Need good spinning reel for Pike fishing
holdfast replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
Ive been using a Mitchell Spidercast for a decade now, Big Powerful Reel. Also a Mitchell 300, the newer ones. Excellent Capacity and drags on Both of them. -
All I seen him do yesterday was flopping on the ice and barking like a seal. Other than that, invisible. Oh yea, way too many penaltys, I mean Boston. Watch the other Games, except Ottawa, and tell me if Mtls little fellas, and big Muffies, stand up to the other teams. They are playing like theyre at war with each other. Not the turn my back when I hit, or get hit, so I wont get bruised type game, that MTL favors. As far as getting his head drilled, seems like it worked, Kovelev and the other Russians are puck shy now.

yea typical. A bit of hitting and the Europeans disappear ( Practically the whole Team). Where was the Habs tough, lead by example Captain. Mtl has no chance if they make it past Boston. For the Record, I feel sorry for my favorite player Komeserek. The only guy with Balls. Oh and Carrey also. He was doing the work that Hamerlik, Markov, Brisbois (AKA BROKENWOOD) Streit, did I leave any European or Quebec defence out. Where is Boullion anyways and that new guy number 3.

NF Lowering the flag above the Peace tower.

Lew well said. Believe it or not every serving soldier would agree with you. They will tell you that a training accident in Wainwright should not be different than a Death in Afghanistan. Im sure that when the Conservatives wanted to change it back to the way it used to be, their special panel was probably made up of at least one legion member, maybe a high ranking soldier, and possibly a couple of non Politicians that didnt give a hoot about votes. Maybe some clear thinkers. Its bad enough that it goes to half mast for politions that I couldnt even name, and a waste of rations. But those special Days? did you see what they are. Lets Half Mast that flag everyday for something. -

I really dont think that is the reason. Maybe the Legion has a point. -
Im really depressed. 123.9 for a week and predictions 1.50. Found out on the Radio that according to an expert, Eastern Canada and Western Canada have two different conversions to Calculate the pump price from the world market price. GO FIGURE EH. TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL OH YEA FCK ANY ENVIROMENTAL TAX

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/04/02/...on.html?ref=rss Seems this slipped by most people but to us few that are inspired by our flag I was just wondering what your view is. Seems most Canadians approve of what has just passed as a motion by our beloved liberals NDP and the BLOCK http://www.canadianheritage.gc.ca/progs/cp.../occasion_e.cfm As of Now, our National flag(above the Peace tower) will be at half Mast for the following days and reasons. Death of Governor General and Prime minister, Sovereign Family, Former Governor General, Chief Justice and members of the Canadian Ministry, Lt Governors, Privy Councilor and Senators, Members of the house of Commons Special Days Workers Mourning Day Police and Peace officer National Day National Day of Remembrance and action on violence against women (THATS NOT A JOKE) Vimy Ridge Day Soldiers killed in Afghanistan and Peace Keeping Missions I'm sure I missed others. Nov 11 I as a former Soldier believes in what the special panel had to say. Scrap all the Special Days and half mast only for Nov 11. I think most soldiers would prefer that to every time a soldier Dies. Its fair for all soldiers that give their lives even in Training. Once is enough. What is your take.

Excellent answer. The only thing I would add is that most of my hits are during the Pause. At night I use what seems like an eternity pause. Maybe 3 secs

spinning reel cleaning (old post, slightly modified)
holdfast replied to goteeboy's topic in General Discussion
Thanks your right as to the confusion ref wheel bearings. I always thought that since the reel is sealed in grease with bearings so would the bearings in grease. Im wrong but Im glad Ive been told the proper way. Good thing I havent touched a reel since before the Balanced Rotor days. -

Wow Thanks a lot that was great and I like the baggie tip. Can you please, please, maybe do a Baitcaster as Ive done spinning reels but never a baitcaster. I have one question though. Are you sure about the bearings in oil and not Grease. Can you clarify plse or elaborate -

I got guaranteed rust proofing for my Car. But the fine line after page 30 in the contract states only if it rusts from the inside to the outside. THERES ALWAYS A CATCH EH

Reigler Hells Anything German that's not an import. Ah German Beer, Luke Warm. A Pilsner takes half an hour to pour, so you have to allow a half hour to order. Oh Ya, drinking from the Glass boot, gots to watch for that bubble. Ya the beer man dropping a case off at your house just like the milkman used to do. And the construction workers taking a breather with a beer in heavy traffic. The best part is, each town made its own beer and they were all good. Never did make it to the Monastery where the Monks supposedly made the best beer in the world. If Im not mistaken I think it was a castle in a town called Monster. I miss Germany, a great place to live for 4 years. When I got back it took me several months to get drunk on Canadian Beer as the strong German beer made my system sort of Immune

Still Solid but we seem to be having a tough time shaking off the winter.

