  1. I recently purchased a new boat from buddy at work, it's on a homemade trailer. I've gone to the courthouse twice now, sat for 2-3 hrs each time and got sent home cuz I didn't have everything I needed. NOW, I think I'm finally ready. I have the completed trailer registration from the previous owner. Description of the the trailer. I have my own necessary identification. Is this enough to go put a stupid license plate on my trailer? It's pretty bad it took 2 months with the current registration system to get one. I just dont want to have another wasted morning at the courthouse so if I am forgetting anything or can do anything that will make this go easier please let me know. I'm dying to use my new boat and don't want to tow it illegally to do so! Any advice? Am I forgetting anything? Oh yeah, I have the $20 for the plate cost too. lol Here's the boat and trailer.. the Filth Deluxe. Will be buying a bow mount and graphs this weekend and HOPEFULLY giving her a test run!
  2. Myself (Richard Sims) and partner Eric Hanans (sleded) are in the photo.
  3. The only other option is to do surgery with a pair of pliers and trust me that WILL kill them everytime. Guaranteed.
  4. They will hit tiny bits of worm on a hook... that's about it. Anything hitting the bait would be mooneye or goldeye.
  5. Gizzard shad. Usually find a lot of them this time of year near warm water outflows.
  6. Always wondered if anyone else was tagging chrome down there.. great pics!
  7. No, that is the only plastic bait in existence that bass do not eat. Sorry. (lol)
  8. Bottom pinned, floated or drifted weightless, depending on the day and how the carp are behaving when I hit the river. Lots of fun, but nothing serious. Just playing with the carp in the backyard.
  9. Managed to hit the backyard this morning before the river became chocolate milk and she sure didn't disappoint. 6 of the biggest we have caught back there this year. Can of corn, legwork and patience can lead to a really fun morning, especially on the float reel. The chubs were also co-operative, lol.
  10. You're good to go. I fish the inner bay in my 14' tinnie and have seen a lot of worse days than 25kph SW wind. That'll be average bay weather.
  11. Nice channel cats! Good job.
  12. Well Ryan, at least at school you don't have to worry about your buddies using her head as a beer holder! LOL She is a cute, responsible kid and I'm sure she'll #1 love school and #2 do very well at it. She might daydream about big fish once in a while though.. haha Great post dude.
  13. No need to discuss waterbodies here, pics detail location thoroughly enough. Great fish though!
  14. Great time and a great cause. And despite the terrible weather, that was not a terribly slow September day on Deer Creek. More quality bass caught than last year by more people. Not by me of course, but most did well. lol Can't wait for next year's.
  15. Women who hit 65 aren't usually too interested in impressing the opposite sex with their appearance anymore.. they opt for convenience instead. Hence the reason they wear only clothes that are comfortable and manageable, rather than the latest fashion.
  16. Thanks for the kind words everyone, good to be back. Coming soon: A 3 hour hike/camping/fishing trip photo diary. lol And Jedi, I eat more now than I did at 300lbs, however I keep physically active more than ever. The weight stays off, I remain energetic almost all the time and generally stay happier. Anyone who is overweight, walk walk walk! I walked off 130lbs before I started any real workout regimen.
  17. FYI, you might want to call ahead. Sleded's shirt size is "tarp".. they might not make them that big?
  18. My dad used to fish the rocks there every fall for salmon/browns. Little Cleos, long casts.. or flatline trolling surely would work too.
  19. Cootes needs a big steep dam at the top end, would help with waterflow, sediment control and aeration for plant/fish life.
  20. I've had plenty of Shimanos, from Callistos to Curados to Calcuttas. They were all the best reels for the money, by far. Citica, a classic. Trust me, with today's ever changing market and big box companies taking over all the small guys, for one model of reel to survive the test of time for almost 20 years says something. Get a Citica or a Curado. The most reliable reels on the market.
  21. As a kid, eels used to litter that place. Good to see them coming back. Though, the marsh is pretty well a dead zone for anyone fishing now that the carp are gone.
  22. The good go too soon. Sorry bout the loss of your buddy, however you can bet he wouldn't want you sittin' at home when there's all those fish out there to catch. You'll get back into it dude. We never truly lose our passion for fishing!
  23. Never had saltwater fish that I really enjoyed all that much. To catch or eat. lol.
  24. Catfish is hard to beat, bullheads too. Carp is okay, a bugger to clean though. Sheephead I have yet to see done so it's edible. Suckers were really good, but way too boney for me to bother with again. If ya don't mind the extra work, you're very right.. most fish are tastey if prepared right. And for anyone who assumes they are "bottom feeders" I guess you better stop eating perch, crappies, bluegills, bass, walleye and trout because 70% of their diets are off the bottom too!
  25. Been a while since I've stopped in. I've been without the internet for a little over a year now.. even now I'm just on because there's a decent wireless signal. Time has been spent outdoors, learning about everything to do with the outdoors.. still fishin though. PICS: Ice Pike One Random Bow Channel Cats Carp A Day in Dunnville Bass Opener My boss with the biggest of the day Scum frog bass It's been a pretty decent year, summer has blown for me but I always have high hopes. Now it's almost fall, can't wait for big bass, pike & muskies!
