I got to admit that I do whine about gas prices. Because I know that we are getting Robbed. I know that the Speculaters and the Gas Companies are in Bed togeather. What I also know is that the Governments in Canada if they (want) can do someting about it. Its our (Canadas) Resource don't forget. Maybe why you can tell me why the big jump. Remember also, Albertas and Saskatchewans economy will prosper if gas goes up. But the reality is that I travel a distance to work and pleasure and there is nothing that kills my pocketbook than the price of gas. Oh yea, then there is the fallout for food prices. I really got to shake my head. Our Gas just sky rocketed 10 cents without notice. Guy on the Radio says his information (watchdog) had two explanations. 1. Oil Companies have lost money since last April 2. Oil Companies are creatures of habit and this is expected at this time of year Just curious on you guys if its happened yet to you. If not Oil companies are creatures of Habit! so expect it. When it was approx $140 a Barrel it was $1.39.9 at the pumps. So it jumped tonite from .73 to .85 Any guesses if it reaches $140 a Barrel at this rate how much it will be at the Pumps? Fantastic Marketing

Speaking of Trash, one of my Jobs as the Village Foreman is to keep the Village Resort clean. Yea I pick up trash. Its totally unbelievable. There is absolutely no respect for the Environment, Local citizens and in this case other fisherman. One day Ill spend a few hours picking up trash and the next Day I cant believe the Garbage people left behind the last evening. Mostly McDonald's Crap, Timmies, Bottles, cans, etc. I told the Mayor, my Boss, that I refuse to pick up the Garbage around the Hotel ( Local Drinking establishment) because I absolutely think its degrading for me to pick it up when dozens of patrons and employees sit there smoking and joking instead of picking it up. I found that its mostly the out of towners that are the worst culprits. Its a small town here and word gets around fast and I believe most villagers here respect their own town. One good point though, I was busy working on a culvert when I heard a commotion behind me, an older fella giving a teenager heck for tossing crap on the ground. I watched the kid pick it up, waited till the Snr take off then he dumped on the ground again like a smartass with a big smile on his puss.. The Army came out of me when I embarrassed him in front of his girlfriend. My point is, its everybody's responsibility to clean your campsites, towns, etc. Don'T just rely on the guy getting paid, because its never ending and its a poor attitude ( yea, someone else will do it!). I found this type thread more interesting when it came out last year with the originator showing pictures of trash that he obviously picked up around his favorite fishing hole. He got congratulated as a do-er and not a whiner

One of the Best fights I had. I usually never fish in the current as it is really strong I decided to give it a try with an oversize sinker and what was left of my sucker, mostly the insides. It took me and my Brother an hour to land him in my canoe. I had to use my gaff to lift him through the gills as not to hurt him and took the picture at my late dads place just up from shore and hopefully its still somewhere in the Pet or Ottawa Rivers

As far as I know there is no Bass Fishery in Alberta. In Saskatchewan there is only one Lake, actually a reservoir with a Good large mouth Population. In BC there are several Small fishing lakes mostly on the Island that I know of. I really miss Bass Fishing, but in the back of my mind I actually got tired of it when I was in Ontario. As far as Alberta is concerned you have some fantastic fishing that's within the same distance as TO to Cottage country. The only difference is you will not see as many Built up Areas. Most lakes are one way in, one way out, and that's to the Boat Launch at the Provincial Park. What you don't get as far as Bass is concerned is that you can drive to Trophy Pike and Walleye Lakes within 2 Hours of Edmonton. In Calgary your 2 Minutes to the best trout waters for Brown and Rainbow the Bow River and its Tribs. Of course within an hour your into glacier fed trout streams and Grizzlies, cougar country. If you plan on Edmonton I can give you directions and a Camping(My own site by boat) site on my all time favorite fishing lake. Why not stock Bass. Its not native, look what happened to Algonquin Park. Of note..Due to collapsed walleye fisheries (due to netting) there are alot of lakes with catch and Release only, however thanks to management they now hold trophy size walleye. I think Canada Really got lucky on this one. Lots of Penalty chances. A Blunder by the Russian that missed the open net. All I got to say, is, they got to play a lot better against the Swedes. That's a good Question as I have a Nautilus Battery and Charger with trickle and 10 amp. OK, lets specify hear. I have two Batteries sitting here till Spring. Then in the summer and Fall Ill probably use one Battery per Weekend. IE, not always, but I may need a second Battery on Sunday. What is the best plan for charging as I want to keep my Batteries working as long as Possible
