  1. Craig that is amazing, congrat's on the big musky! Kudos to your partner as well for putting you on the right spot.
  2. I had a horrible problem with porpoising when I maxed out my old 16' Lund when I put a 40 on it. Even in flat calm water it porpoised terribly. In addition turning and overall performance sucked. And yes, I tweaked the position of the motor on the transom as well as the prop. Ultimately I installed trim tabs and the problem was instantly gone as well as enjoying a very noticable improvement in performance. No more porpoising, on plane twice as fast, higher top end speed and much more control making tight turns. I wouldn't think twice about it. Install the correct trim tabs and be done with it.
  3. When I put the 40 horse on my 16' Lund a couple years back and maxed it out, it was initially horrible. Yeah, I had to tweak the position of the motor bolted to the transom as well as the prop, but that didn't help. My boat was so light for that motor it was literally hurtling out of control at top speed, porpoising even in flat calm water, and turning was a nightmare. I put the trim tabs on and the everything was fixed. An added bonus was getting on plane twice as fast and at a much lower speed...
  4. Just stunning Mike, wow!
  5. Absolutely hands down the best thing I ever installed on my boat. Performance was improved by 10,000 percent.
  6. Holy gar fest Batman! That's a whole lotta sharp spiny teeth.
  7. How does anyone really know what colors fish see best, and how they see them? It may be an educated hypothesis, but seriously it's all just guesswork. Mans hubris knows no bounds.
  8. Awesome Tyler, just awesome! Had no idea the fishing on Oba was quite that good. Have fun up there, I'll be looking forward to your report. Cheers
  9. Wow, some pretty nice fish there bud.
  10. I could give you a bunch of great locations, but here's one that stands out: http://www.brennanharbour.com/
  11. Excellent, that's what I'm aiming for. LOL! Maybe you can join me on one of these trips sometime.
  12. Way to go Chris, you must have been pumped! Glad to see you got out of the city for a few days, looks like a fun trip.
  13. It was amazing Chris, maybe the best fly in I've ever done. The brook trout fishing was incredible, honestly it was hard to tear myself away from it. The Dusey river was just phenominal. Walleye and pike fishing in the lake and parts of the river was just as good. Fantastic cabin as well with a Bosch on demand hot water heater. I'll have something posted by next week.
  14. Jack Black's School Of Rock!!!
  15. Fantastic photos of one of my favourite places!
  16. Excellent report, although some pictures would be nice. Man, you guys sure do eat well in the bush! This really deserved a separate post.
  17. Remember this Billy? Deja vu! HAHAHAHA! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KlsYH-eHAjQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  18. Regardless of the misadventures that's my kind of trip! Cliff, lake Travers is kind of tough...shallow with some nice sand beaches though. The best destination for a motorboat trip in the park for warmwater species is by far Cedar lake. Next time drive the little bit extra to Brent. MUCH nicer lake, really classic campsites and waaaay better fishing.
  19. There is only one answer. Head Stateside and bring a couple jugs of weed killer back.
  20. Yes indeed. It's 7'2" rated 4-8lb. So far I love it. It performs as well as any of the higher end Loomis rods I fish with and in fact has better fittings. The titanium frame SIC guides on that rod are worth more than what I paid for it. The only issue will be durability in the long term, but with a lifetime warranty I'm not really worried. If there could possibly be even the slightest criticism, because the handle is shorter than most the rod feels a teeny bit tip heavy, but I doubt most anglers would even notice that. I'm pretty sure with the shorter stiffer jigging rods that issue wouldn't exist anyway. Highly recommended, I'll be getting a couple more myself!
  21. Thanks all glad you enjoyed. I'm not likely going to make a habit of posting video reports, I much prefer writing, but it was kind of fun putting it together for a first attempt. I'm leaving tonight for Nakina. We'll be flying into the Dusey River for brookies and to a lesser extent walleye and pike. Should be a good trip report for this one, I'm pretty pumped about it. The fish weren't big at all, anywhere from 14-17" but incredibly abundant.
  22. Miro, that was really outstanding! Big congrat's on your success.
  23. Thanks bud (and to everyone else as well!). The segment with the wolf was my lame attempt at editing LOL! I added an "effect" to the clip. It's supposed to look grainy and old. I thought it gave the clip a Blair Witch kind of feel, but maybe not.
