  1. To be honest, makes me feel good. I've had trouble with the eyes too. Which lake?
  2. Good to know Basshole. So you are saying the CanAms are as reliable as the Hondas and Yammys?
  3. Likely would have filled the boat an hour or two earlier
  4. Might be ready to pull the trigger on an ATV. I'm not a speed demon nor very mechanical. 5' 6" tall. Mostly to poke around the cottage and maybe the Haliburton trails. Thinking of a Honda 420 PG CTE in camo. 2013's are on sale. about $7500 Anybody have an opinion on this machine? Also looking at Yamaha 550 with EPS. Quite a bit more $
  5. yes but will the manufacturer honour the warranty here
  6. Thanks guys. Looking at used prices on Kijiji, and still having to pay sales tax, might as well buy new and get new tires and warranty and know it hasn't been abused
  7. Does anybody know if you pay tax on a used ATV private purchase? Thinking they get you when you get it licensed....or not Getting the ATV itch again
  8. awesome report. and to think, thought the thread was about diarrhea
  9. I dropped in to them with a photo. said they'ld have to get a mechanic to break her down. would be nice if they could weld a piece on without disassembling the lower unit on the trailer welding a 2"x2" piece at the bottom could wreck the seals in the lower unit, I guess.
  10. too close to the point coming out of Big Bald channel into Little Bald
  11. Spent the last week at the cottage -north east Pigeon Lake. On arrival last weekend the water at the dock was like green pea soup. The wind had concentrated the algae but all across the lake the algae was thick. At least the top 12 inches of the water column. Worse, in the calm bays, it looked like someone spilled torquoise paint into the water. Light blue and green algae was sticking to rocks and wooden docks. I'm guessing this is the dreaded bluegreen algae that is potentially toxic if ingested. Notice no significant algae in Chemong, Buckhorn and Stoney lakes. Anybody know anything about this? Without having all the facts, I'm concerned that the Bobcageon sewage plant may have something to do with it, together with the 2 hot days we had a few days before. Any thoughts?
  12. it's like a bite was taken out the back of the bottom,.-circular chunk gone also clipped the tip of one prop blade
  13. A rock took a bite out of the back of my 115 hp skeg. About 2"x2" area. Fixed it with epoxy putty. Used hack saw and sander to shape it just right. Been on for a couple weeks. So far so good. Will it last?
  14. those bows are phsyco suicidal. sucks to lose a big fish when a 5 cent piece of tackle fails
  15. That sucks. Likely the same thief that got your phone and tackle. He'll likely be back for more. Since he has struck gold. You could use a yappy dog in the house.
  16. Been doing a lot of rip jigging this year. Looking for as light a rod as possible. Hard on the arms otherwise
  17. Hey, make sure you use the palomar knot for braid. With braid you will feel everything. spinners, rapalas etc. You'll know right away if your lure is fouled with weeds. Hooksets need to be tamer. You'll rip the hook out of the fish's mouth if you're too aggressive.
  18. I'm a convert to FireLine Crystal 10 lb for spinning outfit. Semitransparent braid. Fairly abrasion resistant. Not as good a fluoro. Any other recommendations for a braid or lowstretch, easy to cast spinning line for walleye?
  19. cutie patooties. until they grab a loon chick
  20. sounds good to me, Lew. I have a big net but not as wide a hoop.. It is the flat bottom pen that appeals to me.
  21. saw a Frabil net at LeBarons yesterday... $98 I believe. Is this a good net to get without breaking the bank? It telescopes into the hoop. Is it "baskety" enough to hold a good fish with the handle laid across a 96" wide boat? I'd like a good net but don't want to spend $200
  22. done many a trip in with each of my kids. next time I'll bring a steel line outfit and try for the trout I hear 400 ft back with a silver spoon will do it
  23. surprised to see that on Lake O. Where do all the nutrients come from all of a sudden?
