  1. yes hopefully, i find it extremely frustrating when i cant catch anything unless im deep in the bush.
  2. ......the only thing i ever caught around echo bay is smallies, my uncle caught a 12" pike from under the bridge and a catfish. but anywho, all around the soo is good for pike, best pike waters i've ever been in though is wakomata lake <(some real nice biggins in there) and some of the lakes between wawa and whiteriver. and ya st joe's island too, even though last time i went the weather was crap and they werent really feeding.(i was fishing around the bridge). the walleye night bite is decent too in the current around the bridge.
  3. but the question is though, how long will these bugs last?....... i hope not to long anyway
  4. ya i went about friday or saturday in the morning around 10:00 and stayed to about 2:30 and not a bite i was using a yellow teardrop and tried to tip it with all sorts of stuff.... even alive.... haha tried to tip it with a single egg too....... but anyhow when i was there only 2 different guys caught 1 whitefish each... about a week back i got a really nice whitie about 4 lbs and im not sure if it was a steelhead or atlantic, pink.... i dont know but i caught one of those too and it was about 5.5 lbs all on my yellow teardrop not tipped at all. oh and i shore fish, got a boat last year and havent had the chance to put it in the water... yet...... but it'll get there.
  5. i seen a fishing show they were draggin a tube in about 30 f.o.w. and had some great success and it was about this time of year.... but anyhow just find the good structure, rock piles etc. and smallies LOVE crayfish. good luck out there!
  6. ya i have to admit i've been living here for about a year now i left the city when i was about 3. my best fishing experiance was last year out at obatanga park and in burnfield and cotton lake. in burnfield i spent 3 days fishing there with catching nothing but nice pike and the day before we left i nailed a nice 20" walleye. funny thing is there were americans in the lot beside us and they just caught lots of pike
  7. YES!!! theres lots and some nice big ones to! i recommend going up whitmandam road and keep a lookout for some clearings and you should find some nice patches.... but a little further up the road their logging and we travelled a little around there and not to far past the logging theres a part of the road that looked a little too daring for the van so i'd watch it, and also st. joe's looks pretty good..... might be already picked though.
  8. haha so i heard about the walleye in the river.... my fathers friend from work says he catches them around the locks along with bass and pike. i'd just like to know what he uses.... worm harnesses etc.? i just know i love to jig.... even though i've never really caught a fish jigging but thats probably because i just started practising it a few weeks ago... i got it down for whitefish
  9. ya, i was cruising some old logging roads and backroads yesterday and we were smack in the middle of that storm and could just barely see out the windshield and within a few seconds the rain was so heavy the ditches filled right up and roads started flooding and the washouts were almost bad enough we almost couldnt make it around with our mini van hahaha!...... i guess next time i go looking for blueberries it'll be when theres NO storm warnings.
  10. i dont fly fish but i do have an assortment of flys just to tie on and let float down stream but i have never been sucsessful at that. i live in sault ste marie, ont. and would like some tips on catching steelhead and whitefish. i use a yellow teardrop for the whitefish and have caught 1 steelhead with it. thanks.
  11. Hello, i just moved to sault ste. marie and i was wondering who knows about fishing around the locks, i've been there salmon fishing in the rapids with spoons and whitefish fishing off of the pier by the steel plant for whitefish and steelhead. I want to know what other fish i could catch around there and how to catch them. Thanks.
