  1. There just so happens to be a OFC get together on Nippising in early Feb..
  2. I saw him too.. Ya, there's an old wooden wreck down there.
  3. Do they catch much outta those huts??
  4. We fished out of Lefroy in 14'. we did catch lots of dinks, but also had a few ice Jumbos. Kept 70 for the weekend between 3 guys, all between 8" and 13". Everyone will tell you something different about perch fishing. I never fish off Gilford in cooks bay. Move north. The ice is getting pretty good now. Get out of cooks bay, and don't go back all year... IMO.. Try Lefroy, or big cedar. IBP might be good this weekend.. And perch eyes work great on Simcoe..
  5. I got the e-mail from OFAH this week about it. They said there will be between 400 and 600 tags. And a 3 part application process to get one. Sounds like fun. I love Elk Meat!
  6. Caught 2 or 3 last year. 1 while perch fishing in 30' with minnows, and the others in about 100' jiggin a williams.
  7. Dam! Those are some nice pics!
  8. Ya, no kidding eh! What's with that. They call a slashing penalty on Canada for chopping at the goaly, but it was the USA defenceman who chopped his own goaly in the head..
  9. There ya go bri!! I just got my Stikemaster perin' like a kitten! Cooks bay next weekend for some perch. Can't wait till the lady freezes over! Congrets on the new purchase. Your shoulders will thank you later this season
  10. Can't wait till the G2G in Feb!.. You're gunna show me how to catch eyes thought the ice right??
  11. There ya go eh Nice subtle action jigging, no hands required. Would work good on Simcoe, no shortage of wind there.
  12. Did ya get to test out those new rod holders ya made a few weeks back?
  13. Just about! Thanks Wayne and Solo for figuring this one out for me. One of my buddies saw the same thing a few weeks ago, and asked me what it was. Now I can tell him that it was not aliens, which was my obvious first answer..
  14. Forgot to mention that as soon as the clouds went away, so did the lights..
  15. Did anyone else see these lights in the sky over Barrie last night (Dec 26th). I'm not sure if it was the Northern Lights or not. I would assume so. It was around 10pm, and cloudy. The lights where most pro-dominant in the south, but could also be seen in the west, and north. They weren't dancing much, but slightly changing in intensity. I put my Sony Alpha on a tripod and snapped a few pictures. Looking North West And looking South West If they where the Northern lights, they where shotty at best, but still cool to see! Nothing like we used to see in Pickle Lake..
  16. Haven't seen all season, then tonight, just past legal shooting time, as i'm putting my bow in the case. Buck and two does come moving toward me. Maybe they'll be an hour early tomorrow..
  17. Good to know Wayne. Thanks! Much ice up that way yet?
  18. That's nuts. I couldn't see myself doing that anytime soon. heck, i crindge when big trucks drive by me on Simcoe..
  19. Happy Holidays Brian! You wanna go deer hunting one day this week? I booked the week off and still have a tag to fill. Plan on going every day! PM me if you want..
  20. Was on the Jiffy website looking for a replacement exhaust cover. Stumbled accross their electric ice auger page. Sorry if this has been posted about before. http://www.jiffyonice.com Anyone use them before? I'm wondering what the battery life is like? Also the charging time? Can they be charged using a solar panel charger while out on the ice? No loud gas motor sounds like a good thing, less chance of breaking down, less noise, polution, etc... They're a little pricy. $450 for an 8" on BPS website.. I guess that's not to bad.. What do you folks think?
  21. I had the link copied and was about to post the same thing.. Are you friggen kidding me. With his grand-daughter. Come on Maybe the old timer is mentally ill.. Must be! Here's another Link.. http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20101221/snowmobile-ice-lake-simcoe-101221/20101221/?hub=TorontoNewHome
  22. Most kids young enough to still beleive in Santa, would have stopped reading after the first paragraph.. I would have anyways.
  23. No offence Mercman.. But that add sounds funny as hell! St. Croix are good rods, they're just making a joke. Take it..
  24. I just forwarded that to my boss, the engineering manager.. I'm waiting to here him laugh.
