  1. Congrats.... $50K over asking.....wow....no slowing in housing up there, eh? dk
  2. Congrats on your first opener.......great pics! dk
  3. Thanks, guys! I'm outta here until Tuesday. Not sure how I'm going to sleep tonight....we're leaving at 4:30 for a 6:30 AM meet with Mike. I talked to him today, and fishing on Webster was good yesterday, and he was going to Barbie Chain today, and we're going wherever he had more success..... No way I'm sleeping.....report / pics on Tuesday! dk
  4. For Christmas, I got my dad and I a guided Muskie trip with Mike Hulbert (www.mikehulbert.com). Mike fishes here in Northern Indiana in the Spring & Fall on Webster & Tippy Lakes, and the Barbie Chain and last year he put over 260 fish in the boat with the average size just under 40". Well tomorrow is the day, and will be the first time either of us has fished for muskie. It's been over 15 years since my dad & I were in a boat together, and he really doesn't fish much. I'm really hoping he ties into a hog, but regardless I'm looking forward to the day. His health is on the decline (a genetic family disease), and he's probably not going to be here in 5 years, so it's all about the memories...nothing more! I'm hoping this turns into a yearly event...... It'll be Tuesday before I can post a report, as I'm taking Monday off to work on the house we just bought, but here's hoping I'll have something great to report (I know I will regardless). Good luck to all you fishing the trout open'er...but C'MON MUSKIE! dk
  5. I would make the current owner remove it, and have it pass another inspection. If they won't pay for it, then the price should come down to cover your costs to do it. dk
  6. Great stuff Phil! Congrats on a successful outing....and those sunrise pics are great. dk
  7. I think Cisco summed up my feelings on this pretty well. You took in a situation and made the best decision you thought that was based on the situation and the surrounding circumstances....that's all we can ever hope for from another person. Good for you for saying something though... dk
  8. Just read through your photo essay, and "vertical camping".....HOLY S**T! My stomach was acting weird just LOOKING at some of those pics.... dk
  9. What a great post! Those pictures are amazing! I get up that way a couple of times a year in the spring & fall (steelhead & Salmon), but I go up to the Pere Marquette (sp) in Baldwin. Thanks for bringing back some great memories of my fishing trips in Michigan! Thanks! dk
  10. Great report, and those boats are simply amazing!! dk
  11. I'm not a huge hockey guy, but that was funny.... dk
  12. That store in Dundee, MI is great! We'll be heading up this summer to gear up for our fall trip. The store is about 70 miles south of Detriot between Detroit & Toledo on US-23. And it's the ONLY attraction in Dundee!
  13. Not sure if I can ever get enough Wayne...... The fishing at Fushimi was just what you'd want it to be on a trip...we caught lots of fish, ate fish, and had a great time. We were there in May last year. This year we're going up at the end of August. dk
  14. Never done it, but I'll be watching this thread, as it sounds like an awesome trip. I'm heading back up toward Hearst late summer, and we'll be out at Fushimi PP. Beautiful Country. Good Luck! dk
