for me..... Thanks for sharing.
  16. Yeah, our shoreline was down a little when I got home from work yesterday. Hope to see a steady decline in levels.
  17. Pigeon, Buckhorn, Chemong, Mitchell, etc are dropped low in the winter, there is basically no water in front of my place on Lower Pigeon when it's frozen. If you look at the top end of the system around Kennisis and Redstone, those lakes are dropped like 6 feet or more. They have to hold back water to fill those lakes to avoid low water levels in the summer, then slowly let any extra down through the system. However, I still don't understand the problem, because it was rare to get flooding in the spring years ago. Maybe it's the people who are managing the system???? Some say it's climate change???
  18. This is why I get so pissed off when people whip by me (while I'm fishing) within 10 - 20 yards at full throttle. That's how easy it can happen and then take out innocent boats in the vicinity.
  19. There are limits on most panfish now. Sunfish have a limit of 300, but only 30 at a specific size. These are examples from the regs for zone 17. Crappie Season: open all year Limits: S-30 and C-10 Sunfish Season: open all year Limits: S-300; only 30 may be greater than 18 cm, and C-15 Yellow Perch Season: open all year Limits: S-50 and C-25 Most of the kawarthas provides good fishing and there is usually free access somewhere.
  20. Nice to see someone having the energy to get out there. Looks like you had a great day!
  21. Here are a couple of before and after photos of our shoreline. these were taken 2 weeks apart.
  22. Why do people let their aquarium fish go into lakes? Worst crime possible for the environment.
  23. They will figure it out like any other team has in the past and us Leaf fans will cheer them on again next year. They just have to find the right supporting cast for their top guns.
  24. I believe that in over 30 years, this is the highest I have seen the water level on Pigeon Lake. I have seen a few places that are built closer to the water experiencing flooding. My thoughts are going out to the people in Minden who face this type of crisis on what seems like a yearly basis now.
