  1. Mike miller was the winner of the last competition and i still see him on tv all the time. So i dont think its a flop.
  2. I saw pictures of people in the 40's and 50's holding stringers or 20 - 30 muskies at a time proudly.. Does that mean THEY were right too?
  3. Good work, great pics and a great description of your day. And a beauty river bass in the mix of scrappy little guys.
  4. There were not near as many gobies back them , maybe the fact that food is plentiful now may help is the idea behind it? I personally love the musky idea though. Wish i could catch them close to home.
  5. I think the trout/salmon migrating in will probably make quicker work of them than pollution or birds.
  6. If you have a tow vehicle... I have a spare boat..
  7. There is also triple t trout farm in waterford on thompson road
  8. Sweet. Since most people are apt not to keep hammer fish, they might actually repopulate, unlike the completely decimated inner long point bay walleye population that will never return.
  9. Are there any OFC'ers coming from simcoe area that could tow my boat or throw my car topper in their truck box/on roof rack?
  10. I dont disagree with sharing the small waters. I love seeing people catch big fish in spots i fish. It builds my confidence in also landing a hawg. The problem comes when the food fishermen move off the big lakes for a quick snack closer to home. You're right. They cant handle the harvest, especially the sickeningly common practice of harvesting large or trophy sized breeding fish.
  11. Why are there so many more people fishing small waterbodies that never used to see pressure? Is it just the introduction of detailed satellite and terrain maps available to everyone? The internet? Or os fishing simply more popular now?
  12. Yet another reason to never visit toronto.
  13. Try the pier. If you play it just right with some barbless hooks I`m sure you can get some hungry bikini tops
  14. You need red meat. Beef is best, fresh, lots of blood. A few chunks of stewing beef or a couple frozen beef shanks do the trick. They will not ignore red beef blood if there are any around they'll shoot right to it. Check it early in the morning before they move to root in cooler mud.
  15. Nice! I saw the definite trout potential in my last trip there. There was one good 6lb brown that kept swimming pretty much between my legs and sitting near me, like he was keeping watch, lol. Wouldn't eat anything I brought, but the smallie fishing was alright.
  16. Fishing is always worth it. You won't catch anything at home. HH is close and very shore accessible. You'd be surprised the giant fish that can appear from nowhere and annihilate your bait down there, even on the slowest of days.
  17. I agree and I'm not old. People want fish every cast, and now THAT's not good enough, they want MULTIPLE fish, every cast! lol 3 way swivel and one lure at a time always worked for me.
  18. Indeed, thank you! That was all a good read! I didn't think many steelhead made it above Caledonia. Interesting.
  19. Dress as a woman, bass love that camo on drag.
  20. Got my dc season pass, been hitting it hard lately! Fishing is good, though those monster largies still evade me, plenty of smaller fish are readily willing to bite. Cant wait to see and hear about everyones interesting catches at the event!
  21. I noticed for the first time when at the paris dam that there is a sanctuary in place for october/november. Ive never caught anything but rock bass, catfish and smallies there.. Saw the odd walleye around.. Just wondering if anyone knows what the sanctuary is in place to protect? Nothing spawns at that time of year that i know of, so it seems strange.
  22. Most of them hangout at sasquatch's cougar resort, getting declawed to keep the humans guessing.
  23. Big baits and a lot of patience.
  24. OR you can wade the river with my buddy brandon because he picks them up like a dog picks up fleas in a farmers field . Lmao
  25. A coffee can with holes drilled in the sides, with raw beef inside as bait. Attach to a string and lay in a warm, muddy, slow current area of a local creek, pond or river. But better yet,buy the berkley gulp! Leeches... They work as good as live and dont come off the hook so easy.
