I’m gonna weigh in a bit here. Growing up in Oakville once upon a time when there was nothing above the Qew we use to hunt coyotes from upper middle road to Acton. some of it was just to go out and shoot coyotes to control them in our local area which if you don’t know was bountiful with all the variety of game a frost bitten Canadian boy could want. Absolute smorgasbord of wild game From our local area up it was all about the farmers. A large group of us from all points around the Halton umbrella would converge on farmers fields with their permission and begin the purge. Dogs and guns! It was a lot of fun always, really good times! But then the areas where we could discharge firearms got pushed further and further toward acton eventually putting an end to our very bountiful hunting escapades. Oakville was built with all interconnected trail systems effectively making it the perfect food conveyor the coyotes took full advantage and rein as kings raccoons are next and squirrel rats rounds it out. Before I left the coyote population was as big aa I’d ever seen it was nothing from rebbeca to the hiway to see 4 or 5 ia lot of mangy and sick looking to yotes I like coyotes like watching them hunt, out with their pups just being coyotes they can not be allowed to reign as it stands in the Gta it is a real and troubling issue but the bleeding and faint of heart types know what the solution is but just don’t have the stomach for it. No one else wants them. This is not cruel it’s reality. or just let binky Buffy and patches get carted off over the fence and most important of all DONT FEED THEM!!!!! I feel better now

So here I am almost at 60 And requirement has come up that I need a second class refrigeration ticket so I’ve been out of school for 40+ years and I’m looking at these books and doing the math. I’m in thermodynamics right now and my brain wants to explode. I’m plugging through it it’s tough. I’m glad I’m sitting in my barn. My whole mechanical life has been in the imperial system and starting grade 7 or eight. I guess they changed it over to metric I got through school I did pass got my grade 12, but metric never stuck with me throughout my mechanical career. I’ve always measured in imperial so it’s a little daunting I guess a case of I should have went with the flow. I have roughly 4 or five chapters each month that require a timed quiz at the end with the pass is 70 I have to leave the island and go to Halifax every month for the next five months 12 to 14 hour days and then in June for five days for review and an exam that gets me my refrigeration ticket seriously I really don’t need this crap but it’s for the good of the company and what the hell is good for me too and I’m gonna give it a shot🫵🤘 I guess in all reality you need to keep it all moving or you’ll rust seize up and die …not for me at this point in time far to spry to die Hugs and kisses Peter

My beloved Mission 753 have been in hibernation for the last 7 years I blew the tweeter out about then with my old tube amp it suffered a power issue that rippled out to the speakers So I bagged them up and that was that until yesterday. did a lot of research and endured a lot of drivel for “audiophiles” and landed on a matched set to bring them back to life keep in mind someone else had these for the better part of 15 years I love pawn shops! they were looking rough when I got them but the sound was magical anyway I’ll let the pictures do the talking going to rearrange the living room in the next couple days and find the right fit for these bad boys it’s been far to long not that I don’t have a special love for my psb’s just a little more for the mission’s

Hey Crowman Just curious you said youve been in Oakville for 50 years and been down to sting pike and whatever else how is it that i have never crossed paths with you at some point what was your hang out if you saw a black tinny at some point with shark jaws painted on it trolling the rivers and later on a white starcraft rough area where you live would be helpful but not necessary just curious i cant really tell what you look like in your profile picture cheers Peter

that has and will always be one of my favorite spots on Bronte creek

BTW, those coordinates are for 16 Mile... Yes they are!!!!!!!

I heard about the Ban I can guarantee you I will fish from shore if I do ever come back that way in the summer. Ill take the hit for it as, an OG Brontonian its my heritage right, %&$*em ! the picture is in the cove between the ramp and the bridge on the ice you can still slide in with the boat yes trout in july there has been a couple good runs over the years So where does Joe and Smitty and the Newfie fish now???? Cheers Peter
-
Just in case you are wondering there should be no boats in there now they would have been all pulled you will need to check(recon) the other time to go there 2 weeks to the day ice comes out the water is federal to the bridge fair game it’s a navigable waterway dont forget the smallies consistent footballs Good Luck!

Greetings from the Coast i dont do this but here it is anyway. seems to be a lot of guys with tinnies in the Gta just starting out. Now what I’m going to tell you works best on Clearwater days specifically this time of year I’m going to share with you a gator spot that is off the hook husky jerks work really well trick is to get along the bottom and you will be able to see the lure and the fish come in to strike electric is favourable but not necessary you can use a paddle to probe around. There are many places just like this all over the area. as a bonus some “very large”smallies so without further adoo (43.4409960, -79.6681976) enjoy if you dare

I hate still fishing really! I have attention issues and if have have to screw around counting and playing scientist it takes the rawness out of it and the shine comes off ive fished salmon on the big o for 50+ years and never used a line counter on a reel. planner boards, dipsies and all manner of salmon thingies just not my bag or a tool I would even remotely find interesting to each their own pass on the counter! peter

I’ve only ever used a counter on a down rigger never on a reel absolutely no conceivable reason for me to ever do that. im not the greatest fisher in the world but I can put a lot in a boat. it’s just me
