Like I said, seems your post got gagged, fish below the rapids where the Petawawa runs into the Ottawa. This Kitty Cat gave me a good Fight on six pound test using Fish Guts. Picture Taken at my Dads place across the Pet River from the CFB Pet Golf Course. There is sturgeon and Gar and a 35 lb plus pike that was netted in that hole by the MNR. I also caught a trophy Walleye there in the spring around this time of year

Shhhhhhh, your scaring one of our provinces. The near mention of war will send them running for the hills and seeking more money. Shhhhh. The devil made me say that.

OMG, I havent seen wooden plugs like that since my Vermont days when I was a Kid what the old locals were using. The MILLER Spoon Awesome. My old man gave me a Beer (Miller) Tab, put hooks on it and laughed while he gave it to me and called the Millers Spoon. Asksed me several times if I remembered it till the day he died last year. Never knew there was a real one.

My choice for Back lakes and my trunk

Man I just dont get it. Gas is going up like crazy and everybody wants an SUV. My vote would be go for a small wagon like the toyota Matrix. Unlress you want to tow a monster boat. Roomy, great on gas, good resale, CHEAPER. Now as far as government gas milages. Be aware some companys test their cars with the wheel rotating on a Mileage wheel, like a stationary bike with no resistance.

This weekend I decided to leave the Boat at the Trailer and try this Lake that my Neighbor said that had big Pike and Walleye in. Apparently he was saying some Trapper introduced the walleye into the lake. Neighbor said he caught a six pound walleye but he wasn't sure if they were reproducing. he figures it was the Trappers stocked fish he may of caught. So I took the canoe in case of poor road and launch sites. In the end it was a good move. http://www.touratel.com/ Dugout Lake I would figure is at least an hours drive off the main logging Road and who knows how long off the beaten trail So I loaded up the canoe and some gear roughly 3 PM Saturday. The day was sunny and the winds were calm The drive is beautiful as I am in the heart of Logging Country. Big River is a Logging Community however the Mill has been shutdown for three years now. Water property was selling for 15 thousand two years ago, I could of and should of bought a house for 25 thousand but opted for the mobile for 9. Housing has gone up and the rich Albertans are driving prices up now. Too many red plates if you ask me driving up prices. I finally found the lake thanks to my GPS and map reading. My GPS readings were up to 400 meters from any road leaving me to believe the map is inaccurate. Yup I had the right Map Datum. I only used the GPS just to see where I was on the map as its a killer on the batteries and I may need it at night. Too many trails. I just hope I dont meet any banjo playing, Pig loving strangers. So I unloaded my gear. Full Tackle Box, Lip Balm, Bug Juice, Map & compass, GPS, Light and Medium Rods, anchor, and Pack with water some clothes and Binos, snacks. There's a small but extremely steep trail to the Lake. With the paddling and pulling the canoe back up the trail was a good workout What a beautiful small lake. Kind of wondered if there really would be any large fish. but it'll be fun to find out... There is no way I want to get in trouble as there wasn't a soul around, and probably wont be. But there is a good sign as somebody at one time was cleaning fish on this piece of plywood for a make shift table. I also wondered if maybe the natives were here netting, as they can easily get in here thanks to the roads and trails that have been opened up due to logging. Its known out here that the lakes that have been or are netted, the fishing has collapsed. Its a sad fact whether we like it or not. These are the lures that Ill try first. Medium sinking Rapala and my favorite, a large perch pattern Floating Rapala. Its never let me down. Great for trolling and casting. Later Ill try a large Jig that I believe had a good size walleye follow. Oh know! Rats on board again. Well I'm not totally alone. She loves the outdoors, but I cant help think that shes Bear bait and id be in the way. I had to grab her one time when two foxes decided to test her once camping. My third small Pike. Trying to get decent pictures in the canoe proved to be frustrating. With the wind and only a 15 second timer and a dog that moves in the wrong direction, well these are the best photos I could come up with In this photo, there is a small white speck on the shoreline left of centre. I was quietly casting when I looked at shore and seen this huge Grey wolf drinking water. The distance was a lot closer that what the photo shows. Id say I was 40 meters from shore and my heart was pounding. The wolf stared for a good 15 seconds moved along the shore in line of us the stared at me or the dog again before slowly disappearing. Ive seen Wolves in Algonquin but only while driving and this thing was huge. My heart was pounding like crazy and barely got a picture. That made my day. I want a better camera for fathers day. Hint This was the best pike of the day which gave me decent fight. I ended on sure not far from the wolf thanks to the wind. I wasn't keen on staying there too long. You'll noticed that this Pike has an injury. My guess another Pike or talons as I doubt that there are too many if any motor boats. I figured Id do one more run as the wind was getting too strong for trolling. I really wished I had brought bait as I would of loved to see what would bite while anchored. It got to be a bother fighting the wind all the time. One last small pike before heading back. Well it was about 8 Pm and decided to pack up before dark. I lost the dog for about ten minutes as she scooted up the trail. I thought if I don't get the rat home I wouldn't be married and she would of never believed that I lost the dog sober. I found her eventually. I drove a couple of hundred meters and found this other beautiful lake called Baxter. It was calm, go figure and had a rugged boat launch. It was a Gem The Beauty of it is there is a crude camping area. Not a soul, a perfect place to camp with solitude, good fishing, and FREE Next time if the weather is good I will take the boat to Hackett Lake to fish Walleye. I have my depth finder which will help. I had my daughter with me Last year and had the best Pickeral fishing of my life, using dead minnows with a sinker and hook. Till next time

