  1. well mainly i'll be going for lake trout. there are no real big ones that in the lake that i'll be fishing. there'll also be whitefish, perch, walleye and maybe specks. the drag seems good whe nits warm but i'll take your guys advice and check it out when i somewhat freeze it, lol. i just finished greasing up my good reel this morning before i went out to get me some whitefish (didnt catch none but their there alright).
  2. alrighty, i went to pick up a cheapy ice rod the other day for the (hopefully) up and comming season. it is a berkley lite medium action rod with a 1 bearing reel i believe. got it for $20.00 from the local trading post. anyone have this combo? it is my first ice rod too so the cheapy one fits in just fine. i got some berkley 4lb trilene already spooled on with plastic still covering the line, should i keep that line or???
  3. i'll tell you guys somethin..... i'll be goin for whitefish at the locks tomorrow ..... my buddies grandfather went there on wednesday and caught 3 but lost 2. so i think the odds are promissing.
  4. oh, well thanks for the info. man!
  5. lol. in this town its not all that easy to get a doctor. me and my family been here for about 2 1/2 years now and my father is the only one with a doctor cause his mother referred him to hers. me and the rest of my family have been on a waiting list for as long as we've been living here and so are a bunch of my friends and some of my relatives. i went to emerg. with a purple swollen ankle cause i was runnin around in the bush with my boots un-done (lol kinda stupid of me) and i had to sit in the waiting room for a good 3 hours and a person who was there after me (nothing wrong with them) got in before me. anyways thats my rant. and im not sure if Gavin has a Doc. either so, maybe he can see one without goin down to the walk-in and sittin forever.
  6. not too bad. about the only thing i've caught in the past week is a .5lb smallie Haha!
  7. well i bought myself a brand new 8hp brigs & straton "snow blower" last year. first one i've ever owned. starts super easy and even on the first pull.. just started it earlier today after it sitting all summer and she went first pull. so powerful it blows snow into my neighbours driveway which is quite the distance away. never had any problems with it. operates smoothly and easy to maintain and use. lol and it was the last one they had too, some lady was gunna buy it but she didnt call them back in her set time limit so they called me and told me to come pick it up! haha lucky me eh? anyhow good luck with your "snow thrower" search! oh and john deere is very reliable and easy to maintain! that goes for pretty much all of their equipment! good luck! OH AND i almost forgot. the old craftsman arent all that great, i have no clue how the newer ones are though. JP
  8. st joe's island eh? well i dont fish much around out there so i couldnt tell ya any hot spots... the one day i was at pine island on the labour day weekend me and my cousin took his truck out to his teachers place and he said they were pretty hot over by the light house (walleye) so maybe give 'er a try over there??..... but where im goin i'd rather not say right here, but if you really wanna know just PM me lol.
  9. ya man, some nice fish there... im thinkin of goin for pike and walleye soon myself... great job downtown though!!!

  11. well, here that? theres still coho to come! lol my bad.... i like your picture there too swordfish... habs do suck!
  12. Haha, Amen to that! aint nothin like it. well, im not much of a "steelheader" but i got some fantastic spots in the creeks for quality specks. Thats because no one else bothers to go as far up as i do!.... which is where a pond lays... anyways ya salmon are pretty well over, however there are the odd zombies and i'll get out for some chrome eventually..... JP
  13. not bad. alot better than im doin...... but thats because im not out haha. good luck on the next trip. JP
  14. hmm... still gotta till my stuff up. my garden wasnt the greatest this year. the carrots which is mostly what i wanted got eatin up by wroms. got tons of big 'taters. watermelon didnt grow. neither did my honey dew melon. got lots of beans and beats. peas too. corn didnt grow all that well but still tasted fantastic. got some nice strawberries and raspberries. onions didnt take too well. got SOME ripe tomatoes and the rest just rotted away. and finally, got some great cucmbers, and so many of them the little ones were turned into pickles.
  15. lol well my neighbour feeds the black squirrels and now on occasion when the blacks arent around he feeds the reds. he's got this little box set up with a lid on hinges so the squirrel just flips up the lid climbs right in grabs a few peanuts and runs off. and when there are no peanuts left in the box they wait at his door. this guy is damn near 100 years old and he's in fantastic shape! only looks about 76..... does everything himself except for cook cause he lives with his daughter. just thought i'd share that, lol.
  16. i agree with the floatation suit idea, and by the way that is a great find! but i've been through the ice a couple times, and have made it out fine and dandy (not to be rude or anything).. and i sure hope i didnt jinx myself for the upcoming season!
  17. LOL! hey folks, has anyone ever had a squirrel in their basement/house before? haha well, i had one in my basement not too long ago. i guess he got in from the chimney that comes outta my roof. there is a cage on it but i guess its not on very well. so my guess is he fell down the chimney and chewed a hole through the spray foam/insulation i had to cover up the hole from my old wood stove. so i walk downstairs right, he's sittin there starrin at me on my work bench, with his big eyes and i say "what the hell do you think your doin in here?" he stares at me for a bit longer then turns to the cat which is havin a jolly ol' time rollin around on the floor meowing tryin to get the little red squirrel to play with her. i call the dog over, she just tried to eat the damn thing, so after i got control of her, i put a pair of gloves on and took it outside but not without a few thoughts of it in a stew, lol! so i think it mighta but down there for a while cause i noticed that the insualtation kept being pulled down for about 3 days (thought it was the cat). i wish i got a pic of the little fella but i didnt think of that... im surprised he didnt run when he seen me. anyway this ever happen to anyone else?? hope you enjoyed reading my little highlight of my day, lol. JP
  18. LMAO! hurt feelings report.. now thats funny!
  19. wow, big argument about the whole H1N1 thing eh? lol well i was just talkin about general sickness but okay. i have asthma and will be getting the shot when its available and when i dont have to wait in line for hours. i do have a higher than normal body temp. but i feel great other than my sinus head ache and cough. and it sounds like GCD isnt afraid to speak his mind about the "skeerdy cats". haha
  20. well, im sure glad you think that way! most of us are not the way you just described. like i said me being sick is probably nothing and to match with you i got to walk some ways to get to school and have never once taken a ride. ya i do have respect for the older generation but not when they talk like their better than everyone!
  21. well, we're talkin any kind of sick really.. my symptoms are flu like but im sure its not the actual H1N1. as for the bunch of people missing from my school only about 4 had swine flu but the rest were just normal flu and really bad colds.
  22. right on man. i myself learned to ride on my uncles old panther 440 but learned how to ride properly on my old 377 single carb. she runs like a top too, some days when it hits -30 it'll take a few tries but its still strong. im thinkin about a dual carb kit. but i got to worry about buyin a bigger faster sled first.
  23. hey guys, well, im a grade 11 student up here in the north (sault ste. marie) and 261 kids called in sick the other day and today 300 somethin... i myself have developed "flu like symptoms" but im sure its nothin i got to worry about... anyway i just want to know how many people through out ontario are sick..? any schools closed yet? and maybe the few non-canadians on this site know about the sickness levels in their communities?
  24. jeez man, the guys that dont like country just dont bother to listen to the good songs!
  25. hey Ciceri, does that citation got a 377 or 277 in it?.... if its a 377 wanna give it up for parts? haha! just kiddin.
