  1. Hey Geoff I haven't tried this kind but when you spool it up take your spool off and soak it in hot water takes alot of the memory out of it

Hey folks I just wanted to give every one a FYI about this tourney on Longpoint Bay it's a fun event and gets ya out there fishing here's the info http://straitlineanglers.com/LongPointPike/LongPointPikeTournament.htm There is also another tourney the following weekend on the 14th for the LPBAA which is also a fun tourney http://longpointbayanglersassociation.com/calendar/event.php?eid=20090314083649542 Hope to see some OFNers out for these come say hi if you do.
  5. I hope there's no ice it's been wide open for over a week I plan on launchin the boat I'm talking about Long point Bay

  6. In my 14' tinner the motor was a manual trim and it didn't matter were I put it I had a hard time seeing over the bow while coming up on plane or slow speeds tried everything even spacers my buddy made wouldn't do it.I put a hydrofoil on it and that helped a lot but still had some issues, power trim it's not a issue at all.
  7. here's a few things I have picked up lately,I have 4 new rods on there way to me also
  8. This one could be interesting. I love tillers but with a young boy and a wife that is uncomfortable on the water I went with a full walk through I got a lund rebel 1825 xl sport have a look at the 1625 I sat in that boat and it is very nice takes up to a 75hp and is affordable.
  9. I'm not disagreeing with ya just saying that bigger is better but all depends on what your doing and what you can afford I went with a 24v 80lb on my 18'tinner because the banks paying for it LOL
  10. 40lb will barely move that boat I had a 12v 40lb PD on my 14' tinner and if the wind picked up even slightly it was way under powered made it very difficult to control the boat always better to have to much than not enough .what your suggesting(55lb) will work fine on calm days though.I wouldn't even try a 40lb
  11. Very sorry to hear Cliff Andy was a goergeous looking dog thanks for the pic Bly never a good thing to lose a beloved companion.
  12. for a 17' glass boat I would say 65 min but 80lb would be better you will definitely want a 24v TM 12v will just kill the batteries like crazy and they make some sweet lookin brackets for bow mounts on glass bowriders now seen them on a fish-n-ski at the london show.
  13. Done I will try to vote every day Wayne it won't let me share or I would do that to
  14. DO IT !!!!!!!!! How about Erie to I am SOOOOOOOO sick of seeing the slaughter board shots with 20-25 dead steelhead This is very good news
  15. I don't have a boat my driveway looks naked only 13 more days and I will be the bays wide open and I know 1 launch that is clear for sure
  16. A 40"+ pike and the 8lb bucket that I know is out there in long point bay somewhere just dying to meet me
  17. I will be pike fishing on april 2nd open year round on erie can't wait to break these puppies in.
  18. With one of these . http://www.basspro.com/Trac-Outboard-Motor-Brackets/product/10200395/-1548390
  19. what they said and hopefully you won't ever need it
  20. I wouldn't worry about putting a 1 peice rod in a car if you have fold down seats it's real easy to put them in and out of the car if not get a rod sleeve like the rod glove to protect your tip's, 1 peice feel way better than 2 IMO.I would also consider going with a MH fast action rod rather that the Mediums I really don't think anything lighter is needed for bass fishing unless your using less than 8lb test line. I run 20lb braid with a 8lb flouro leader on a 7'MH fast action for smallies drop shotting and never have a problem I also hauled LMB out of the weeds all day long on the same set up one day last year, prolly 20 bass without 1 break off. it's all personal preference but I think the lighter action rods aren't needed for bass fishing but thats just my opinion.
  21. Here's a huron trib bow with the same hunch back not near as fat though I didn't catch it just took a pic cause it was funny looking LOL
  22. LOL I fully meant to type Billy Bob ,apparently I forgot the Bob part.
