  1. I find it funny that as humans we are constantly looking to place the blame on causes outside of ourselves. Accusing cormarants of lowering fish populations in lakes in Ontario is similar to accusing seals of wiping out the cod population on the Grand Banks. If we ever realize that humans are responsible for 99% of the changes that occur in ouor environment than maybe we will change the way we act as opposed to looking for scapegoats. I do not see how a rational person can blame poor fishing in an area on a bird. Just my two cents
  2. I'm twitching with withdrawal symptoms. NIce ski.
  3. Wow..congrats
  4. Good luck
  5. Wow...cool story. He sounds like a great guy.
  6. There is a lot of information online. Pick a type of fishing and do a google search. I'm sure you'll come up with some good information.
  7. A web search and a google search would serve you well. The best way to learn is to get out there and talk to people who you see fishing. While you may get some tips about where to go, requesting specific baits and techniques for an area that is heavily fished like Toronto is not likely to get you many positive responses. In fact requesting this information makes it less likely to get it. My advice to you would be to get out and fish. Bring a camera and post a report.
  8. That white a purple spinner looks tasty
  9. I use fluoro leaders and will continue to do so based on the info in this article, paticularly the abrasion resistance when exposed to water. However I would never use a fluoro main line based on the info in this article. I just don't see a difference between fluoro and mono.
  10. Wouldn't the first tee off time be reserved for teams that did not make the playoffs?
  11. That was funny
  12. Wow...I am seriously jealous.
  13. What a day, a great report and a beautiful place to live.
  14. They aren't good enough, or they can't stay off drugs. It's not called the Chronic Football League for nothing.
  15. I actually find the CFL to be much quicker than the NFL
  16. I would argue it goes both ways. The Canadian game is very different. Just look at Ricky Williams; his CFL career was an utter failure yet he is still going strong in the NFL. A recent CFL player who made the transition to the NFL is defending CFL defensive player of the year Cameron Wake, who not only made the Miami Dolphins this year but is having a great year so far. I have some friends who played in both leagues, mind you as long snappers, and they claim that in terms of athleticism both leagues are quite similar.
  17. I enjoy the CFL game more, as I believe 3 downs and a wider field makes for a more exciting game. I voted for the NFL because I am addicted to fantasy football.
  18. I joined because I was looking for info on fishing in Ontario. I stay for the fish porn and because I am passionate about fishing and want to meet people who are like minded.
  19. Great job raising awareness. I've already begun my Movember push by growing a beard.
  20. If You're close to downtown Toronto the St. Lawrence market has a few butcher shops that have a variety of wild game. White House meats in particular carries all the types of meat that you mentioned. However, it is not a cost effective choice, so prepared to spend considerably more than you might find in other locations.
  21. wow...that 51 incher is a monster
  22. Nice report. Way to brave the elements to boat some decent ski's.
  23. Are you looking for quantity or quality?
  24. I guess once you become a pro angler the rules no longer apply to you.
