  1. Dry mouth? Nahhhh.. not if it's good weed. Here's an example:
  2. lol funny I was kicked off a different board for arguing that carp CAN be targetted through the ice. Dude was so offended that he was wrong (he thought they hibernate! LOL!!) that I was booted. haha, thanks for the proof. I've tried my best to sting 'em thru hard water before but a couple fish on is the best I ever did.
  3. OK. Thanks for the heads up. That's why I asked before hooking it up. lol
  4. Not sure why he'd have to explain it's legality.. in other countries it's illegal to release fish. here it's common practice. I'm glad every fishing show that C&R's doesn't sit there explaining it's legality everytime a fish goes back. haha
  5. I bought a bow mount trolling motor for the Filth Tank last fall - unfortunately too late to actually test it. It's a Minn Kota "Edge" 55lb thrust 12V motor. The O-Clips (I'm certainly no electrician) it came with that you would normally hook to a car battery are far too small, and there's a warning tag on the positive wire that says not all boats are wired for this motor, blah blah.. need a class 5 circuit breaker of some sort. My assumption is, that is only for boats that are wired back to front? My real question is, will it do any damage if I stick U-Clips on there and connect it direct to my deep cycle 12V like I have with my other motors in the past? Common sense tells me, 12V motor/12V battery should hook direct just fine. Just want to make sure, because of that warning sheet attached to the motor. Don't want to blow $700 in a stupid mistake when all I had to do was connect a breaker. lol
  6. .. And some weed ..
  7. We at Loblaws (Real Canadian Superstore) dream of a 'super wal-mart' opening across the road, so we can all switch over. They get a bad rep, but if you the majority of employees (at least the ones here in Simcoe) they say it's a very good company to work for. It's part time, they cant offer everyone 40 hour work weeks, but they say it's not bad.
  8. I'd be a lot more worried about a bunch of little bass boats zipping around on Lake Erie full of anglers not wearing PFD's than the dudes on the giant tarpon boats that are made for casting stability and rough water..
  9. Usually if I need a rest I flip my bucket over, lol
  10. Thank you all for the birthday wishes and comments.. but I certainly hope, after clearly posting the results that somebody would not be scoffing at the idea of frozen mackerel for bait. lol
  11. Spent my 25th birthday on the ice today, chasing down all we could catch.. but I have not landed a pike through the ice this year so I was really hoping for a decent one for my Bday.. well I wasn't disappointed. I'm not really in the mood to type a detailed report, so I'll just say - what a great day. Thanks to Rob, Eric and Carina for sharing the ice with me and keeping the good times flowin'! My ONLY complaint today is - there was a guy sittin' alone all day running SIX lines to himself, some ice rods, a regular rod and 2 pop bottles wrapped with line. We called the MNR TWICE in a 6 hour period. Guy caught one pike, moved around with all his lines all over the place and got in his car and left, after the MNR never showed up. We stayed right til dark. Nothing. Shows how well that Tips line works Should have told them that the guy had an OOS trout on the ice cuz that's all they'll come for around here is trout poaching!  Oh well that guy won't be so lucky forever. Let's hope he goes trout fishing so the CO's can bust him. Anywho, time for pics! Happy birthday to ME! lol
  12. I see posts about beer on the ice, and fights on the ice.. but what are the restrictions of weed on the ice? I mean, I was fishing a pond today, and the top of the ice was littered with weeds people had snagged through their ice holes. What's with that? HEHEHEHEHEH
  13. Does anyone post fishing pics anymore?
  14. I don't know why anyone would go that way.. it is illegal to prevent someone with a valid outdoors card from properly fishing. You hate those guys who crowd your spots? Call the cops. True law.
  15. Nice
  16. Sardines work pretty well, and are indeed legal. Ask the CO's that checked my bait 2 weeks ago while fishing a pond. This 42" was caught on a sardine **EDIT** LOL figures Rob (Bottombouncer) would have posted about this directly before me..
  17. Thanks for the information guys! Very much appreciated.
  18. Looking for any and all information I can find on various fly-in fishing lodges in Saskatchewan. Big northern pike being my main interest, but also lake trout and walleye. Anybody got some helpful experiences or links to share? Would be greatly appreciated!
  19. LOL, They omit a 'staining dye' when crushed. Great pic of that on the white wall. Thanks for the quick answer! haha
  20. Bunch of these crawling around my house, wondering what the heck they are. Comin' outta nowhere. I smashed this one with my brute Amp Energy fueled power ™
  21. I'm sorry but I can't agree with that in the case of fishing rods.. I definitely need to FEEL it before I buy it, or I certainly won't know if it's what I want!
  22. Frozen Peniche (Sardines) work well, 3.49 a bag at the Stupidstore (Loblaws)
  23. There'll be plenty people there now.
  24. I couldn't help but laugh, really really really hard, at how excited that guy was. LMAO! Sounds like he's jacked and snowboarding the alpines or something. LOL!
