  1. Sounds like a perfect morning Frank. Y'know though..hardware is equally effective in the river. It's not a tactic solely for using on piers and esturaies.
  2. All the best Mike, I'm rooting for you.
  3. Awesome Tyler, great stuff.
  4. Thanks for the update Wayne, great news about the bone marrow biopsy.
  5. I dabbled briefly with plastic floats. Some guys love them, I'm not one of them. Balsa all the way for me in a variety of shapes and sizes.
  6. Great fish man, you must've been stoked.
  7. Well actually they will be used for Bass as well. But right now as mentioned for steelhead. Not necessarily in frogwater either. They dive 6-7' and generally you're bumping the lip off rocks and occasionally stopping and letting them float up. Many of the hits are coming as the lure is floating up. They're a very tiny subtle bait with a very pronounced wobble. They cast incredibly well and are an excellent excellent bait for triggering strikes from inactive steelhead.
  8. No local retailer, had to buy them online. And yeah the quiet ones have no rattles... In general I agree with you, but 4 times recently I had my handed to me by a buddy throwing these baits for steelhead. The proof as they say is in the pudding. (They are deadly baits for steelhead) You do have to replace the small rear treble with a beefier #6 or you'll lose fish though.
  9. In case you guys don't know these lures are incredible! Hard to come by and a bit pricey...but worth it believe me. Just unwrapped my package and am currently salivating over these babies.
  10. Great stuff as usual Chris. Next time instead of stacking shot up under your float try utilizing a self c0cking float. If you don't have any you can make them easily by wrapping leadcore on the bottom stem and epoxying it.
  11. Just saw this now. There's no doubt in my mind you'll be fine, stay positive bud. For what it's worth a prayer has been sent. If and when you're ready for some more chrome I have a special place that I think I need to show you.
  12. Awesome, looks great. That was a staple in our household growing up, I'd forgotten about it.
  13. For a lot of years that's exactly what I did with our tree when Christmas was over. Cut a big hole with a chainsaw, weight the thing down and drop it down the hole. Usually on the big sandy perch flats. That tree stuck out like a neon sign. No one could figure out why we always slayed the jumbos LOL!
  14. I remember reading an article that Cronzy wrote in his magazine probably 25 years ago about dragging chains across Erie shoals to get the bass stirred up and active. In the old country across the pond "stoning" the pool is an age old tactic to get salmon active. (I can just picture the bank mutants on the Credit now hurling rocks at the chinny's to get them to bite )
  15. Matching the hatch should have guessed. Stirring up the bottom is an interesting idea, hopefully the bottom's clean out there. Thanks forthe response.
  16. Contributing to the delinquincy of minor eh Doug?
  17. Sounds like a great time. Dinner sounded spectacular.
  18. Aaron I run small stickbaits all the time off 3-way rigs or bottom bouncers but never diving crankbaits. What kind of lead are you running to the lure and why a crank and not a stickbait in that situation? Just curious. Nice fish btw, glad to see you boys hit a few.
  19. As has already been stated read the exceptions to the regulations. Many rivers have an extended season 'till Dec 31st that differ greatly from the year round zones. It's all there if you actually took the time to read the regs.
  20. Nice gesture by Eddie for sure. Chris for what it's worth I believe you're incorrect in that the 1:50,000 series tops are indeed available and do cover Windsor lake.
