Nice report! Good on you for passing your love & respect of the outdoors to a young one!! A good goal for all of us in 2007! dk

Never fished out of Hawk Junction, but I've flew out of there several times with Hawk Air to some of their outposts...pretty good fishing. Hawk Air Only drive-to I've been to up in that "area" is Five Mile Lake (S. of Chapleau) off of Hwy. 129. Camped 1 year and stayed in a cabin the other. Good fishing for Walleye & Smallies, Pike were OK, but a lot of hammer handles. Five Mile Lake Lodge Here's another link to check out. From TJ's site, and it lists several camps in the Wawa / Chapleau area. Good luck and welcome to the OFC! dk

Very nice Lew! By the time the boat comes out, you should have the manual memorized and be ready to go. dk PS - GCD, I have the Cabela's Visa and use it for all our gas purchases, and love cashing in the points for free gear!!

My mom is sending my dad & I on a full day guided fishing trip for Muskie in N. Indiana around some of the lakes where we have our cottage. Never been fishing for them before, but I'm more excited to spend the day on the water with my dad. We'll take the trip sometime in late April. Here's the guide we're using: Mike Hulbert Guide Service Some other Christmas highlights: 1. Watching the boys open all their presents 2. I got lots of cash to use on up coming fishing trips throughout the year 3. Seeing family from all over And the warmest thing to happen......my son asked if we could box up some of his older toys so, his words, "I can give them to boys who don't get many toys." Bought a lump to my throat! Merry Christmas All! dk

Great stuff there!! My boys left cookies and carrotts out last night....great time of year! dk

Congrats Roger....that is quite an acomplishment, very worthwhile, and something to be proud of! My work has the Red Cross in every 8 weeks or whatever the minimum time is between donations....and if I'm not traveling, I'm donating. I would guess by the nature of most OFC'ers that there are lots of "blood giving" types of folks here! Merry Christmas, dk

LOL....Phil, when ever we get together next year for some fishing, that's a plate will have end the day with!! dk

Thanks for that! And may God bless those who won't be spending the holidays with their loved ones.....so I can! dk -
Two things I'm thinking right now: 1. My mouth is watering and I'm really hungry 2. Is there anything you can't find out about on the OFC....who needs "google"? Great stuff all! dk

Like most others, I only feel bad, when I have to keep a fish I wanted to release, or release I fish I wish I could keep because I know it won't make it. That being said, most fishing I do around home is for pan fish and bass. I don't keep any bass, but have no problem keeping pan fish. They have very strong populations, strong reproduction, and they call them pan fish for a reason....they taste so good in the pan....especially with a nice steak: When I'm up your alls way, we'll keep a couple fish each for the fish fries, but don't bring any home, and work hard to realease as many fish as possible....only keeping what we need for that night's feed. I think it boils down to "each his own" as long as they are within the limits of the laws. I don't think keeping a leagl limit makes you less of a "sportsman", but just makes you a "sportsman" with a different opinion on keeping fish then maybe another "sportsman" has...and there is nothing wrong with a difference in opinions, as long as everyone can remain civil, and all have the well-being of the sport they love at heart! dk

Mabe I should take some bigger treble hooks and lead weights next year, Wayne!!

Eddie: I don't know, Clark. I don't think I should should be going down no hill with nothing between me and the ground but a piece of cheap Governrment plastic. Clark: Ya' think it matters Eddie? That movie IS Christmas for me! It's one we watch every Christmas Eve at my folks house....recite every line, and laugh more and more each year! ....."we're going to have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby danced with Danny ******* Kay!"

Great work as usual guys!! Thanks to all you ADMIN's who deal with all the CRAP, so the rest of us can have a great place to share, laugh (at & with), and cry with others! OFC is truly something unique, and I'm not sure what I'd do if it went away!! Yikes...I may have to actually work during the day!! dk

Congrats! Nothing like going "home"! dk

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Phil! 4 day work week this week - 3 days next week - 4 days the next week! I love this time of year!! dk
