  1. Just going to throw this out there and maybe get some pointers. I have owned this truck for 3 years. Had the oil pressure warning go off at idle the first summer I owned it. I changed out the oil pressure sensor and changed the oil. It solved the problem to some degree. That warning would go off again at around 5000 km after the oil change. I would change the oil and again solve the problem of the warning sound going off, the pressure seemed to read low at idle still, but no sound. Recently the oil change would not solve it and the warning sound was going off at 40 km/hr. There is no knocking or noisy lifters coming from the engine at idle. I had brought it in to get checked and it was determined that the pressure is dropping after a manual pressure test with a gauge. So, $560 later I know the pressure is dropping at idle and they wired the sensor to trick it so the warning sound wouldn't drive me crazy. That was another brand new sensor installed from GM (I had just replaced the senor with an aftermarket one). They put in 15w40, which I have since changed out (wasn't comfortable with the thick oil in the cold) and added a bottle of Lucas. I have thoughts that the o-ring on the oil pick going into the pump up might be a problem, but they want $1500 to drop the oil pan and replace the pick up and o-ring. I would do this myself, except for the fact that the front diff has to be loosened to drop the pan. Tough when laying on my back at my age. It was suggested that I just put in a used running engine for approximately $3000. One of my concerns is that I replace the engine and then the tranny goes. I am rambling a bit, sorry. So, one of my questions is, shouldn't I be hearing noise from the engine if the engine is breaking down? The truck is in great shape for it's age and it has 360,000 on the Vortec 5.3. Any suggestions, tips, pointers or past experiences would be appreciated. I feel like I'm driving on borrowed time. Thanks Jimmer
  2. I forgot about Kadri. They might not have to protect Liljegren. No use worrying about any of this now, it's all speculation on who will be with the team at that point.
  3. I would have to say that I see quite a few things that might interest me but I don't pursue them because of the distance between me and the seller. I tend not to post things because of this reason also. I find it much easier and successful to post on local sites. Just my thoughts. Oh, I have purchased items that have been listed on the classified section.
  4. Drifter is right, because the Leafs will probably have a different lineup by that time. However, this is when a team loses a player like Hyman, Brown or Johnnson after investing time into their development.
  5. Thanks for clarifying that.
  6. I guess it depends on the depth they have when the expansion draft takes place.
  7. yeah, unfortunately a team like the Leafs will lose a good player.
  8. We were getting them in 20 - 30 fow.
  9. Yes, it would be nice to see some moves to improve the defense. Leivo was a pretty good hockey player, just no spot for him. Glad to see they got something for him and he will have a chance to play regularly. I think Carcone will be a Marlie for now.
  10. Looks like the cleared a roster spot.
  11. I caught more whitefish on those things last year than I did over the rest of my life.
  12. That's where it all begins. So good to hear stories of young children standing up to bullies!
  13. This is very sad for the whole area. It will affect more than just the GM workers, as many have said. All those workers support local charities through payroll deduction, so the hurt will go deeper than people losing their jobs. The writing has been on the wall for years, going back to the implementation of the free trade agreement. Lindsay was decimated when free trade hit, closing down Abex, LOF and Trent Rubber, not sure the area has even recovered yet. I was wondering if one of the union guys on here can explain the reaction of the union leaders ranting about not accepting this decision and they will appeal it? Do unions have the power to reverse a decision by a private company?
  14. I agree with everyone, the playoff format stinks. I did hear the explanation of why this format was put in place, but I still didn't get it and can't remember why they went this route. Something about rivalries???? Rivalries can beginning in the playoffs for grumps sake! The game last night showed the Leaf's amazing speed with an exclamation mark. They also seemed much more creative if that's possible with only one player being added. He seems to be able to raise everyone's game when he is playing.
  15. Probably, but I gave up hunting a while ago so I could spend more time fishing. There are a lot of diseases showing up in the world lately, so it could be a scary reality.
  16. I actually saw snowmobile tracks on Pigeon Lake on the weekend when the snow was melting. So sad to hear that someone so young lost their life.
  17. I will keep it zipped......
  18. Some nice looking fish and a treat to read on such a cold winter day, even though winter is a month away. LOL
  19. Please don't blame the parents without knowing for sure. I have seen some pretty messed up kids that were raised in some fine homes. Impulsiveness and making bad decisions are associated with some mental health issues that parents don't have any control over.
  20. Where and when? I need a tune up!
  21. Spanish Mackerel are a blast. I thought I had a good fish the first time I caught one and was quite surprised when it came to the side of the boat and was maybe 2 pounds.
  22. McLellan gone - Hitchcock in for the Oilers. What a thankless job coaching is. He might have lost the players with his attitude.
  23. I'm up for a peacock bass, but out of the Amazon! and of course anything else that bites in those waters. A 5 lb + male brookie, just so I can get a cool picture with all those amazing colours. Tarpon would be on the list also, but I worry about my back. I might have missed my opportunity when I was in St. Marteen, saw them all over the place and didn't have a rod with me. Fishing didn't seem to be a big thing there. Really, the list is endless...................
  24. Do you not have problems with seals or gaskets drying up and leaking later by draining fuel?
  25. Kapanen just might make many of us forget about Nylander.