Hey fellas, don't blame the Albertans and now Saskatchewan, they just want something for their resource before it goes around the BIG GREED and back to our pumps. here's where I would put blame. The Idiots warning us high prices before it happens. The Doom and Gloom Idiots warning if we don't do anything now, we will die from Global Warming. Great Idea, lets produce Ethanol instead of food. WHOOP, WHOOP, WHOOP, lets raise the price of gas in case of a storm somewheres on the Ocean. Now I'm waiting for the Clowns, to vote for the Biggest Clown out East that has suggested we have an Environmental tax. With all these insane Ideas, there is still no stopping the uncontrolled price increase. I would like to Know, Is it only North America that have these Retarded Fluctuations at the pumps

Up here where everybody bleeds Green, and probably the best football fans in Canada, the big talk is that led Zepplin is playing four day shows in TORONTO. The only shows in the world. Now that would make more sense than seeing the Bills in TO and worth the money

I wanted to test the Picture thing here so I added some photos that might be interesting at my trailer in Big river Saskatchewan. Thanks to Cliff he gave me the Idea for an outboard Mount. I just added Bicycle wheels so I can move my Honda as she is quite heavy Not so bad moving it from my garage to the truck at my house in North Battleford. Hope the engine works as when I layed it on the ground she leaked oil My portable fire pit worked out well. All my projects didnt cost me a dime as everything I used was salvaged from the Dump. I actually found a grill which I put on top and had some hamburgers. This is probably my favorite Project. I found some plans on the Internet and decided to Build an Adirondack Chair and Table. Not doing too much woodworking since High school, once I got started I was hooked. You can also see the shelves that i had built Not sure what these Items were. Maybe for shoes, but I thought it would make a good Fishing rod rack. Just needed some spray paint and a drill. My stereo stand that I made for my old stereo. I got a good deal on Polk tower speakers and thought why not have a stereo with my cassettes and LPs that are tucked away at home. At the trailer on the porch in the little room the sound is awesome. I dont feel bad as the rednecks up the road has their country tunes blairing. I aint complaining, Neither is my wife, she would rather stay at home. Fine with me. Now what Ive been waiting for all year. Fishing. The boat is ready. lets hope the motor is good. But first I want to see how I can take a picture alone in case I catch a fish. Thanks to an OFC thread, I actually found a way. seems to work on the Bow. Ill do a test on the water later. Motor started like a Honda, just as if I had it out the Day before. Decided to troll but only one small Jack. But the sights were great and everything seems to be working fine. But a big Bummer. I only realized after I put the boat in the water that I forgot my fishfinder at home. Felt really blind as I didnt know the depths I was fishing. There's a Rat on Board, Wonder if I should use her for Bait. Ill tell the wife, an Eagle grabbed her. Must of heard me. Well no fish caught, but I guess I better be quicker and not panic as this test photo shows. seems I barely had time to set the camera and pose. No real fish caught, but I got some good Int by some of the Locals on where to find monster pike. Opening Day was a good test run for the fishing season at least

Two hours from the Tim Hortons in Wasaga Beach to my House in Wasaga Beach. It was the Last Day of July 1st weekend and the Cityiots were racing to get home but going nowhere and I got stuck in the middle. Not the longest, but definitely the most aggravating.