No I never asked the guy. But in the spring apparently the Walleye fishing is good. You got to find them. I fished the lake a couple of times but only caught some small jack. Seems the best fishing is in the winter or when the Indians are netting. Its definately not a pretty lake though. I suppose from the air it would look like a giant pothole. Give me a dingle next time your in town

Hey hes Montreal's Brisebois (AKA Broken-wood) but at least he stands up and fights. On a better note. Why did mtl put Kovalev as the Captain. That was stupid. Hes got no grit, especially if they make it against a Western Team. They wont even get past their own league.

Yea sure, whatever you say. The Leafs pulled another Moronic move by putting themselves out of the number one draft picks by actually playng good when they shouldnt of.

Yup I like the Music too. What I know of Pigeon is what you said. Excellent fishery and especially so close to Edmonton. They also have an Excellent kids Ice Derby that the Fishing Alberta show promotes. My favorite Lake is Wolf Lake North of St Paul East of Lac La'biche. By the way I met a guy that works for the RM of Meota that just caught a 24lb pike the other day in Murray lake.

Every time I moved I ended up painting my house and believe me I moved a lot. What Workwear says is exactly what the pros will say when it comes to painting. What Ive learned is that the more shine the more durability. So Kitchens and Bathrooms gloss, also the trim along the floors. I like semi Gloss for the walls. Its durable and easy to clean. If you got condensation in the house go for gloss. As mentioned Oil is more durable than Latex. So for me Kitchens and Bathrooms oil base gloss. Id even use oil gloss for outside doors. You must know what your painting on top of. If you don't know get a good primer. As far as Paint. Ive always used the Walmart Color Your World Paint. American Consumers had it as number two as a $15 can only topped by a $28 brand name. Ive always used it and the longest I seen was seven years without the White, Yellowing. One last thing 80% painting is the Prep work.

Go to old Montreal and take her for a Carriage Ride. Make sure Kramer isn't the driver. Definitely take the Metro just for the Experience and stop at St Catherine's or University street. I would shop on the South Shore Tashereau Blvd. Start at the Champlain Mall. Being a Cop you might find St Helene's Island interesting I believe there is a fort there. If not Fort Chambly is interesting. You Can also check out Lebarons. For food you got to try the Cheap steamed hotdogs. Submarines ie Vincents or the Belle Province Restaurants. Chinoys makes a great smoked Meat sandwhich. Go to a Movie theatre on St Catherines, I say that because mingle with the people. Other than that, My experiences are the Skin Bars

Not quite sure how to handle this, Suggestions?
holdfast replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
I dont get it. There must be more to fighting over a POM POM. Unless the guy was gay. Otherwise Id forget about it. IF Not, try the letter. -
Jersey Dog you make an excellent case with your figures. In my case gas would be higher. 118 now and threatening to go higher. I truly don't mind the trip as my job is an 8 hour job and for 3 years I traveled 25 minutes to Wainwright and I think it was about the same from Wasaga to Borden. My only Road Rage was in the summer entering Wasaga with all the out of town Idiots acting like they own the place. But for 40 minute drive to the oil patch I HATED IT. Mostly because it seemed I left in the Dark and came home in the Dark. My big reason for possibly the move is, I'm so close to fishing, I may get a better house for cheaper which could possibly put me mortgage free. I'm 49, so I still have to work, but all I need is a job that is just above minimum to put me in the same lifestyle as I previously had when I was in the Military thanks to my non Indexed pension. So I'm not really stuck for a high paying job. Kids are just about grown up, so they're not an issue and no doubt they will be all over the place as I have one in Calgary. But I really appreciate listening to both sides of the story. One last note, I would be taking advantage of the value of my house as it doubled in two years, but there is absolutely no advantage to moving within the city as everything has gone up (ITS an Alberta Type Boom) but there may be a small advantage to moving outside and unfortunately, the best is 67 kms as everywhere else, its close to an oil patch. This town Borders the Boreal forest so south is prairie, and North is forest.
