After reading Gerritt's "cat hunting post", I thought I'd share.... My oldest (Evan - 4) went fishing Monday at the baby sitter's, and called me at work so excited he caught two "HUGE" fish. After I saw the pictures, I agreed: And then there is Joah.....he's 22 months. He put on this helment a few weeks ago, and luck would have it, I had the video camera ready - make sure the sound is up so you can hear him grunt!!. Now that we've got DSL in the new-to-us home, I can upload for all to share! Kids are so much fun....and I've got boy #3 coming any day now!!

Went to FML for two years with some buddies (04 & 05). Dave & Christine are great people. For 'eyes we trolled a lot of worm harness rigs, jigs w/ twisters, and G7 Rapala's casted and trolled. The pike did well on spoons, and spinners. Our best fishing was done at the back end of the lake...a long boat ride from camp. We also got into some Smallmouth down near the old boat lauch in the closed Provencial Park....buddy & I each landed (and released) fish close to 5# on top water in the evenings. I've got a map at home. I'll see if I can scan it in. PM your e-mail addy and I'll see if I can't get some stuff to you. BTW, not sure where you're coming from, but if you're towing a boat and coming from the Soo, I would suggest HWY 17 to 101 to 129, as opposed to taking 129 North off 17. 129 North is a great drive, but no fun towing a boat. Besides, 17 between Soo & Wawa is one of the prettiest stretches of road I've ever been on. Best of luck! dk

Fished less after the first son....but now's he is getting older (4 last month), so I'm planning to take him with me more, and looking forward to memories on the water with my kids. "Fish a lot less obviously, but don't consider it a sacrifice. If I'm with her, I think about fishing while she's napping in my arms. When I'm fishing, I think about her anyways." Well said, Charlesn....well said! dk For what's it's worth....I play less golf since kids.......and Evan's not quite old enough, but next year, I think a family membership may be in the works...LOL. dk