Maybe funny but so true. -Got the strap in school, no problem, felt like an outcast for a few days but learned my lesson. Fought after school instead of during after that -Got beat up by more than one Frenchman when I was a kid. Cried to Pops but gave me a whack and told me Id get it worse if I came home crying again. Too easy, stood up for myself after that. - Tried to score many times by making the first attempt, sometimes it worked. Wouldn't think of doing it again if I was a teenager again, with all the Harassment issues. - Told my kid I would spank her Bum if she didnt behave, while in line at the checkout. About a dozen women looked at me with an evil look. - Watched a father get carted away and questioned by the Police as a Predator, when all he was doing was sitting in his Van waiting for his kid who was late. I witnessed a Mother calling police. After that avoided as much as possible picking up my kids without my wife with me. -Played football and British Bulldog during recess, and never cried when I got thumped. Had students that came up to me and asked me. Warrant should I go to the Base hospital because of this lump or bruise on my leg. Looked at the young man and asked him if he ever had a fight or played sports. No just video games. - Now we have students with hidden tape recorders, and a notebook taking notes in order to cry harassment every time they feel like they've been done wrong. OH and its always the INSTRUCTORS FAULT

OH, Oh, we're next

Hey, Squeel like a piggy, you just made a racist comment to all the so called red necks. What a go, your no better you bleeding heart attention getter. I bet you go around with a notebook taking names don't you every time you feel harrassed. What I got from 2 Tones comment was that he thought there should be a different section for this kind of thread and all he wanted to see a fishing only with pictures as he was tired with the Bull on the subject. I don't agree with him, but you don't have to call him names and make accusations that are not warranted. And especially stop playing moral cop and throwing the Racist accusation word around. Too many people are doing it on the board here.

Yup Enforcement. Fine the kid heavily and revoke his licence for a few years. And No Excuses either from the kid.

QUOTE(Photoz @ May 11 2008, 01:05 PM) am I over-reacting . . . . Absolutly not overacting. Not doing anything about it is just as much of a disgrace. Kind of reminds me of Canada Day a couple of years ago in Wasaga Beach. During the soccer Championships. It was absolutely discusting and shameful. A disgrace that I never want to witness again. Ya Photoz you are absolutely right to feel as you do.

I guess hooking a live minnow through the back is out.

SUPER SPIKE Yesterday our gas went up 5 cents to $132.9. Oddly enough, the forecasters are predicting a Super Spike at the world market and the pumps. If 5 cents ain't it, we're in real trouble. Lets see, another week before the long weeknd and opening day. Would I ever want to put my hands around the Necks of the Fat Cats making money and taking advantage of us. Time for a truckers strike. We should be, meaning Canadians making Billions off our own resources instead of Husky, Suncor, PetroCan and the works. I still dont buy the crap that the reason prices are so high is because of India and China. They are 95% self sufficient and don't buy from the market as we do and their Economy has not changed as drastically as much as the price per Barrel in one year says one expert. Dont compare our prices with Europe as the Companies want us to inorder to ease the pain, because as far as Im concerned, our Resource, were IDIOTS if we dont get a discount.

Yea I went to the same sleep study that you mention with all the wires and stuff. Found out that I had severe sleep Apnea. Apparently Ill stop breathing for a second or two and then carry on. Dr says that I lose 10% oxygen a night, my problem is the snoring. I don't know how many times I would wake up feeling I just got a boot in the head. Not to funny when your in a defensive sleeping in a trench and having your Commander tell ya get the hell out before I give away the position to the Enemy. Anyways I was given the CPAP and it has stayed under the bed for about three month now. Ive tried it a few times but I always wake up anyways either dry or foaming out the mouth because of the setup. Since getting out of the forces, they abandoned all my medical coverages, hence I was left out. I did see a throat specialist and with in 2 minutes he told me to block one nostril and breath out of the other. I found out that my nostril was partially blocked, the Doc took his hand and placed it beside my nostril and slightly lifted the skin and told me to breathe again and I found out that I had a good unobstructed breath. It took this Dr less than two minutes and he suggested that I get an operation which will cure my Apnea. My problem is that I would be off work for two weeks without pay. One of these days I guess Ill get it looked after.
