  1. dedicated trail system for quads...... i dont think there are any during winter. ya, if you got the cash go for a quad with tracks. tracks are pretty dang expensive for me. but one thing to consider is quads weigh more than snowmobiles and disperse weight completely different so theres certainly more of a risk taking an ATV out on the ice. in my opinion i think you would be happier with a quad because at least you can ride them year round without messin them up haha.
  2. hey folks, just sittin here, being bored and such. just wondering if anyone could point me into the direction of a lake/pond that i could get to from town here (sault ste. marie)... i live in the west end right by goulais ave. im not picky about the species just want somewhere to go (preferably somthin edible). my sleds are deffinately capable of breaking trails. thanks, JP
  3. ive got a few questions for this.... well, one really. would i sitll be able to join up if i dont particularly get out that often? i dont get out to the bigger lakes too often, im more creek fishing and shore fishing at the local locks. i still have yet to catch one of them damn illusive walleye down at the locks too...
  4. and bake....
  5. correct, the OFSC trails and im pretty sure other snowmobile trails dont allow ATV's on them during winter. A 4 wheeler is good when there isnt much snow, but when theres a decent amount of it on the ground your better off with a sled! tracks are a good thing for your 4 wheeler cause you can get year round use out of them too, but they also limit your speed. i love 4 wheeling and im gettin another one this spring along with a truck..... FINALLY, lol. sold my ATV before winter and was a huge mistake, im kinda missing the easy doughnuts right now haha. either way, i would rather a snowmobile for ice fishing. they also disperse weight a little bit better on the ice too. if you decide to grab a quad, make sure it isnt a variable speed transmission. i rather the shaft drive with either automatic or standard transmission cause to me their a little more reliable, specially through mud and what not. so its up to you, keep what i said in mind. JP
  6. well, thanks for the advice boys. she stopped for now and i hope she keeps it that way for some time to come!
  7. to clarify it was not an "online" relationship haha.
  8. well me not thinkin deleted her emails from a while ago, now she just started it up again today. she cant even look me in the face when i see her here and there......
  9. im having these issues with my ex G.F. she keeps harassing me over the internet and its really starting to get under my skin.... can someone suggest somthin to do? i've considered going to the police and im not gunna stoop to her level. thanks for any help lol, JP
  10. i'll buy it for parts
  11. my buddy has one, a 1991 yamaha venture 500 f/c. reliable so far never had any problems with it, even the bearings are original but are gettin replaced in the next few days. Im pretty sure he's leaning towards sellin it so if you want i'll keep you updated about it? unless of course your looking for a newer model.
  12. i should add that me and my buddies were breaking trail in about 3-4 feet of powder just for fun, they each had 1991 polaris indy lite gt 340's wtih long tracks and i followed behind on my 81 citation 377, had no problems except gettin stuck on a hill not carrying enough momentum haha.
  13. well, 500 fan cooled would be in your best interest. im not that into speed but its nice to have when your just playing around. if i was you i'd go for more of a liquid cooled approach with mixed gas, oil injectors have attendency to fail, like my 1993 safari 503 the drive gear in the oil injector stripped and seized up my engine but its not a big mess just new pistons and rings. my oil injector in my 1992 safari 462 liquid cooled is still great and that is a good reliable sled so far. my 1981 citation 377 is just a short track, lol i just keep the momentum going with that sled while im breaking trails and she goes, best part is its nice and light.
  14. well, people have their own opinions on cats but the common thing with them is coils, or so i've heard and read. yamaha sleds are a good one too, yamaha fx nytro m-tx 15" x 153" track, reliable and my friend owns one thats never let him down yet. another one is arctic cat mountain cat 800, once again another good sled so i've heard but i dont particularly go on word of mouth. ski-doo summit is another great one! i know from personal experiance with that beauty. find a reliable sled with some good power, a long track and throw a nice paddle track on and you shouldnt have too much of a problem. you'll be able to come to a dead stop pretty much anywhere and be off again, best idea is do your research and find the sled that peaks your interest but a nice paddle is usually the ticket provided you have enough power to turn it haha!!! forgot the assault rmk beauty of a sled and she gets the work done!
  15. good question, i got 4lb trilene spooled onto my ice rod, but i havent used it yet. and i have a full spool of 8lb trilene extra tough. so, who knows. thats the line i rely on my whole softwater season! it works fantastic and i hope it holds up when i finally get out on the ice!
  16. well, i left that for xeon, but uhh..... good enough, lol....... your right by the way!
  17. this secret somthing isnt much of a secret, its just a household spice i learned from the internet attracts whitefish. i just tie it to my shoe while im doing stationary fishing cause there isnt anything else to hook it onto. lets see if you can guess my "secret" spice lol
  18. honestly one of the most moronic things i've seen yet......
  19. i "bait" when i fish too, along the pier i use "something" in a little sack, tied to my shoe and then lowered into the water which disperses scent into the water. i noticed it actually puts my catch rate way up!
  20. bring your fancy suit on by then, i'll test it for ya
  21. it cant be to bad seeing as how theres huts out on the bay right now. me and my buddy were parked side by side while we were on our snowmobiles last year and we're both BIG guys. we didnt fall through the ice so all was good, besides the fact i wasnt fishing and we watched a few guys pull some nice fish up. if theres still snow covering my street tomorrow i'll have to take a ride to the bay on my sled
  22. no kidding eh? i just moved back here 3 years ago after being away in oshawa and bowmanville for 12 or 13 years. i dont really think a whole lot has changed, besides the good ol' trails and where you can fish.
  23. dont mean to annoy with my constant bay topics, lol. But i just want a little reassurance on one thing, im a 230lb guy and am looking to take my citation 377 out to leigh's bay for some ice fishing early saturday morning. would it be safe to drive the old sled out onto the ice or should i park it on shore and haul my gear to the desired location? and do i have to be choosy with my spot or are them there whities all over the bay? i should have added this for the none local guys willing to help: ice should be around 7-8" maybe more... thanks for any help guys, JP
  24. haha, nice picture.
