Well last weekend My wife, son and a family friend went camping on Ahmic Lake. oh and can't forget my golden retriever Molson!!!! I normally end up fishing about a dozen times by now, mainly on nipissing and a few times on Ahmic. However since work has been very busy, I just haven't had time to get out fishing this year boooooo. We decided to go to Ahmic because I know the lake fairly well and with my son I wanted to get him into fish. It rained hard on us the whole weekend but since my son is 3 years old he thought it was fun lol and truely I had fun with him!!!! Here is our campsite/tents Our View Traditional Campfire shot My son Sleeping in a tent for his first time! That went really great! He loved it! My 2 girls hanging by the fire to warm up. We did manage to get into a few fish but it rained sooooo hard that there were times we couldn't see 2 feet in front of us. So it turned into a drinking in tents and trying to stay dry weekend more then a fishing weekend. I normally don't keep largies but this one wasn't going to make it. Fat pike for the length. sorry didnt get the measurements. Here is a video of the weekend. Some fishing clips included! Visit My Website Well work is just getting busier so I wont get out fishing again until August camping weekend. Overall despite the nasty weather I had a great time! I hope next months camping trip will produce nicer weather and hopefully I can spend more time on the water!!!! Cheers!

awful news my codolences to the families who lost someone from this storm

when i was 17 we used to camp alot and one drunken night we decided to cast from our beer chairs and we had the best fishing in years. Every since then I have fished night time as much as possible. Going camping next weekend and will do some ngiht fishing for sure. Cheers!

if its fatally hooked i would keep it for sure. The hardest thing for me is when catch an out of season fish by accident and i have to let it go, its pretty crummy watching a fish float upside down. I have seen one eyed fish that are pretty big so i would imagine it would be ok Cheers!

its a good size lake, long and narrow it can be worked in a day but you miss alot of good areas if you crusie on by. There are lots of smallies in the lake and decent walleye although it can be a tough lake to fish. It seems that sometimes the fish dont bite on restoule more then other lakes. Its been a while since i fished the lake but if you want smallies i would cruise up to patterson lake for a better chance at good numbers of smallies. Look forward to your report! The restoule area is one of the nicest places in ontario!! Cheers!

if any of you ever get the chance to go to haliburton stop at the haliburton forest and wildlife reserve. there is a wolf centre there, you will see they can get that big often! Huge animal!
