  1. Ps: bring a spare battery
  2. I troll with mine when using harnesses on the big boat, otherwise i troll with it normally on my small boats. Works great on small lakes that dont see a lot of trolled lures.
  3. I always do and have.. 16ft steel duck boat, never had a problem.
  4. Hit a local, overfished little pit north of me today, bass and pike on the agenda. Nothing going on, real tough all afternoon. A 12 inch largemouth and a lost topwater pike were all i had. We pull up to a point on the way back, i cast at it about 6 times and say "i have no idea why the bass wouldnt be stacked behind that"... Make cast # 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and catch a bass on every single one, ending with the main event, a 4 pounder. Couldn't get a freakin bite all day, fished that point already 4 other times, then when i say that, the fish woke up. Eerie! But im not complaining about that night one bit.
  5. Wow. I'd like to get me some of them . Lol
  6. ..... So they didn't release the shark? Looked like it took the bait just fine... Lol
  7. Ps, i never actually follow this advice, i get nervous and twitchy and desperately search for quick bites all day. Lol i hear you man i hear you!
  8. Guy's got a great story on how he got his old faithful favourite lure back now. Thats a great story and thanks for sharing.
  9. If your drag is set right they will handle a carp and give you the fight of your life. Keep it rather loose and dont set the hook too hard. They have soft mouths and the smaller hooks actually hook em better, in treble form. Just gotta take it easy on the fight. The crickhopper is a crankbait just like the bumblebug. It has a bill to make it dive. It doesnt dive much below the surface... Just reel it very slowly. Killer on all sorts of fish.
  10. Me and a pair of hedge clippers made it paradise. Lol. The brown fishing comes in spurts but theres a mini pond back there thats always good for carp
  11. Fish a tournament like you're fishing a new lake. Forget the hotspots and approach from an outside perspective. It's the only way to concentrate on conditions, which is what you were doing when you first found your "hotspots"
  12. I towed 45 min to the bay once and realized i had no fishing rods. Ha, bad days mean a bright future!
  13. Bouncing tiny panther martins is my prime winter tactic for carp, for sure. Thats the only time lures are really all that productive for them though in my experience. I do get them fairly regularly in the backyard all season on rebel crickhoppers and bumblebees. Gotta slow drag em on the surface. Works equally as effective for browns.
  14. My girlfirend just assumes it's because i'm not fishing.
  15. Hahaha!
  16. Farmers draw water off those reservoirs, and for the last month we were in drought. It will take some time to bring water levels back up. Good news is the fishing is unaffected.
  17. The only way your spinner MAY be too big is if it weighs a pound. Lol if you're catching rock bass, upsize the lure
  18. My legal right is also to drink 5 cases of beer per day, provided im at home. Does that make it okay? My legal right is to light up a smoke 3 inches from a newborn, so long as im at home. Is that okay then? I also have a legal right to free speech, and i excercised it just fine. I dont like being flamed for my choice not to eat fish. They taste gross. I eat beef. And i dont go kill the cow to get it. Nor do i have a vegetable garden. Guess my opinion doesnt matter. Peace
  19. AND: have you accepted Jesus as your lord and saviour? Wait they just ring the doorbell and run now.
  20. I in true honesty dont even see the harm in mounting a fish. Really, somebody does it once in a lifetime. Put it this way, if 5 pounders are all you catch, keep them and you might get some 6 or 7's next year. If all you catch is 12" bass and one 5 pounder per year, think about it. Thats one less chance to get a 5+ next year, until all you ever get is 12" fish.
  21. Threats for promoting selective harvest, i hate to see what people asking for donations get. lol
  22. Lol, alrighty
  23. I know places where it certainly happened everyday. Long point bay for example. Doesnt happen anymore though. The fish dont often reach 5 or even 4 pounds anymore.
  24. These are biological facts they're preaching, would be the difference.
  25. I wish we didn't have to impose laws to instill common sense.
